hey miles here miles Becker calm in this
video you're gonna learn about the seven
core conversion optimization techniques
for internet marketers and content
marketers what we're gonna look at are
those seven core places within your
website and your funnel that make all
the difference in your business these
are the places that you generate leads
these are the places that you convert
leads into sales and this is really what
grows your business there's seven key
points that I'm identified that we're
gonna go through here today and at the
end you're gonna learn how my
integration specialist and his team of
WordPress developers can do all of the
development side of things with all of
these pieces of the puzzle for you for
one low flat fee but first let's talk
about those seven key components because
again if you're not growing a list if
you're not essentially converting
traffic in the leads and leads into
customers you're ultimately not growing
a business online so the first place at
number one is your opt-in funnel now
whether you're doing podcasting whether
you're blogging through WordPress or
creating a platform on YouTube you need
to be growing an email list and how you
go about this is a little bit different
based on which content method you're
using if you're starting out with a
podcast or with YouTube your homepage
could actually be your opt-in page right
but if you're doing the blogging world
and you're going all in on the written
word with WordPress which is a great
method then you're probably going to
want to place your opt-in page on a sub
page for example mine is at miles becker
column ford size free - course my
homepage is not my opt-in page but when
i was first getting started with this
channel and i was barely able to get my
focused on my daily content I just had
that at my home page right so the number
one thing is for you to get your opt-in
page up and running next is number two
- split test on your opt-in page and you
might be like well what do I split test
well there's a few key things that you
want to test first is the offer itself
for me when I first started I started
offering an abundance meditation and
then I went on to testing a facebook
case study against that the Facebook
case study performed better eventually I
tested this free course that I have that
I'm giving away now that is performing
the best so testing
the offer is the first thing then you
want to test the headline on the opt-in
page as well and then eventually you
want to test the layout maybe try
something with simple white backgrounds
which proves to work really well for me
on my brand you might want to try
something with different colors with an
image background which has proven to
work for my wife spread before so
there's the layout
there's the copy and the offer itself
are the three things that you test in
part two again we're simply trying to
refine the opt-in funnel at first and
while you're doing all of this you need
to make sure you're putting out your
daily content whether you're doing your
podcasting your youtubing or your
blogging this is in addition you don't
stop the content marketing machine to
work on this this is in addition to the
daily content that you're putting out
number three are the content overlays
now this obviously is more important if
you're doing the written word blogging
or if you have a system to turn your
podcast episodes and blog posts excuse
me your podcast episodes into blog posts
and your youtube videos into blog posts
so what are the content overlays the
most common one that you're super
familiar with is the pop-up right you go
to a page and about five six seconds in
you get a pop-up offering you a free
thing another very common one is what's
called a welcome gate or a welcome mat
this is where it takes over your whole
screen when you first load the page you
either click X or scroll down to get to
the actual content other ones are
ribbons which are top bars or bottom
bars that offer your giveaway and
there's something called a fly in that
when you kind of get to a certain level
on the page down below you get that
fly-in popping up now I generally use
the same headline that is on my opt-in
page that I tested from steps one and
two in my content overlays and this is
actually for my wife who she started out
writing she's blogging most of her leads
come from these content overlays so if
you're doing the written word approach
and that's your main method of content
creation and content marketing as the
written word these are vitally important
to your success and you'll see more
growth from your list through the
content overlays
generally speaking the pop up now for
the miles Becker brand I initiate
everything with these YouTube videos but
I have a team going in using Trent and
transcribing essentially making long
form blog posts out of my video content
that's where I display my content
overlays and that is proving to actually
convert better than my actual opt-in
pages because what happens is very few
people leave youtube to go to my opt-in
page it does happen but more people are
finding my content in the written word
through Google then reading some of my
content and ultimately opting in for my
free thing when they see that pop-up so
that's a really powerful method you may
not be there if you're just doing
podcasting or blogging right oh or
excuse me podcasting are you tubing
right away this might be something for
you to work up to but if you're using
the written word and blogging as your
main method of content creation this is
a key for you so number four is a custom
homepage now this again is very very
relevant if you have a content marketing
strategy that includes the written word
if you're just doing YouTube or you're
just doing a podcast you may want to
have your home page be only an opt-in
page but if you're doing the written
word content you want to have a custom
home page because a lot of times people
will visit one of your deep links that
they find from the Google search engine
results page right they'll search for a
keyword phrase how-to blank they'll find
one of your blog posts this deep within
your site they'll read that limit wow
this is pretty good I want to go check
out who this person is I want to learn
more so what do they do they go to the
URL they remove what's after the forward
slash they go to your homepage because
they want to know who you are and I
recommend on your custom home page that
you haven't opted in above the fold so
that means when your home page loads you
have an opt-in right up top
my wife and I are both executing this
and it actually converts really well for
the number of visitors that go to our
home page the kind of goofy thing is the
home page is not our highest traffic
