live stream you'll notice I'm in a
different location it does look a little
bare I would say you know there's just
the wall behind me not much going on I
think I'll have a special guest coming
up she's sleeping over there with her
little piggy but I think George you may
come to join me let me know in the chat
if you can hear me it's always good to
confirm that I did just hear myself
through the earphones so that's fine but
give me a shout let me know where you're
from
today is it's a different kind of
livestream because it's gonna be a
little more storytelling I'll probably
answer some questions and all that stuff
Hasen a good to see you on here and you
think you can hear me okay and I think
my levels are okay I'm trying to monitor
this stuff but yeah today we're it's a
little free-for-all I wasn't sure what I
was going if I was going to be able to
do this because I'll explain this whole
situation we have moved we moved so not
very far away something like a
quarter-mile away or so and we don't
have internet there yet so I'm back at
the apartment where we've moved most of
the stuff out there's a few things
laying around like Georgie she's laying
over there and just some other junk but
I knew I wanted to stick to the schedule
and still do a live stream today even
though it would be rather inconvenient
and the thing I thought about doing it
on my phone I have done some live
streams on my phone like on the what do
you call it the on the cell phone signal
while this is an interesting perspective
it makes my head look tiny and my arms
look giant so basically I was like oh
maybe I could do it from the house but
the house does not have a good cell
phone signal at all tomorrow we're gonna
get fiber Longmont has fantastic
internet it's only 50 bucks a month it's
like one gig up one gig down it's
ridiculous and it's wait I mean we don't
we don't watch like cable shows
we don't get cable we don't have a
telephone and so we just need the
internet anyway so I was like all right
I'm gonna come back here move some
things and it's actually pretty cold
outside I'm gonna show some pictures of
the moving which could be boring I mean
it's just my little slideshow of us
moving it's not that much stuff
a couple things so a couple projects but
yeah it was sort of sort of interesting
because we had the closing on Monday and
it's in a shelter-in-place situation
here in Colorado so basically if you
didn't have to sign anything you weren't
allowed to come so it was my wife and I
in a notary and that was it it went
pretty quick but yeah a little bit odd
because there's usually a handful of
probably real estate agents of other
folks standing around but in this case
there was hardly anyone so all right I'm
gonna go through the little chat here
denise is on and TBH what's up Jason is
on what's up TIFF hope you're doing well
and then and and that it's like I can't
we can't read today oh and I said today
his name right I was hoping I was like I
haven't said it out loud
you know we exchanged some emails of
course yeah thanks thanks Jason about
the house it was I mean it's a crazy
time to buy a house it was in place for
a little while I mean if you're a fan of
the show if you've been around for a
little while you heard me talk about
looking at homes and checking out
different places and we had a place
under contract and then we ended up
bailing out after the inspection and
basically we ended up with a new
construction and it's I mean it's
awesome we love it so far it's a
lot like our house in Bozeman which we
we loved except it's a little better so
the house in Bozeman was kind of a
starter home it was a two-bedroom
two-bathroom like townhome and basically
it was pretty good but not the best
a lot of the
fixtures and a lot of the appliances
were basically the cheapest that you can
get it was kind of crappy in a lot of
ways like that I put in new laminate
flooring which made it look much better
we painted it wonderful upgrade and then
we also like got a better stove because
it had like the electric coil stove and
that sort of thing so we upgraded many
different things there but eventually
like it was like and basically this
place is like that except there's a
study so I'll have a proper office which
is great I hate having the bed behind me
like in the guest bedroom where you know
we have guests like what two weeks a
year something like that max so I have a
proper study there's also a basement
there's a big open plan the appliances
are all nicer and they didn't have a
refrigerator in there so we bought a
refrigerator and we were able to get
exactly what we wanted even though it
ended up you know a little more
expensive and basically we were like man
we're spending so much money in the
economy is tanking and we're keeping it
all afloat by with all this that
we're buying new washer/dryer
refrigerator all the like you know we're
upgrading some furnishings here and
there and it's it's fun but yeah kind of
a strange time strange time out there
alright so I'm going to talk a little
bit about you know moving a little bit
more on that I don't know how much more
to add without just rambling on I do
