Perspective & Adaptability - Two Key Concepts You Are Required To Embrace On Your Path To Success


hey miles here miles Becker calm and
this video is about perspective and
adaptability you know in putting out the
videos on this channel I have one minor
concern and that might be that I make
things look and sound easier than they
actually are this is a byproduct of the
fact that I've been in this industry
I've been marketing online and making
money online since 2003 and I've really
been full time with it for about seven
or eight years and you might be able to
hear in the background right now there's
a weed whacker popping up and this is
where we're getting to the adaptability
because everything I've created online
and my businesses have been kind of
brute force right like nothing actually
comes easily in this industry everything
I've done has been done for the first
time and every time you do something for
the first time it is challenging it
makes no sense we're all stepping into
the unknown it's that hindsight is 2020
concepts that makes it easy for me to
explain these things that i've done now
dozens hundreds or thousands of times
it's the fact that I've built marketing
funnels dozens of times on multiple
different systems that I understand them
at such a deep level that it's really
easy for me to communicate them and then
you blend that with my natural
communication style which is a pretty
good spoken communication style I can
really easily take complex ideas and
communicate them effectively now I'm
putting this video out because I want
you to understand the reality which is
the sound that you might hear i really
hope you can hear the dude on the weed
whacker next door because so I'm
outdoors right now it's starting to
sprinkle and it might actually start
raining on me to prove my point I woke
up this morning and there was no power
in the house we woke up the power went
out and I've committed to putting out a
Monday Wednesday Friday video and I left
for a hike after the power went out and
this is where the adaptability part
comes in because we all can commit to
something we focus on something we
decide to make it for and go forward and
go through something but life happens
things get in the way just like today
when I woke up the power was out I had
no option I just launched a new funnel
last night so I haven't been able to do
any prep work on this screencast video
that I planned
put out today I was essentially going to
wake up and record it today and edit it
and get that done but now that's not
actually going to happen because the
power has been out and it's still out
now three hours later so what am i doing
I'm adapting I don't have my light so I
can't turn all my lights and turn on my
set that i've been using downstairs
because it's just flat out too dark so
now i've gone outside and it's actually
starting to rain on me as I'm explaining
to you that this is normal this to me is
par for the course everything I mean
everything we have accomplished my wife
and I with our online business has been
met with a level of challenge that when
we look back on it it's damn near
hilarious at how many little things get
in the way the first time I installed
WordPress was a week-long disaster now
hosting companies will do that for you
the first time I install a theme on
wordpress it was so challenging now I
can do that in about two minutes with my
eyes closed blindfolded one hand tied
behind my back and the reason is I've
gone through that so many times and then
on the adaptability side of things as
you move forward in your business you're
just going to reach these challenges
you're going to start in a direction
that you think has the highest
probability of working for you and then
you're going to find something happens
the market decides on whether your idea
is right or not you might think you have
the best idea in the world and the real
trick to the game is to put that idea
out in front of prospective customers
and see if anybody takes their credit
card out of their wallet that's the kind
of data that lets you know yes or no
that's going to work and I can almost
guarantee you with one hundred percent
certainty that the exact idea you start
and you move forward with is not going
to be the idea that ultimately is the
business model that you're going to be
running later in the future right your
lifestyle business that's going to pay
you to six figures the multiple six
figures a year that you're going to like
live off of and build your life on is
going to be an adaptation of where you
start so it's all about taking imperfect
action to get going and then through
your imperfect action you adapt and
adjust and adapt and adjust and that's
the perspective I'm attempting to put
out right now because I didn't launch a
business that was six
cessful straight away I watched dozens
of businesses that didn't work and each
time I put something up that didn't work
I learned something and I stayed
committed to getting it done no matter
what regardless of the feedback
regardless of how many times I fall down
and have to start over from scratch i
decided i was going to figure it out
just as with this video regardless it's
friday and if i have to go stand out in
the rain and record a video on my phone
outside and then drive to a coffee shop
to upload this thing I will be
publishing this video on friday because
i'm committed and you only see that
event right you're only seeing me
explain the things i figured out that
work but in every video that i put out
for you that is explaining what works
for me in that situation you get the
luxury of bypassing the 5 10 20 things i
tried that didn't work i often don't
clog your mind or clog the videos or
waste either of our time explaining the
things that didn't work i'm trying to
shortcut you and give you what does work
so that's the perspective component is
that as you see these videos i was like
wow he makes it sound so easy yeah I do
because I failed my way to understanding
that at such a deep level through trial
and error trial and error trial and
