France and in this video I want to
answer a question that someone sent me
and it was just about the topic of
starting a blog and what at what you
know what was the one of the most
important things they should know when
starting a blog and they just kind of
make a certain amount of money in their
blog and I've talked a lot about
blogging and different video blogs in
the past but there's one area of
blogging and i think is very very
important especially for new bloggers or
even more advanced bloggers out there
that can really allow you to be very
successful as a blogger and i think one
it's important understand is that most
blogs don't really make money you know
ninety nine percent of blogs out there
on the internet don't make any money at
all there's basically people they're
just talking about their lives talking
about different things they have going
on but they're not really adding any
value or any substance or a message to
their blog and I think one of the most
important things that has allowed me to
be successful as a blogger is by having
an X Factor having a way to stand out
and differentiate myself from everyone
else out there in some way and I'm going
to talk a little bit about that in this
video you know having an X Factor having
a way to differentiate and stand out
which I feel is one of the most
important things in starting any
business out there you know funny enough
right here in Paris you know and really
anywhere that I go in the world I'm
always paying attention to different
businesses and you know here there's a
lot of different restaurants and to be
honest with you a lot of them look
exactly the same they're all red they
all have these you know chairs and and
tables out outside they all have the
same food of baguettes or crepes or you
know different wines or whatever it is
not a lot of them really stand out they
all kind of do the exact same thing and
I notice that with a lot of other
businesses out businesses out there I
noticed that with Kindle books I noticed
that with amazon products you know when
you do a keyword search you look at a
certain market a lot of the products are
exactly the same or kindle books the
same cover the same headlines the same
everything and so you know when
blending in those sort of way you're not
standing out from the competition you're
not really standing out from the
competition anyway and you know sure
enough you're not going to get the
maximum results of what you can be
getting so bringing it back to the
blogging i'm going to show you guys what
my ex factor is how I've been able to
stand out with my blog and differentiate
myself and I think one of the very first
things when i created my blog is i
didn't decide to go into a very specific
niche or market and i think that that's
one of the most important things I've
always learned in an internet business
is you want to pick a very specific
niche or market and focus just on that
so for example when i first started my
blog i used to block a lot about fitness
because i was doing a fitness
competition back in 2012 and i was
sharing my progress pictures you know
and it was just a way for me to be
accountable and stick to my goal of
getting in great shape and competing in
that competition so that was one thing
that i could have just stuck to on that
blog but i decided you know what if i
just made a blog just about fitness i
can maybe blog about that for a year or
two but after that I'd get bored after
that I just wouldn't have any passion
and there's only so many things that
could really be passionate to blog about
or talk about thats related to health
and fitness so I decided to create a
blog project life mastery not just
focused on health and fitness or making
money or motivation but I wanted to go
very broad and just talk about life talk
about everything that has benefited me
in my life or it will benefit me in the
future I want to be able to share with
you guys in videos and on my blog and so
that's exactly what I did I actually
went away from what a lot of people
recommended which was just focusing on a
specific niche and funny enough by
focusing on life mastery focusing on
areas of health fitness motivation time
management productivity making money
online internet marketing financial
freedom spirituality relationships
emotions by focusing on all those
different niches in different areas I've
been able to differentiate myself and
have a bit of an expat
sure because a lot of the people out
there that just talked about making
money online a lot of them don't really
have mastery over other areas of their
lives as well you know there could be a
great internet guru out there who makes
a lot of money online but his
relationships or disaster he's unhappy
and miserable you know he doesn't have
you know a great quality of life he's
not in great shape or have health or
energy or vitality or any of those other
things that I feel many ways are much
more important than just making money so
that's one way that I stand out and
differentiate myself is I enjoy talking
about all different subjects I feel like
I'm very qualified and know a lot and
have studied and mastered a lot of
different areas of my life and I'll also
been successful at a lot of different
areas of my life as well not just making
money but also also health fitness
relationships emotions and that's just a
way for me to differentiate and stand
out from other bloggers out there that
just talk about one thing okay so that's
one x factor for me another thing I
think it's really important as well is
when I looked at the blogging world a
lot of bloggers they just write right
they just have written articles and when
