miles here miles Becker calm in this
video you're gonna learn about Maslow's
hierarchy of needs this is a theory from
psychology that was originally
introduced in 1943 this is very
applicable to internet marketers to
entrepreneurs because it really looks at
the motivations driving human psychology
human psychology is everything humans
act on their emotions and this needs to
be kind of thought about when you're
creating your copy when you're creating
your offers when you're creating your
content marketing even when you're
choosing your niche we're going to start
out by covering what the theory is and
how that applies to you and your
marketing and then after that I've got
55 different niche ideas that I'm going
to kind of rattle off and show you how
they fit into this model so you can
maybe get an idea a new idea for a niche
if you haven't chosen your niche yet or
possibly get a little aha moment on how
to niche down to get more targeted to
speak with your niche but first let's
talk about the actual theory itself
essentially it's the different levels of
motivation that govern what we humans
give our attention to it's generally
drawn out as a pyramid at the base of
the pyramid you have the physiological
needs these are like air water food
kind of required human needs to live
without any one of these you are
incredibly uncomfortable right like if
you're trying to live without shelter or
you're trying to live without clothing
that is a drastic problem in the world
of being a human being once you get
those physiological needs sorted out you
move up to the next level which is
safety now this is personal safety this
is financial security this is your
health this is your well-being and this
is really kind of preventative
maintenance towards like acute issues
like illnesses etc as you move up from
the safety you get to these social
levels right so when you kind of sort
out those safety needs then as a human
you naturally want to focus on the more
social levels this is where you get into
intimacy notice I said sex earlier that
was more of a reproductive trigger now
you're getting into the world of
intimacy into the world of love
relationships friendships family
community and the interesting part when
you get as far as community this could
mean something as similar as getting
into the kind of the world of street
gangs or the world of religion
oftentimes people are involved in both
of these and even team sports right that
is a form of community and that is the
third level up the fourth level up which
is the second to last is esteem this is
getting into kind of the ego and the
status needs right this is your
professions your hobbies and a lot of
the different vanity metrics right this
is where Ferraris come into play and
people who have all their other needs
met they're trying to start to show off
a little bit and then the top is
self-actualization and
self-actualization is getting into the
world of human potential
the idea here is when you have all of
your needs fulfilled you begin to desire
new levels of wanting to accomplish
everything that's possible for you
wanting to see what you're truly made of
and what you can accomplish you begin to
also change the focus from you to others
and this is where you start to get to
that level of how can I help others how
can I leave a legacy um later in his
study Maslow who created this he
actually modified it to self
transcendence so this is kind of where
philanthropy comes into play and when
again it's it's not about the self
anymore
if the ego mind has dissolved it's much
more about the community that people the
others helping others achieve so those
are the different levels and if you
think about this from a standard
marketing standpoint right from like
your copywriting from the angle at which
you're meeting people all of your
audience members are at different levels
within the different kind of stages of
the pyramid right if you're talking to
someone and you're trying to sell them
beauty cream right you're selling a
wrinkle cream let's say that means
you're working up in the esteem level
but if your audience is actually down in
a physiological problem they're never
going to meet you where you're at this
is the idea that you need to meet your
audience where they are on their level
of awareness and this is another way of
looking at their different levels of
awareness also it's important to realize
that at the lower levels
is more urgent so the physiological
problems and the safety problems are
more urgent of problems to people which
means they're going to be more proactive
searching for them and there's also
going to be more people in that area
versus the kind of esteem level and the
self-actualization level you're gonna
have a lot less people in that kind of
area and it's no longer an urgent need
our people on a self-actualization path
urgently going towards their goals not
really they're doing their research
they're focusing on it they want to live
a kind of more fulfilled life at that
point but they're not urgently trying to
solve big problems in their life and as
a marketer your world begins easy when
you become a problem solver for others
so the sweet spot for you as a niche
marketer as an internet marketer or even
a local brick-and-mortar marketer is in
those first three levels the
psychophysiological excuse me the safety
level and the social level that's the
easiest place to meet people where
they're at those are the most urgent
emotional needs they're generally driven
by emotions so people are more willing
to take action and oftentimes that's
where people are searching for specific
keywords they're consuming content
they're ready to take action to better
