what's up everyone Stefan here from
projectlifemastery.com just on the road
right now it's a dark rainy day in
Vancouver but I thought I'd take out the
GoPro and shoot some video for you guys
so in this thing I want to talk to you
about focusing on the long term not the
short term you see I think a lot of
wanted the results yesterday and they
don't realize that it's a long term
process if you want to achieve anything
of value in your life you have to focus
on the long term I say time and time
again people they want to start a diet
and lose all this weight in a short
period of time or they want to start an
online business and make all this money
in a very fast period of time and get
rich quick well it doesn't work that way
you know if it was that easy if it was
that fast and everybody would be ripped
skinny athletic rich be making passive
income and living on the beach right it
doesn't work that way of course it is
possible there are people out there that
lose all this weight in a fast period of
time or people that make a lot of money
in a fast period of time but you have to
understand that that's not the majority
that's not the average most people it's
a long term process because you know
especially when you start something
brand new there's a learning curve that
you have to go through if you're brand
new to something you can't expect
yourself just to get it just like that
and all of a sudden have all this
success and have your entire life
transformed just like with anything with
starting a diet with making any change
starting new habits in your life a new
business there's going to be setbacks
there's gonna be road bumps there's
gonna be times where you fall off the
wagon you have to get yourself back on
track there's gonna be failures there's
gonna be challenges because you know
you're going through a brand new process
a brand new learning curve and so that's
why you always have to focus on the long
term you have to understand that your
life is a marathon it's not a sprint and
you know people that focus just on the
short term I think it's a recipe for
disaster what happens more often than
not is people that you know they want to
make all this money in a fast period of
time or lose all this weight you know
what happens is after like two weeks or
like 30 days or even three months if you
know they haven't lost all this weight
or if they aren't making all this money
they get discouraged and they give up
because I've never them never stuck with
anything over the long term that never
faced adversity
failures all the things that occur in
the process of success I expect all of
those things to happen in the process of
success is the process of anything
because I'm always focused on the long
term I know that failure is part of the
process I know that frustrations
challenges all of that stuff is part of
it but if you're committed to your goal
and your focus on the long term then
what's gonna happen is you're gonna get
through all those speed bumps you're
gonna be able to keep you're gonna learn
from oldest mistakes those challenges
those failures and they're gonna keep
moving forward that's what happens when
you're focused on the long term but if
you focus on the short term then it's
just very easy for you to just get
discouraged and give up and move on to
the next thing because I see that happen
time and time again with people as they
start a process right they want to start
an online business they join a course
they stick with it for 30 days and then
all of a sudden they're not making all
this money so they see the next course
or the next opportunity or the next diet
and they jump ship and they move on to
the next thing well you have to give
that a chance you have to give it a
chance for at least six months to a year
plus really and be invested in it and
become a master at something you can't
be a dabbler a dabbler is the person
that just jumps from one thing to the
next thing you can't be that person if
you dive deep into something and you
just you know you just get off the
surface you go deep and you commit
yourself to it and you're consistent and
you learn as much as you can and you
invest in yourself then you will have
success it's just a matter of time some
people get it faster than others just
like how some people might understand
math a lot faster than others right I
remember for me when I was in school I
was a very slow learner I still am today
I think so I mean I find that when I
learn new things it takes me a while to
really grasp it and really understand it
after maybe go over it a few times to
really understand it where there's some
people you know they learn math or they
learn a subject and they just get it
right away other people need to be more
homework more studying maybe some people
need tutoring but everyone's different
so my point is focus on the long term
guys understand there's a process you
know with our investments with your
business with your health with your diet
long term and focus on
results not just quick results that go
away sustainable results there's a lot
of loopholes and shortcuts and things
like that that can get you quick results
but they might not be sustainable you
know you can lose a lot of weight in a
fast period of time by taking fat
burners and and you know doing all this
kind of crazy extreme stuff but my
question is is that gonna be sustainable
over the long term if you lose all this
weight will you be able to keep it off
over the long term you know if you make
all this money do you have a strategy
that's sustainable over the long term
something that's not going to sabotage
be sabotage in some way and not last so
that's why you want to focus on the long
term a lot of people - by the way they
get a lot of success very quickly and it
just backfires on them you know think of
a celebrity or someone that is given all
this money very quickly all this
attention all this fame they don't know
how to deal with it and they just start
melting down because they haven't built
a foundation in place to be able to
handle that success to be able to deal
with all the money that they just
received you know so long-term guys just
time and time again focus on the
long-term you know just slow and steady
progress that's the goal you know I ask
people why do you need to make all this
money very quick why do you need to
change your life so fast you have time
on your side be patient you know the
success will come when they're ready and
when you're deserving of it when you put
in the work when you put in the time
when you've committed yourself to
mastery then those results will show up
in your life only when you're ready for