want to mention a couple a couple other
things before I get too deep into it
feel free to ask questions out there by
the way ask questions I'm gonna come
over to those alright I did an interview
with ease oeq by the way and there's a
link in the description so if you didn't
get a chance to check it out do check it
out please leave a comment over there
let him know that you enjoyed hearing
from me you know that sort of thing is
good it's always good to get more
comments and support and they appreciate
that so
yeah oh my wife's gonna make a special
appearance here yeah hi yeah she joined
me on the podcast and I know a couple
people emailed me about that she joined
me on the podcast the people people
enjoyed hearing you they did that's nice
well they said it was bold for me to
record it with my wife but yeah enjoy
and here's Georgie I thought about
actually recording some of these on the
ground so that people can see Georgie
this is how the laptop gets broken here
and I know some people don't care about
my dog but we do so well Georgie's cute
oh yeah sure cute yeah alright alright
so yeah so check out that ease of it
YouTube a little different than the
normal stuff I talked about so talk
about YouTube a little bit which is cool
and they do a fine job of editing so
it's a little tighter which is good I
don't ramble on as much now Georgie is
all pumped up she's like are we playing
or what what is going on and also this
live stream is brought to you in part by
ease oxo do check out the site speed
accelerator that's one of their newer
products I tested it out myself and if
you've been struggling with the Google
PageSpeed insight scores and how to
increase your scores it will kind of in
a foolproof way raise your scores
so definitely check it out have a video
out there with my before and after
basically I took a site that was in the
high 20s 27 to 30 s when I tested it out
and if those tests vary by the way
depending on how fast your server speed
is and the congestion on the internet
and all that kind of stuff so run it a
few times to get sort of a baseline
average and then after I implemented the
site speed accelerator it went up to
like 98 99 very high scores very high
scores out there so do me a favor folks
before I start answering questions hit
the thumbs up let me know that you
appreciate me even answering these
questions otherwise I got other stuff to
do you know
there are other things to do and yeah
crazy week of moving I'll show some
pictures in a second I don't have any
live clips to show or clips that I
downloaded this time around cuz I'm just
busy moving you know doing stuff doing
stuff alright it's positive creators
what's going on Jason thanks again for
for saying congrats appreciate the
thumbs up out there folks let me know in
the chat if you did give a thumbs up all
right
we have z1 from Slovenia alright and I
see a question from positive creator so
I'll come back to that in a second
amines on long time friend of the show
he's been on the podcast a couple times
too sent in voicemails
and all right you're stuck on keyword
someone is stuck on keyword research
excellent Oh mark from Lawrenceville
I'll probably be back over the
Lawrenceville area sometime again this
year Paul D what's up and Derek what's
up Derek Derek has been crushing it he
said I'm gonna have him on the on the
show here before too long and he's
crushing it out there his site has been
growing at an alarming rate I think he
had 2,000 bucks per month in about six
months you know a lot of a lot of high
value content and just doing work doing
the work out there and it's amazing to
see the growth happen you know during
this time where there's a lot of people
I mean that are losing money losing jobs
and and all that kind of stuff alright
and other things today about the cute
family appreciate it yet Georgie has her
very own yard again in a nicer yard
bigger yard than what we had in Bozeman
all right I'm gonna hop over to the
questions here see what's up all right
so he'll and Edward om k cool I'm and so
just ask some questions here I'm gonna
answer some questions show some pictures
and then maybe bounce out a little early
I see the
Sun is kind of almost shining so that
means it's a little warmer and I won't
feel so bad about moving I mean it was
just cold yesterday it was cold snowy
sucky day to move all right
positive creator says what do I think
about improving UX and design of the
website from the beginning it's your
biggest focus because you believe you'll
get more reoccurring visitors okay I
think it's an interesting theory to test
if you happen to be a designer and UX
expert then I would say go for it
do that if you're into it if you're
interested in it go for it my hunch is
the kind of size that I create you don't
have recurring visitors very often I'm
generally targeting a a searcher on
Google the person is hey what's the best
USB microphone for example and then they
buy it and then the microphone lasts for
10 years they're not coming back to your
site they don't care about you they
don't care about your site and they're
they're not gonna need to buy another
one of those microphones now on the off