themselves to better their situation and
improve their lives and when you meet
them at that conversation that they're
having in their head because of that
emotional level they're operating from
and you speak to that and you connect
with them there and you help them see
that your solution will help them get to
that next level that is exactly when
they're gonna fall in love with your
content they'll opt-in for your offers
if it's the right offer they'll begin to
take action on what you have I hope that
makes sense and at this point we're
gonna transition into the different
niche ideas and I'm gonna rattle a bunch
of them off some of them were gonna talk
about a little bit more deeply but what
this is gonna do and even if you've
already chosen your niche be sure to
stick in here because you're gonna see
how the different niches apply not just
a one area but too many areas and I'm
gonna be able to comment on how one
niche idea can actually be in multiple
different locations this is going to
give you an idea even if you're already
niche marketing of how you can meet
different segments of your audience at
the different emotional levels of where
they are at because again I can't stress
this enough when you meet them
emotionally where they're at with the
conversation that they're having an
head and you kind of step into that
conversation with them through your
content through your advertisements
through your offers and you help them
accomplish and solve the emotional needs
that they're going after and looking to
solve you become the trusted advisor
this is a key to success long-term
online so we're gonna start at the lower
level we're gonna start in the
physiological level with a bunch of
niche ideas and I'm gonna work my way up
this is not conclusive and these are not
what I would say these aren't fully
drilled down if you find one of these
interesting if something sparks and
you're like wow I have an overlap with
that I acknowledge about that I'm
interested in that I could do something
about that you still want to find a
unique angle a way to niche down a way
to maybe create or put a little twist on
that niche and I'll be giving you little
examples of how that works generally
that comes from you from in your heart
from your experiences alright so on the
physiological level again this is food
water shelter sleep air clothing and sex
the basics of life right so water
filters my wife and I we have hard water
in our house so I have a water softener
in the house which uses some sort of a
salt based solution to kind of remove
the hardness of the water and then we
run it through a reverse osmosis system
which removes the salt and then we run
it through a kind of charcoal and
remineralisation and alkalization filter
okay I mention that because literally in
this house I mean I've got like three
different series of filtration that I'm
working on now people are really really
interested in what's going on in their
water you probably know that Flint
Michigan still does not have clean water
there's fluoride being put in there's
chlorine being put into water there's a
lot of people who are on wells that have
agricultural waste inside of their water
so water is a core need people can't go
try going three days without water
actually don't that's a terrible idea
like like water is a core need of life
my point with that is like humans die if
they don't have water that's why it's a
core need so there's a great niche
potential for water people for someone
to explain the different things that are
in the water how to test their water how
to find out what the problems are with
the water and then how to find out the
different solutions for the water
whether it's murky filters PI mag
filters ro filters whole house filters
fridge filters etc there is a huge
opportunity for a niche site there
the van life idea right so in the
physiological need of shelter there's
this whole kind of van life and school
II which is this kind of converting a
school bus to a home even all the way to
our veers right some retirees baby
boomers give up on the house they empty
nest they get down into an RV and they
literally live out of their RV whether
they've got land up north for the summer
and they hang out in Arizona in the
winter whatever it is of the van life is
a huge trend going on right now
Millennials are moving into vans and
living more nomadic lifestyles those are
huge and then the schooling school buses
is a huge niche um in the physiological
sleeping how to fall asleep in under
sleeping there's several sub niches
right so you wouldn't necessarily want
to go into this sleep niche as like I'm
the the sleep guy I do everything with
sleep there's obviously the bedding the
comfort for sleep there's how to fall
asleep quickly there's how to remain
asleep
some people have troubles remaining
asleep there's how to get into deep
sleep some people don't get deep sleep
then you go even farther into like some
potential respiratory disorders if you
have one or you know someone who has one
not being able to breathe at night
needing CPAP filters being able to
review those different kinds of devices
that help people breathe at night and
then in the physiological you have the
acute pain and the acute illness stage
when someone has an acute illness or
pain or they have severe diabetes or
rheumatoid arthritis or any of these
kind of challenges in life that they're
they're really this is a huge problem
they can't think about those upper
levels I can't think about
self-actualization they can't think
about social or safety because they're
engulfed with this challenge this
physical challenge due to an illness you
could potentially help them solve that
whether it's through solving it through
