Willpower vs. Wantpower - How To Get Yourself To Do Anything



hey Stefan here from project life nasty
calm and this video blog I want to talk
to you about how you can get yourself to
do anything I'm gonna talk about the
difference between willpower and want
power
now willpower is our ability to get
ourselves to do something against our
will it's basically pushing and forcing
ourselves to take action towards what we
know we should do let's say you want to
push yourself to go to the gym or work
on your business or develop a new habit
or meditate or go out and socialize or
do whatever it might be read a book
anything that will power behind it is
pushing yourself to do it whenever
you're pushing yourself to do something
by using willpower it will never last
long turn because eventually the
willpower burns out because you're
expending so much energy trying to push
yourself against your will that that
leads to the inconsistencies that a lot
of people have and not only that it's
also a very painful process the
difference the other side of it is want
power being able to tap into that want
power is when you get yourself to want
to do something instead of having to do
it you it's more than get to instead of
have to don't want to when you can tap
into that side of yourself it's no
longer a push it's a pull it's like it
becomes effortless you just naturally
become pulled towards doing whatever it
is that you know you should do or want
to do you know my case going to the gym
each day exercising working out to the
point of exhaustion a pain and putting
myself through the grueling workouts
it's pleasurable it's requires no
willpower whatsoever actually parts more
willpower for me to not go to the gym
each day than it does to go to the gym
because I love the process of it I love
the way it makes me feel I love and
associate to all the benefits and all
the pleasure they get from that that
it's a pull I have a hard time taking
any days off of going in the gym because
I just love the process of it so much if
I had to push myself through willpower
then I'd only workout for a little while
so eventually I burn out I didn't want
to work out anymore so tapping into that
one power is key same thing goes with my
business I love what I do
I'm addicted
what I do I have a hard time not working
in fact I have a hard time taking days
off I go crazy when I don't because I
love it it's my mission it's my purpose
it's not a job it's not work for me it's
beyond that it's something that I feel
called toward it's a way for me to
contribute and give it feels like a
hobby for me it's something that could
view at 9 o'clock in the morning till 11
o'clock at night and it doesn't burn me
out in any way I have to get more energy
from doing it as opposed to it sucking
my energy and making me feel worse so it
actually adds an adult's to my energy in
so many ways because I have that love
and I'm addicted to the process I can do
it on evenings weekends seven days a
week
doesn't matter I'd love doing it because
I've tapped into that want power I feel
pulled towards my goals instead of
pushing towards it now how do you get
yourself to want to do something good
question the way you do is number one
you have to love what you're doing okay
you have to be passionate about it
now love and passion is just an emotion
and it's essentially associating
pleasure to whatever is that you want to
do it associating pleasure to the
process of what it is that you want to
do I associated so much pleasure to the
act of working out that this is so
pleasurable for me and I get so much
benefits from it and I focus on that
more than the pain of it for me the
pleasure is the benefits I get are the
confidence I get from it it's like a
therapy for me in many ways I get it
relaxes me and kind of gets rid of
stress and energy it helps me tap into
the masculine side of myself it helps
make me stronger and proves my physique
my confidence my self-esteem my
self-discipline
you know you get compliments from people
you feel good about yourself and how you
look and everything all those benefits
are what fueled me don't want to keep
doing it again and again and again and
go through that process each day I don't
focus on the pain you know coz I see the
benefits and I feel them firsthand and
in fact the more you get results and
whatever is that you do it feeds into
that also so when you start to get
results it gives you more pleasure and
it reinforces that which makes you want
to do it even more same thing in my
business I love the process of it
because the benefits that it gives me I
love being able to help people a lot be
able to make a difference
family grow myself I love be able to
build my own business that I get to
create myself and I have a vision for
that can change thousands and millions
of people around the world I love that I
love how it improves me and I get to
learn and grow from every video every
product that I release everything that I
put out it's an extension to myself and
who I am and it's my legacy that I gotta
make a difference on because I focus on
that a pleasure of that I feel pulled
towards doing it more and more and of
course when I get results when you make
money from doing something or you get
testimonials are great feedback and
people give you positive things or you
help other people may get results it
gives you more pleasure which makes you
even more addictive for you to want to
keep doing it again and again and so
that's all the pleasure of those things
are what pull me to want to do it more
and more and more now at the same time
I'm also more driven by pain and
pleasure right I talked about the
pleasure element but using pain to drive
you as powerful as well so I also
associates the pain of not doing it I
associate the pain of not working out
because for me the greatest pain is
being sick being overweight having low
self-esteem low self confidence look in
the mirror and not what liking what I
see the pain of that is so immense for
me that it lights a fire under my ass
and I feel even more pulled and were
compelled towards taking action to go to
the gym each day same thing in business
I associated to the pain of being broke
up
excuse me being broke begin debts not
having the freedom to do what I want
that is so painful for me good getting a
job is like the greatest pain ever
I had jobs early in my life and it was
so painful that I just could never go
back and so it pulls me to actually want
to do more and more in my business
towards where I want to go so if you can
associate to the pain that's powerful to
people that are really high achievers
people that really successful they're
almost more fearful than people that
aren't because we're more afraid of what
our life would be like if we don't take
action if you don't take those steps
towards where we want to go so that's
I'm not another powerful way to have
that pole factor how that once though
the one power the other thing is well
I'm gonna mention real quick is having a
vision that is so compelling that it
pulls you as well having a future that
is so incredible so remarkable so
compelling you can't wait for it to
happen
having that dream that vision that's so
exciting that can pull you towards it
having that powerful motivator like that
is what's gonna get you up early and
keep you up late and so you gotta define
what that is you're gonna define what is
your vision for your life you know it
could be materialistic things it could
be a certain relationship a lifestyle
freedom whatever it is a certain level
success of certain body a physique
whatever it might be
you gotta define what that is and you
have to make it so really compelling to
you and you gotta believe that you can
have it that that is what's gonna drive
you I know for me many times in my life
having goals that I just couldn't wait
to make happen is what drove me to move
towards them to take action towards it
so by defining that there's a lot of
power in that defining what that is and
visualizing it making it so clear that
you just can't wait to have an
experience in fact when you do visualize
it it should motivate you towards it
because you just can't wait to
experience it so that vision is powerful
you know when people say they're lazy
people aren't really lazy or bored they
just have incompetent goals they don't
have anything that really excites them
in their life when you have something
that excites you and you associate that
empowering purpose behind everything
that you do and you associate to the
pleasure of that that's when it becomes
a love and that's then it comes a pull
and it guess what
no more willpower is involved no more
just pushing yourself to do something
and then not being having it be
sustainable in any way and have it last
because you're pulled and for me that's
what allows me to work out each day
build my business go socialize take the
net the actions the steps learning
growing everything that I do it doesn't
require any willpower whatsoever it's
not like I have the lack of motivation
to do it it's like I love it I'm too
motivated to do it Everitt it's a
natural thing it's a natural
I've developed just through the process
that I shared with you guys so hope this