page on our site although some people
might think it is
it's those deep internal pages that get
picked up by Google they actually get
all the traffic but when people go look
at who is this person it's good to
reinforce that offer of your free thing
on your home page I think it's also
really good to have a bit about who you
are what you do why you're the person
who can help them and also have a blog
role a blog role is essentially a self
updating area that's going to
reintroduce people to your newest blog
posts it'll show maybe the six or nine
most recent blog posts if you want to
see this all in action you can go to

that's my custom home page there and
you'll see my blog rules there that's
actually for the search engine spiders
so when Google sends its bots to go
check if anything's changed with my
website every day when I have a new blog
post they enter through the home page so
they'll see that new blog post in my
blog role every time they come back and
there's something new okay number five
on the list is your sales page and
obviously the split tests within your
sales page this is when you get to the
point where you're offering whether it's
coaching whether it's one-on-one
sessions whether it's actually a service
a membership or kind of a fixed duration
product like a video course or an audio
course or even a PDF ebook so the items
you can test is number one obviously the
offer right what do they want an e-book
do they want a video course what is that
thing the offer that they actually want
number two is testing a video sales
letter versus a text-based sales letter
number three would be the headline
testing the headline itself and then
also you might want to test this sales
page in this item this product has a
one-time offer and a one-time offer
means that you show that sales page on
the page after they opt-in and at this
point you've built yourself a little
funnel right and that's kind of the
progress you can start by getting your
opt-in page done get your opt-in offer
dialed get your headline and your
content that converts the best on the
opt-in done first running traffic and
keeping your content marketing going the
whole time and then you take what you
learn from that and from any surveys
that you offer your audience inside of
the autoresponder sequence then you
create the sales product the product the
sales page etc the sales copy that way
you can then help convert leads into
customers then the number six item that
you want to work on creating conversion
points for your audience is a one-click
upsell and a one-click upsell is
displayed after the user checks out
right so at this point you have someone
who's become a lead and then they go in
and see one of your offers for a paid
product and they've gone in through the
checkout process when they're in the
checkout process their credit card
payment remains open and you present a
second offer to them and they can click
yes and it'll add that second product to
the checkout
or they say no and it won't add that
product to the checkout and it'll simply
close that transaction now to put this
in perspective I've gone through a very
long list I'm at number six there's one
more to go but at this point my wife and
I took many years to get all of this set
up step one for us was to get our
content marketing machine going so we
can begin to drive traffic step two was
to really figure out what is the opt-in
offer that they want and then step three
for us was really to figure out what are
those things people want to buy and we
worked on each of these individually we
always kept the content and still keep
the content marketing machine running
we still email our lists almost every
single day so all of these plates are
still spinning right content marketing
play is spinning you got the email
marketing plate that's spinning and then
you have to come up with a time to
create the sales copy the products and
these other items it's a lot of work
which is why I'm gonna introduce you to
a tech team that can help you at least
remove the tech side of things for a
really inexpensive kind of 1:1 price per
month then on the one-click upsell you
want to test the offer itself what is
that thing you're offering it could be
coaching it could be access to a
Facebook group it could be an additional
product that is relevant to what they
purchased the headline and then video
sales letter or the copy on the page
that you actually described it I think
with one-click upsells you want to have
very short videos like three minute
videos should be maximum of that and
then number seven would be a custom
child theme now a child theme is
essentially a customized version of a
theme and everything I've explained here
can be done within thrive themes which
is what I use which is what I recommend
and a custom child theme is the overall
look of the blog most people think this
is an important thing to work on and I
can't keep publishing until I get my
child theme dialed that is so backwards
to what successful people do successful
people focus on putting out the content
first and then once they have a big bulk
of content they've got their five core
pages they've got 10 to 20 blog posts at
that point they can start to think about
customizing the theme but the really
important thing you want to think about
doing when you customize your theme is
how do you build in ad placements and
essentially short codes so you can add
your opt-in to every blog post without
having to man
do so and when I say add-in ad areas
those ads simply promote your products
and they simply promote your opt-ins and
when you can build a custom child theme
in a way that actually has this embedded
into every single post so all you do is
focus on typing your post and when your
post goes live it's got an internal ad
for your opt-in it's got an internal ad
for one of your products and it's got a
couple of short code areas built into it
that further promotes your opt-in so
when a visitor finds your content
they're seeing a lot of the different
options that you offer them that right
there is the seven main conversion
techniques that I use that my wife is
used that we've used to generate
hundreds of thousands of leads and
really create a massively successful
business again it's important for you to
remember that there's this is a process
and you can never stop doing the content
marketing work because you have to
continue that game my wife and I had the
benefit of me running behind the scenes
doing all these little conversion
optimization tech updates and upgrades
to our site while she maintained her
focus on creating the content creating
the products creating the headlines and
the sales copy so we divided and
conquered and in talking with my friend