chance someone does buy such a
microphone and they're like hey what's
the best they Google this in the future
this a what's the best USB microphone
cable sure they may recognize your site
and they may think me and that was a
sexy-looking site they really put time
into it and the user experience was
fantastic it's possible but is not
likely I don't think that's likely more
likely they're gonna think maybe they
recognize the name of the site and
they're like oh yeah they helped me out
before but I think at least the sites
that I'm trying to create generally
people don't care they're not gonna come
back they're gonna go to your site one
time they're gonna buy something never
think about you or your site again on
the other hand on the other hand niche
site project which I mean some people
may say the UX or at least the the
design is boring and simple over at
niche site project which it is but I
think the user experience is quite good
and I have the stats to back it up so I
just use a you know a simple theme it's
called the the focus WordPress theme and
it's by the DIY themes company thesis is
the original the original version of it
but this framework of thesis is used as
the framework focus and it works great
and loads quite fast so that's what I
think if again so that's what I think I
think you're you should just keep a
simple design and not mess with it but I
mean it's an interesting theory and I
know some people are like I changed my
user experience and improved it so
you're talking about improve like
improving it from the beginning but that
phrasing kind of doesn't make sense to
me you could if you're doing it from the
beginning it shouldn't be an improvement
it's just the way it is so if you design
it that way then that's just what you
gotta that's what you have you have a
site that has a good UX and you should
do that you should do that by the way
all right
and I think there was another question
somewhere okay
om K says I'm a new affiliate marketer
I'm just trying to find out low
competitors but didn't hold on let me
just read this verbatim I just try to
find low competitors but didn't get how
can I find low competitor niche with kgr
method so go to the my channel you go to
straight up to Google you can go
straight to YouTube and just search for
the keyword golden ratio masterclass and
then watch that watch all that basically
if you find kgr keywords then it doesn't
matter if the like niche overall seems
crowded or seems
to authoritative you should be able to
make it work out if you find some of
those keywords and you should be able to
rank and get started just start doing
something and you'll be in better shape
Edward says I made another one
thanks for the Amy links pro code with a
little HTML editing the showcase boxes
look awesome fantastic I did promo with
Amy linkspurr last week they don't run
sales often so if you had the
opportunity if you see it on sale snatch
it up but even if you don't I mean it's
a pretty reasonably priced plugin so
it's a no-brainer to get it if you're
looking for something like that all
right
oh and TIFF says she hit $100 she
finally had $100 Derrick says that he
hit 2350 last month in March which is
crazy again his sites only six months
old and he's doing an amazing job out
there so look out once I get settled in
the new office and all that I'm gonna be
setting up an interview with Derrick
all right Mohan Mohan thanks for leaving
those comments I saw them earlier and
that reminds me I got to check my I did
a post so if you're not subscribed to
the channel please subscribe to the
channel mo hand asked how long it takes
a new site to rank well it depends you
probably if you use the kgr and you find
some good ones there's a solid chance
that you'll start ranking in a couple
weeks however I will mention I've been
working with a student for Fivefinger
niche site that's my premium course out
there keep an eye out for that it's
gonna be launching again before too long
they found this student found a few kgr
terms which seemed to be great by the
stats and I took a look a little deeper
and I'm actually stumped usually I have
a decent idea about you know why a site
may have a hard time ranking for certain
terms but in these cases I didn't I
didn't really know it could be the niche
overall and is something that I know a
little bit about as far as the niche
and I think it could just be one of
those oddball sort of niches out there
I'm not really sure how to figure out
like the odd cases that don't work so
alright we got some good questions
coming in here and appreciate that all
right Android Matt my master is
incessantly asking a what I will
describe is I'm gonna be harsh here but
I would say a poor question that's a
stupid question okay
Android mastery says sir best niches for
Amazon affiliate you gotta do better
than that
so don't ask that same question again or
I'll boot you out of here so think of a
better question a little a little bit
better question alright TIF mentions and
TIF has been on the channel I like to
point out folks that once support the
channel and they're doing well they're
doing really well so you finally hit
