I just wanted to let you know that

video I wanted to go over two books that
might help you throughout life or you
know helping you get your first social
media marketing client or you know your
third or fifth client whatever it may be
but these are two books that really
helped me and then at the end of the
video I'm gonna show you how to
troubleshoot a facebook ad being
disapproved because that was one area
that really frustrated me when I first
started running Facebook advertisements
you'll notice that Facebook has very
strict guidelines and sometimes most of
the time actually they won't even tell
you why your ad got disapproved and I'm
gonna show you how to troubleshoot that
so that you can quickly get around that
for your clients and you won't have to
worry if your clients are calling you up
hey are you done running the Facebook ad
can we please see it because that did
happen to me and I was super flustered
but I figured out a way to quickly
troubleshoot that so let's jump into the
books this is literally my all-time
favorite book when I first read this you
know I started my journey in self
development and business and
entrepreneurship it's called the seven
Habits of Highly Effective People by
Stephen Covey great book definitely
principles that I live by
throughout my life and the first habit
is being proactive right there's a
subtopic within there and being
proactive to your commitments whether
it's to yourself or to your clients or
to your you know friends and family but
I'm sure all of you have commitments
right you have commitments to be
successful within social media marketing
you have commitments to get your first
few clients within the next month or two
right and a part of you know sticking to
those commitments is not wasting
emotional and mental capital and what
does that mean so I had a client right
and this client this client isn't for
like I'm not managing their social media
this client is for business consulting
and I and I wanted to help him run you
know get his agency started and one of
his things that he he came to me he's
like you know what there's there's like
four other people in my town that I know
of that are in the private Facebook
group page and you know they're doing
the same thing as me running their
agencies and I think there's a lot of
competition there's too much competition
in my town and and I stopped him right
there
I said stop stop stop you thinking about
that wasting emotional and mental
capital on thinking about the
competition or thinking about you know
things that are hindering you from
progressing forward that alone is
breaking your commitment to yourself so
you know highly successful people don't
waste time they don't waste mental
capital on thinking about their
competition or thinking about you know
how hard it is or thinking about if they
can do this or not or is this is this
gonna seem like a scam to people you
know there there's no limiting beliefs
whatsoever
that's really what has allowed me and
especially my buddy Tanner to and anyone
you know successful in their field to
move forward because we're not thinking
about the hard aspects of you know
getting clients we're not thinking about
what if this doesn't work we're not
thinking about oh well will this person
think I'm weird if I'm offering my
services to them like it's a common
thing like I I had these thoughts when I
first started out in business
or even in trading in the stock market I
had these thoughts and I only I noticed
that it was just wasted mental capital
and it was just it was hindering me from
progressing so once you can stick to
your commitments be proactive with doing
that and not waste time thinking about
all the things that could go wrong
you'll notice you'll progress that much
faster so I thought that would be a
valuable tool for you so let me show you
this book again seven Habits of Highly
Effective People by Stephen Covey I
recommend you get it really good
principles in here another book I have
inaudible is called how to win friends
and influence people by Dale Carnegie
definitely a great book with tons of
great principles one of them is in
Chapter one actually he talks about if
you want the honey don't kick over the
Beehive and this really applied to my
meeting yesterday not with Alex but with
someone he introduced me to I made a
rookie mistake I went in there flaunting
the you know everything that we offer
these people right everything that we
offer the businesses we want to help we
have we have a great service that we
want to offer them but sometimes if
you're you know too excited about you
know offering what you can do for them
this is what I could do I hear here's
what you're not doing you know I'm gonna
do this for you you're not connecting
with them right if you go in asking them
what they need and really connecting
with them on a deeper level like asking
them what are their deepest fears or
what what is some weak points that they
really want to work on it's better to
understand what they want before they
can understand what you want to give
them right so a quote from that chapter
I mean the the principle was if you want
honey don't kick over the Beehive a
quote from that chapter was when dealing
with people we aren't dealing with
creatures of logic but with creatures of
emotion so when you're going into your
meeting right you're going in maybe it's
your first time meeting
owner business owner prospective client
if you can position the conversation to
just ask them questions to figure out
what they need and probe them you know
with questions that will help you better
understand what you can give them that's
gonna help you drastically rather than
offering what you can do because what I
did
for instance rookie mistake I went into
this meeting and I was saying like yeah
I could run these Facebook advertisement
for you let me show you I was so excited
you know I was like rookie mistake you