I looked at it you know I decided you
know what writing article is great but
you can't really communicate I feel in
the ways that you can by using videos or
audio and when you're writing a lot of
times I feel like maybe people don't
even read articles fully this is kind of
glanced over it or pretty much every
other bloggers out there has written
articles they don't do videos or audio
and stand out they're not putting
themselves out there in this sort of way
and I feel like the quality the depth of
what I could talk about and the ways I
could communicate just with my you know
verbal and nonverbal communication can
reach people and impact people in a much
deeper way and so I wanted to
differentiate in that way and not just
write written articles but also do
videos and a podcast as well and I feel
like people have many different ways of
learning you know some people more
auditory they like listening to things
maybe when they're at the gym or driving
a car they want to listen to a podcast
whereas other people they like watching
on youtube and other people you know
maybe just want to read an article and
so I've decided to do all three with
project life mastery which has been
another way that I've been able to stand
out and differentiate myself I think
that another way that you stand out is
just your personality and transparency
just because just my personality alone
the way that I speak and who I am my age
the way I dress all those sort of things
is a way of differentiating as well
because any time that anyone follows
anyone online whether it's an author or
a speaker or whatever it is people are
going to relate to different people more
than others a great example of this is
tony robbins vs brian tracy you know i
felt like in many ways brian tracy and
20 robbins were kind of like direct
competitors the closest competitors out
there to one another because they're
both kind of talking about the same
stuff a very similar message of goal
setting positivity you know
self-development and stuff like that and
they're both kind of the peak the top
people in their fields in the self
development industry Tony Robbins on one
hand is a very fast talker he's very
Chris matic he's very uh you know just
puts himself out there more is some
people people say he's a little bit
cheesy or corny in some ways but he has
a much different personality than Brian
Tracy brian tracy speaks very slowly
softly he is a little bit more serious
his information is really good and some
ways people say a little bit more
informative than Tony Robbins stuff and
you can just tell they have you know two
entirely different styles and ways of
communicating and a lot of way is the
same message and the one way they
differentiate is just by who they are
because some people enjoy Tony Robbins
and relate more to him other people
relate more to brian tracy and so I feel
like in many ways just your personality
and who you are is going to appeal to
some people and not appeal to other
people which is totally fine so just who
you are is a way of differentiating and
the transparency is well by sharing who
you are during
life your story uh you know letting
people into your world a little bit i
think that's another way to
differentiate and build a personal
connection with people because they get
a little know a little bit more about
you on that personal level so finding a
way to differentiate stand out like i
said is one of the most important things
in any business out there i'll give you
another great way that I stand out is
just my monthly goals reports you know
every single month me sharing my goals
sharing my good my my goals every year
and every month giving updates on that
and letting you guys into my world so
that you can see what i'm up to my life
what I'm taking the action on the goals
and I'm achieving the goals and I'm
bailing on that level of transparency is
another way of standing out and
differentiating myself from other people
out there I know people out there they
just have income reports and I I decided
you know what just talking about income
for me isn't that motivating because and
I think making money is great but that's
not the only thing in life I think
there's so many things that are so much
more important that I value more
personally such as my health my fitness
goals you know my lifestyle goals self
development goals and so I decided to
not just do income reports but also
share all the other goals they have in
my life also so how can you stand out
how can you differentiate yourself what
is your x factor in your business I
really encourage you to take the time to
really think about it so you know
because I think once you identify that
or maybe you might realize that you
don't really have one yours blending in
right now by asking yourself this
question it can allow you to come up
with new ideas in ways that you can
stand out from everyone else that you
can differentiate yourself and a stand
out in your market and I think that's
one core thing that all the most
successful brands and businesses have
been able to do is they've been able to
stand out in different ways and appeal
to people in a lot of different ways as
well and I think the important thing is
is to understand and accept the fact
that you're not going to be able to
speak to everybody and that's not your
goal you're not going to make everybody
happy you want you need to focus on a
subset of a certain audience and stand
out the best that you can in that way
and I think if you could do that you'll
build a great business with a lot of
leaving fans and have massive success
just doing it that way so hopefully you