$100 monthly average but you only a
hundred percent of the traffic is for
one is from one post out of 25 you're
trying to figure out how to improve the
rest of the content cool so good
questions if I would say you may want to
you know you have the topic that you
know that you're doing really well in
are the other posts are they related to
the same product and if not then you
should add more posts related to the
same product or as closely related as
you can get Mohan's
also ask how many posts do we need to
create in a niche site you can create
however many you want the sky's the
limit
you can you can start with I would say
start with the minimum of 10 if if you
want to grow it bigger to like a
thousand post my friend John Dykstra
over at fat stacks blog by the way he's
been putting out some great content
lately there's some links in the
description so you can check out his
income reports but I mean you he has
sites that have like 300 per sorry 3000
Plus posts and he he publishes a lot of
content
so as big as you want it to be all right
positive creators also asked you want to
promote a website with social media is
you have great experience do I think the
traffic is monetizable yes all traffic
is monetizable and you'll be able to get
in an ad network yes yes to both of
those now I don't personally enjoy
social media so much and I think it's
kind of a never-ending treadmill it's a
machine that will grind you up and you
got to keep publishing more and more
content and all that stuff or publishing
more and more on the social media
channel so yeah keep that in mind
but if you have a great experience with
it then go for it I would say focus on
one at a time I know a ton of people
have excellent excellent revenue and
income or at least they did before
before kovat 19 hit us and I see a
question popped in on that I think I
maybe missed it but I'll come back to it
covin 19 you know ad revenue is weird
right now traffic is up on almost all of
my sites at this point but the sales
have not followed as closely so the
conversion rate is a little bit lower
but people are people are at home online
browsing the web so and yeah I know a
lot of people that have like it should
load a Pinterest traffic for example and
then they have ad networks and they do
really well over there okay Denise asks
a question which denise is in the course
she's in my course so I'm not gonna go
to too far into it but I like this
question it's a little bit better than
Android masters but still a little still
a little tough so what niches are good
to look at in general so I'll give you
and perhaps those to avoid in my opinion
so there's two there's two tips that
I'll give you on this one
number one is I like to aim for and this
is not Universal by the way
people may disagree this is purely my
opinion so I like I like the kind of
sites where you don't have to the kind
of niches we don't have to publish
content and keep up to date all the time
there's not as many new products going
out for example versus you know maybe
something that's a little more there's a
little bit more of a product cycle maybe
new products are introduced every six
months and I will give you two examples
so a good one might be something that is
not seasonal that is kind of evergreen
and it has products out for a decent
amount of time so with that said I would
expect probably like the sort of home
home appliances or Spencer Oz has a
public case study out there and it's I
think it's like something with the yard
cone my yard I forget some something
sort of you there maybe he's a little
seasonality but it's about like outdoor
living and there's a lot of products
involved in that winter cool weather or
warm weather right like that's pretty
Universal and I don't know any specific
products to mention here but conceivably
there's not like brand new ones coming
out constantly like we're old models are
now out of date I'll give you a couple
examples of non sort of evergreen
content and niches that would be
something I love cameras DSLRs there's
new cameras coming out all the time from
different manufacturers it's a
double-edged sword though when you have
new products coming out all the time you
have an opportunity to write new content
you have an opportunity to rank for
those keywords early because you're
maybe first on the block with a solid
review and electronics again um using
you know a MacBook over here and you
know this microphone has been around for
a while but occasionally they'll put
like new products out
for ATR 2100 that's what this is but you
know laptops she's thinking phones you
think high-tech stuff where they change
often I like to avoid those they're
usually pretty competitive but there's
so many products that come out you you
probably can find your spot but I don't
personally want to keep publishing new
content constantly or have to update
things all the time because we're out of
date for example when I was looking for
my canon t7 I that's the camera I use
for vlogging and for a lot of my
shooting I looked at a few sites and
they were they had reviews on the t5 and
the t5 I which at the time was probably
like 2 to 3 years old I mean that's