error that i can give you the one thing
that worked for me and you also have to
keep in mind that what works for me and
my niche may very well not work for you
everything needs to be tested you need
to test it for you I'm trying to give
you a solid base line a great starting
point that you can trust in that's been
proven through experience so you can
start there and then what are you going
to have to do adaptability right that's
where the adaption comes in and you're
going to implement you're going to put
it up in a bow he's getting a really
good cost for lead with this kind of
thing this isn't working at all for me
great at that moment you need to adapt
just like I might need to adapt in a
minute to this rain is falling down
because it's all my cell phone right but
that's really the game here is you need
to take imperfect action and get things
up so I launched a new funnel last night
my wife and I we finish it up it took
over a week to create the video sales
letter scripts the slides to record them
to edit them to get the new products I
have two separate funnels that are
running two separate price points i had
to duplicate out my entire email
autoresponder list
yada yada yada I explain this because
you know I throw up a post on social
media or I mentioned here in a video
that I launched new funnel yesterday but
we don't see is that it says literally i
believe it was about 10 days from when
we decided on this new funnel structure
and we were going to test right we had
the data that said we need to test
something more like this it took about
10 days of hard work and i did go to a
conference in that and it took about 10
days for us to actually implement that
and now from this point on you're going
to hear me talk about this new funnel
that we put in blah blah blah but you
know you gotta keep in perspective that
it took days upon days to put it up and
what we put up is not perfect our OT o
video has these weird black lines on the
top and bottom because the size it
rendered out is wrong I put up an
imperfect first version but you know
what it's good enough I'm running
traffic to it and I've seen my first few
sales come through at this point and I'm
going to continue to adapt that new
funnel in order to make sure it works
just as you know in in some videos and
in some senses we have to adapt what we
do and I'm just going to come here under
the overhang and get my camera out the
out the rain and I'll stand here in the
rain myself and finish this video so
really all in all my goal was to share
with you the concept of adaptability
because that's what my wife and I really
feel like we've been doing over the
years is constantly adapting to new
things we we go in the direction we
think is going to have the best option
of working for us and from that moment
when we put it out there the market
response to our messaging to what we've
got what we put out and we begin
adapting and it's because we've been it
been adapting for eight years straight
every day waking up okay where we at
what do we push them forward okay here's
the biggest challenge okay I don't know
how to install WordPress great I don't
know how to put together my first funnel
great take those steps get your first
imperfect version up and then you make
it better and better and better one
little adaption one adaptation at a time
and all the mean while keeping
perspective that I'm putting out these
videos and I make it sound easy
sometimes and all in all the reason I'm
able to make it sound easy is because
I've spent years and years in trial and
error figuring this all out right you
don't hear about those months weeks
years of struggle you hear about that
event the time I
right because that's my goal is to share
with you what's working not the 13
things that didn't work I'm just trying
to give you that one thing that worked
for us so you could kind of zoom in
straight to their get started and go but
you're not going to expect that to work
for you like it did for us that's your
starting point that's where you begin
your testing for your niche and your
audience and from that moment on you
need to adapt and it's all about
adaptability keeping going with it be
willing to put out imperfect first
version remember that you're iterating
everything you're just starting with
version 1 point 0 and then you create
version 2 point 0 and 3 point 0 and four
point oh and so on my wife and I happen
to be on version 17 point 0 or something
crazy right and you might be on version
1.2 and that's perfect I hope these
videos help you understand what you can
use and test for your next best tests to
make sure you kind of keep moving
forward and if you notice at this point
the video is kind of working right like
I don't have my lights the dude with the
weed whacker over there ended I had to
commit to the process to get this going
and if I need to take my charger to a
coffee shop and have a mug of tea and
plug in and upload a video from Wi-Fi on
the other side of town where they have
power great I'm gonna do that because
I'm committed to getting this video up
getting my Friday videos up my monday
was due fri is my current kind of game
plan and i'm not gonna miss a friday and
i don't care if the power is not out i
don't care about on my life i don't care
i don't care about didn't get to do the
video i thought i could do today or I
wanted to do today I'm adapting staying
committed to publishing on my schedule
regardless of what happens and that's
why I've been able to create solid
significant results here on this YouTube
channel or in a bigger perspective on my
business with my wife etc so that's the
real game right you got to keep it in
perspective what you're working on know
that putting out imperfect content is
the exact way you start it gets better
and better and better and better the
more you practice the more you test the
more you iterate based on feedback from
your audience and from your customers
and then you've got to just keep
adapting that's really the game that's
how it works thank you very much for