diet solving it through exercise
routines strength whatever it is you
would want to find a unique take on how
to help them solve that problem you
become their advocate generally speaking
this works best when it's you or a
family member and you actually have
experience solving the problem it always
comes down to being able to help people
and it's easier to help people when
you've actually done that thing before
so that's kind of the basics of the
physiological needs let's go up to the
safety now there's probably more people
online searching for solutions in the
safety level right they're kind of in
that second safety level then then the
lower levels right so in the safety
level this is the prepper and the server
I will Mitch you know digital marketer
has a brand called survival life they
have a knife brand that is one of their
biggest kind of best brands there's the
so there's the prepper there's a
survival niche that includes like having
freeze-dried food having water storage
it can go all the way as far as like
martial arts um guns combats gun heads
are known to be notoriously passionate
about their guns so there's a huge
market inside the gun market the knife
market the everyday carry market all
fits into that you also have the money
and the marketing in here right like
this is where people are thinking about
financial security as well and for some
people who are on the younger end of the
spectrum they might be in the cash flow
generating years so there's the how to
make money ideas and then there's people
in the later years who are in the I want
to preserve my wealth years the baby
boomers who want to kind of protect
themselves from a potential market crash
or get into annuities and all kinds of
interesting different things that happen
at that point so everything from
entrepreneurial to investment to how to
write a resume how to get a job right
these are other ways that the making
money because most people do look to a
job a traditional job maybe how to get
out of being a server and get into the
office world is one of those kinds of
sub Mitch's you also in this kind of
safety level this is where you get into
the insurance right it's safety against
accidents and illness so insurance would
fall into place here health and
prevention this is where people get into
preventative maintenance mode and you
might find this is where the veganism
world lies because some vegans want to
consume plant-based diets because it's
easier to digest and they believe that
it's a potential cancer prevention I'm
just kind of giving you ideas of why
someone would be in this because there
is a social aspect to veganism as well
right there's that brand like I'm a
vegan I'm one of those people so you can
look at that one little sub niche on the
two different levels and it's
interesting that different people are
going to look for those solutions
they're coming from different areas
someone who has seen cancer ravished
someone in their family and they want to
make sure they're on a preventative diet
now it's going to need a safety based
communication model right that headline
is going to need to talk to them where
they're at versus someone who
wants to be even more hipster there in
BC they got the man bun they got the
full Jesus beard and they're like dude
I'm not hipster enough I'm going all
vegan because that's how I can become
even more hipster and you're gonna talk
to hipster guy who's going for social
verification and reasons to being vegan
versus safety now I just went on a total
tangent Jess if you're watching I Love
You Man he's mister man bum full beard I
don't mean to poke fun at anyone I'm
trying to just use clear identification
ideas to help you see that one niche can
be met at different levels and it's
important for you to think about your
niche and where are what are the
emotional needs that people are
attempting to solve carrying on now
we're up to the social level here's
where you get dating relationships self
esteem and underneath of these there's
so many different sub mitches right
there's women trying to get dates with
guys there's women trying to get dates
on tinder there's women trying to find
marriages there's guys trying to hook up
there's guys trying to find dates
there's guys trying to find long-term
relationships there's Christian
relationships there's vegan
relationships there's so many subsets
from just that relationship world and
then you have the whole marriage side
right like how to propose when to
propose who to kind of work with like if
you have marriage problems how to solve
marriage problems there's a lot of
different ways that relationship can
manifest beyond the dating level right
there's those other levels of it this
also gets into self-esteem this self
esteem is a huge part of relationships
loving thyself you can't really like
overflow love to someone else until you
love yourself so there's that whole side
of it as well in the social aspect you
start to get into the hobbies and the
games so golf fishing horseback riding
travel all of these things can be social
you'll notice they can also be esteem so
like polo right horseback riding and
playing polo this is a major status
symbol if you know somebody who plays
polo you understand it requires a team
of horses an insane amount of people and
energy and money to play polo on a
regular level so there's there's the way
that polo or that at some section or
subset of horses could be a social thing
they want the team aspect they want to
play polo they want to be a part of a
group but there's also the aspect of the
esteem they want to show off I'm this
guy I have a polo estate I play on a
polo team I'm able to bring six eight
twelve horses out to any
