hey miles Beckler here coming from sunny
and beautiful Chiang Mai Thailand in
this video we're gonna talk quickly
about why is Chiang Mai Thailand such a
digital Nomad hotspot you know I've been
and I was here in Chiang Mai last month
or last year excuse me and I decided to
come up here for a month after my events
were done in Bangkok and in Phuket and
the reason why is because I need to get
done I mean get done mode I've
been conferencing I've been consuming
ideas I've been meeting people and it's
time to put things into practice and my
thought was where's the first place I
can go where's the quickest place I can
go that I can get in get an apartment
and get to work and get a lot done and
Chiang Mai Thailand is definitely at the
top of that list
and this is why Chiang Mai is such a hot
spot with digital nomads
and I think there's three main reasons
why it's such a digital Nomad hotspot
number one the price now here in Chiang
Mai you can get a fully furnished fully
serviced apartment for as little as like
25 thousand thai baht actually that's
kind of on the upper end to be honest
25000 thai baht per month which in u.s.
dollars is somewhere just under eight
hundred US dollars
you are totally able to find places here
in Chiang Mai for like two hundred baht
per night two hundred and fifty baht per
night for a private room if you're
interested in like the dorm style kind
of backpacker style accommodations they
go as low as a hundred baht per night
which is like three u.s. dollars per
night
so private rooms literally you can find
them for $10 u.s. $10 Canadian per night
is where they start at and then there's
a bunch of co-working spaces here which
are essentially kind of renovated
warehouses or renovated retail and
commercial buildings that have a bunch
of desks they have really good chairs
they have pretty good ergonomics and
it's essentially a place you can pay by
day week or month you can plug in set
your laptop up get some Wi-Fi access and
get work done so it's the kind of the
cost how low-cost it is compared to
Bangkok and compared to Phuket it's
really really inexpensive it's actually
surprising how inexpensive quote unquote
the good life is here number two I would
have to say is the community there's a
glow
whole group of digital nomads here
there's people from all over the world
here growing businesses whether it's FBA
businesses or memberships or kind of
information products or affiliate
products and a lot of people selling
services since they're all here you
really can't go down the street without
bumping into someone who's kind of in
that digital nomad scene you'll see a
bunch of DC shirts on you'll see a bunch
of dnx shirts on and if you get on the
Facebook groups there's a ton of meetups
they're always getting together there's
events of the bars at the pubs there's
meetup organizations to talk about
business and then there's the meetups
just for fun which are pretty awesome so
there's a sense of community here that's
really easy to plug into because of the
transient nature here whether you're
here for a week or a month or six months
or a year you're able to plug into these
meetups make some kind of establish some
new friends and it feels good to have
that kind of community around so really
we've started with the price being
really inexpensive and then second is
the community and I think the third
thing honestly is the food it's the
quality of food I love Thai food in my
opinion Thai food is like the best food
in the world it's healthy its
inexpensive and here in Chiang Mai it's
just got that extra kind of kick to it
you know it's got the extra northern
Thai spice and my wife and I were able
to go out to eat get a fantastic meal
with a couple of smoothies each and it
literally costs us under $8 us for the
meal for two there's a bunch of gourmet
coffee I'm talking like real true
hipster coffee if you're into the coffee
scene and the coffee coffee and cafe
culture here is it's pretty fantastic
for being in Asia it's absolutely on a
level if you want Indian food Thai food
if you want kind of western-style food
there's food from all over the world
here it's really inexpensive and there's
that kind of fun hip vibe so really I do
think if you haven't been to Chiang Mai
it's well worth visiting it's well worth
coming out to Chiang Mai to check it out
if you can stay for a month if you're
here for a month you can easily extend
your visa for another 30 days if you're
on a visa-on-arrival country and it's a
really easy place to plug into I've been
here two days I've already seen multiple
people I know who are digital nomads
just walking around
in looking for my apartment which we
found and we'll move into that tomorrow
and I'm gonna give you an update
tomorrow on the video on how we found
our apartment and how you can find an
apartment the easy way here in Chiangmai