know showing him you know all the
demographics I could target this and
that and he looked at me he said yeah I
I know all that yep I've ran Facebook
advertisements before and then I was
like oh well have you done this how you
know how did those how did that
advertisement work for you
he's like went well it went well you
know and I thought to myself I'm like
man what did I do wrong well the thing
that I did wrong is I didn't ask him
what he actually needed because what he
actually needed it was very a basic
simple service he just needed someone to
post content for him and instead of
asking him questions on what he needed I
went into you know what I can provide
instead of seeking out what he needed so
that was one thing that I definitely
didn't apply the principles that I've
learned from you know this book how to
win friends and influence people by Dale
Carnegie I didn't apply that principle
and you know I left that meeting you
know not down on myself because I'm not
gonna wait again I'm not gonna waste
mental capital thinking oh I could have
done this I could have done that I
thought of it as an opportunity of how I
can do better next meeting right so
hopefully those books can help you out I
suggest you check them out if you've
already read them you know exactly what
I'm talking about right now but it's
it's harder to actually implement these
principles into your life but when you
do it works out so much better because I
notice every client that I have gotten
so far I implemented those principles so
and I stuck by them but it's it's really
a habit you have to perform
and you have to keep yourself
accountable so I hope those help let's
jump into the Facebook ad I want to show
you how to troubleshoot that and get
your ad approved so let's jump over to
the computer alright so we're here on my
screen the first thing you're gonna
notice is when you put in your Facebook
ad usually it's gonna it's gonna say in
review if it takes longer than an hour
I've never had an ad that got approved
take longer than a couple minutes
usually gets approved right away but if
it takes longer than an hour for
instance this one was taking me eight
hours to get approved and then I got a
message saying disapproved didn't meet
Facebook guidelines didn't give me a
description of why or how or what I can
change so what I did was I changed
everything I changed the picture I took
the logo out I changed most of the
writing but there was a key section of
the writing that I didn't even know was
offensive to people so what you're gonna
do is you know go in google and type in
submitting your Facebook ad to appeal
okay and it's gonna bring you to this
page appeal a disapproved ad because
this is to get the to get quickest
results they even approved my ad even
though I didn't change anything they
just said hey for next time you know
don't do this but we're gonna prove it
anyway so I I do got a change to add
because it didn't isn't performing as
well probably because of the copyright
within the ad so I need to change some
of the wording and everything like that
so you can go to appeal they disapproved
ad you're gonna click on that and this
was actually that the problem with the
ad I'll show you but you're gonna come
to this page and then you're gonna say
I'm referring to this ad and then you
understand blah blah blah describe your
problem right and then press send and
it's gonna send that to the Facebook ad
team and they're gonna get back to you
real quick this was for a gym that I was
running that I'm running a current ad
for
and this is the message I got when I
came back about ten hours later so I
described my problem I said I've changed
the text in the ad and I also took out
the logo of the photo and the ad still
won't get approved I've redone this ad
and it has no explicit content
whatsoever and follows the guidelines of
Facebook it also leads to a fully
functioning page in URL can you please
tell me what I'm doing wrong they
quickly replied I mean it took ten hours
which is not very quick but quicker than
you know you trying to redo the ad over
and over again their reply was hi Ryan
Thanks for writing in your ad wasn't
approved because the body title text
calls out to a specific user attribute
such ads may offend the users and lead
to high negative sentiment ads should
not single out individuals or degrade
people we don't accept language like
need help getting back into shape so I
included that copyright into the ad I
said need help getting back into shape
you know I did personally I didn't think
it was degrading you know is just simply
stating you know you know do you want to
get help help get be getting back into
the best you know fitness of your for
summer you know something like that I
mean need to help getting back into
shape I didn't think that was degrading
but apparently it is which I totally you
know want to follow Facebook guidelines
so you know I I am going about changing
this and but what else is it and the
like instead the text must present
realistic and accurate information in a
neutral or positive way and should not
have any direct attribution to people so
you know they got back to me quick they
approved the ad because I did appeal it
they approved it anyways even though I
left that copyright in there I'm going
to change it because the ad isn't
performing as well but yeah that's
that's pretty much how you you know
appeal it disapproved ad you know I'm
gonna recap that you go here on Google
just search submitting your Facebook ad
to appeal click on this
first link it's gonna come here you're
gonna say why you're referring to this
ad and why you want to appeal it and
then in your support inbox on your
profile page they're gonna message you
back I would say this is the quickest
way to get help rather than trying to
redo your ad over and over and over
again without them telling you exactly
what you did wrong so hope that helps