because I'm that baller so even in that
it shows the differences um golf I think
esteem
there's the country club lifestyle but
then there's people who just love the
game and love to go walk out in nature
and they want to get a little bit better
at it in the social world you also have
video games there is so much like a
there's this whole niche and world of
pro gamers but B there's people on
Twitch and on YouTube and doing lines
who are literally teaching other people
how to get better at the games they love
there's a whole market under video games
and then you get into board games magic
in the gathering Dungeons & Dragons
those are old-school kind of geeky board
games that I bring up because they have
such big cult followings you would need
to sub niche down but there's also new
ones there's the cards against
humanity's there's people who love board
games and they want to read reviews of
other board games and you could be that
person who reviews all the different
board games I think in the social aspect
you also get into beer and wine whether
it's beer making and wine making or
whether it's beer and wine travel it
could be travel based on beer and wine I
think travel is also in that social
world making beer craft beer craft wine
fine wines wine based travel for your
based travel etc that wraps up a few
ideas on the social level getting up to
the esteem level this is where you get
into the luxury brands this is where you
get into the fancy watches I mean any
watch there's more than a Casio or more
than you know a timepiece which your
phone actually keeps time it's jewelry
at that point right it's people trying
to flash that yo I got 10 grand on my
wrist I got a hundred grand on my wrist
I got a grand on my wrist they're trying
to flash through esteem they're trying
to get status by what they're wearing
luxury bands luxury brands such as bags
right the Louis Vuitton bags the Coach
bags whatever else bags there are out
there with the fancy labels of fancy
brands people buy those not just to
carry their things but they buy them
because of the status that is associated
with them Ferraris is an example I've
used recently there's a status symbol
Lamborghini that is not a device just to
get you from point A to point B that is
a device to help you get from point A to
point B while showing the world how cool
you think you actually are right and
also how rich you think you are but most
you who drive those are probably
financing them who knows so bags cars
boats or in this area in the esteem
level you get the beauty style and
fashion worlds right and then under the
Beauty you can go as far as like the
weight loss niche um
you get the get ripped niche is in this
point right so when someone's physically
fit but they want to get absolutely
chiseled this is much more of a symbol
of look at what I've been able to do
with my body it's beyond the basics of
Health it's beyond the safety of I want
to be in good shape it gets that level
of I want to show off how good a shape
I'm at so that weight loss or the the
health and fitness can literally be in
the physiological level which is kind of
the lowest level based on I'm trying to
solve a physical problem I have in my
life a physical health problem to the
safety I just want to be preventative
maintenance with my food and with my
diet I want to make sure I live a long
happy healthy life and then in the
social or actually in the esteem level
the social level could be I want to go
to a gym because I want to have some
workout Broz to hang out with then the
esteem level would be I want to be the
fittest dude in the world I want to be
like Arnold was and mr. Olympia or mr.
universe or whatever it was in those
days again it's the same theory applied
at different levels and you need to meet
people with your sub niche and what
you're talking to every person who wants
to find you is solving an emotionally
need and that emotional need is on one
of these levels it's driven by one of
these innate drives all of us humans
have so you need to figure out where you
are with your niche meet people where
they're at and help them solve that
emotional need that is driving them in
that moment anti-aging anti-aging is
another thing and that's when you get
into like even like the weird stuff like
the Botox is and you know it can get
really like as women sometimes get older
they want to do a lot of things to try
to look younger
um Beverly Hills like Santa Monica just
go hang out there for a couple days and
you'll get what I mean if you don't get
it already then the very top is the
self-actualization level this is what
you're talking about like transcendence
this is a lot of the the meditation
spiritual development courses you can
get into social entrepreneurship right
entrepreneurs who are trying to do good
in the world you get into the nonprofit
world the volunteer world here I'm
energy healing spirituality hypnosis
speed reading productivity NLP and
memory I actually put up here because I
think someone who wants to speed redid
the goal there is to actually consume
more to learn more to become more
helpful potentially authors speakers and
that whole human potential movement the
Brendon Burchard and the Tony Robbins is
all play in this
for world and that's why at a Tony
Robbins event you'll see professional
musicians professional athletes who have
made millions and millions of dollars
they've kind of worked their way up
they've got the social they've got the
esteem level stuff and there's still
something missing and they're trying to
find what that empty hole is inside of
them because they don't have fulfillment
they they did what their mom said they
played basketball they did with their
coaches said they play basketball they
got the scholarships they became Pro
they went to the NBA they made their
millions of dollars and they're like
dude that was kind of let down like it
wasn't as cool as everybody made it seem
because there's something else missing
that's that top level of
self-actualization that's a lot of what
my wife and I work on in our main
business is is a lot of that
self-actualization but I'll be honest
with you um social helping people have a
spiritual community to plug into to talk
about the different things that people
going through spiritual awakenings of
spiritual growth go through is big for
us
the safety also even physiological right
the the ability to reduce stress by
listening to a guided meditation that
helps you feel better that helps wash
away the stress that helps you kind of
be a better parent with your kids etc so
even our meditations yes they can be
looked upon as self actualization level
but they definitely help and meet people
at many different levels those are all
of the levels that we offer so our sales
material talks about all of those
different levels of what our membership
and what our products solve for people
there's the social aspect through our
community there's the being able to wash
away stress so you can live a higher
vibrational life there's tuning in to
your highest calling and learning to
live and walk your highest path on this
earth so we're able to hit all of those
different levels for our product in one
sales letter so whether someone's at the
lower level the middle level or the
upper level we are making sure our sales
copy speaks to them at some point in the
video sales letter or the sales copy
whew I just ran off a big list of niches
and marketing ideas I think this is
absolutely huge when I learned this I
live in this probably 15 years ago and
have really taken this to heart and
really understanding that the lower
levels here in the physiological safety
and social is where the biggest
opportunity lies the lower levels are
going to be more urgent of problems but
in the physiological area you don't
always get people searching online
for what their solutions are right
that's in the safety realm you really
get people searching online I think the
whole prepper space the survival space
the guns the combat the the martial arts
the MMA s that whole safety world I
think is probably one of the biggest
markets available that and social the
dating the relationships the self-esteem
then you get into the the golf the
fishing the horseback the travel all
those different kind of hobbies that fit
in all the way to the videos the beer
the wine the board games I'm an insane
number of opportunities and niches out
there for you at some point you just
need to choose one you need to dig in
and remember that you're going to pivot
no matter what you're gonna make changes
you're gonna adapt from what you first
choose so just make the best choice you
can and remember your goal is always to
meet people where they're at emotionally
psychologically because it's the
emotions that are actually driving
decisions we all think we're in control
and our thoughts and our brain is
running the show it's not our hearts our
emotions are absolutely driving us what
are they driving us towards these five
main needs physiological needs once
those are met safety needs once those
are met social needs once those are met
esteem needs once those are met it goes
to self-actualization and if you help
your audience find that need define it
better solve that problem and move on to
the higher levels of needs they will
fall in love with you they will fall in
love with your teachings you will become
their trusted adviser and they will look
to you for help with other things and
that is how you create your own
opportunity the cool part is they're
searching Google for these things
they're searching YouTube they're
searching podcasts they're browsing
around on Facebook they're browsing
around on Instagram they're actively
looking for those things that can help
are they finding your content are you
putting out the content are you creating
enough in this world or you just stuck
in consuming content yourself because
you're stuck in that safety knee trying
to figure out how to get yours versus
shifting over to how can I help others
and how can I help other people solve
their problems Zig Ziglar once said when
you help enough people get what they
want you'll get everything that you want
it's about it's a it's a little shift
but once you shift to helping people
solve their needs solve their meet and
match their emotional needs and kind of
move on to those higher levels of life
you will be amazed
at what is possible for you I'm gonna
cut this video at that point I hope this
has been helpful this is probably the
most random niche ideas I've been able
to rattle off in one shot you have any
questions for me at all hit me in the
comments below that's what it's for if
you made it to the end hashtag good job
good on you I'm proud of you to make it
to the end this is really important
stuff to really kind of fester and grow
your mindset on how to meet people
emotionally but now the game is
unsubscribe from all those people trying
to sell you stuff
turn off YouTube and go create content
go get your WordPress site set up get
your funnel set up I'll link to my
funnel it'll pop up in the corner there
um if you haven't started your funnel
your WordPress site yet you can you can
click on that link and it'll be in the
description to go to the DIY sales
funnel video series where I show you how
to set all that up and on that note I'm
gonna cut it here so I'll catch you in a
couple days with the next video until
then be well