basically useless and when I saw that I
was like oh this site is not up to date
they don't even mention the t6 and I was
looking at the t7 I so anyway I would
avoid stuff that changes all the time
and Mike says Mike Sims what's going on
you grabbed a malanez Pro with my code
you were thinking of grabbing in then
when you saw the code you jumped on it
yep that is a good move I'm glad I'm
glad you uh you moved over and you know
the folks that did check out Hamleys pro
let me know what you think I know the
founders and stuff like that and I I
don't promote a ton of products so
usually usually I know the people
personally and kind of keep a watch when
I hear when I hear people that have a
bad experience say with hosting or any
sort of product I will definitely follow
up with the owners and the presidents of
the company as much as I can there's
some like if it's a huge hosting company
I probably can't get in touch with the
president but I can get in touch with
some of the customer support and
affiliate managers to take care of stuff
and when a Mullings pro I know the
founders personally I could just ping
them and see see what's going on hey
sure ash what's going on thanks
appreciate it about the house Esmond
appreciate that saying hey hope we're
healthy yeah we're staying healthy try
not to go out too much and I see we got
a lot of questions which is good
I did move and I wanted to show a little
snot a slide show but some pictures and
let's see if I could do this without
messing up
I got no producer over here I mean I
think I think a lot of the crew here
knows the lo-fi way if we run the shop
here and I'm just gonna things over so I
can actually see what is going on okay
cool
and a couple things one it was snowy I'm
just gonna show show my car here so
that's the back of the truck it was
snowy yesterday which sucked
cuz we had like I don't know it was like
four or five days of like beautiful
weather sunny and I got a lot of stuff
moved on those days but yesterday we
actually had movers and then fortunately
when the movers were moving the big
stuff we had there was a flight of
stairs here at the apartment we got them
to move the couch and the heavy mattress
and the big the big stuff the kegerator
things I didn't want to try and move
around I've moved a lot of that stuff
myself in the past but there was always
an elevator in the places that we moved
at before in this case I was like I
don't want to go down up and down the
stairs with this stuff and everyone's
sick you know normally you could call on
a friend or two I have a truck you know
so I've helped people move and you know
it's convenient but with koban 19 going
on everyone's staying at home and you
don't want to go you know shuffle around
and be moving stuff with people so
anyway moved a couple things and you'll
see I didn't even fill my truck up that
much but it was cold and it was snowy
and I was like screw this I'm just
moving a couple loads and get back
inside unload some boxes so that turned
out well the cool thing is this has a
pretty sweet garage and I've seen a lot
of folks have the coatings on the garage
and
I've never had like a super-sweet garage
so I'm kind of looking forward to it and
I got the rust-oleum called rock-solid
I think it looks beautiful it took a
little time and I gotta do some prep I
am Not sure because I read some horror
stories about people you know you do all
the prep you paint it looks great and
then it starts peeling up and in a week
so I hope I did the prep properly I hope
it didn't this up the customer
service is great at rust-oleum by the
way so I didn't read any reviews about
this particular product because this is
called rock solid they do have an epoxy
coating product and it's a it's great it
has very high reviews wherever you look
at it and I saw this other it's a little
bit nicer it's about twice as twice the
cost it's called the rock solid product
and it's supposed to be more durable it
has this beautiful glossy shine I mean
that's when I was painting it right
there but it still looks like it's wet
like it's a beautiful finish but the
thing is when I started reading reviews
about the rock solid product a lot of
people were complaining about the
coverage so people would buy a box that
should dude quote two and a half garage
two and a half car garage which is
roughly this size it's about 500 square
feet however that is like the best case
scenario so it can cover up to 500
square feet but the thing is is probably
not going to so I did call in and they
were like you should get another set now
the problem that people have is they
would go they would do say 80% of their
garage and then they would have to go
buy another full box a full set of stuff
going on there and that's expensive
especially when you're only gonna use
like 20% of it or less and you have to
spend a lot more money now the funny
thing is this is getting deep
the funny thing is over at Lowe's where
it's very close so there's a Lowe's that
I go into all the time with Georgie
Walker in there all the time and they
have a one-car kit and they have a two
and a half card kit but they are not the
same color so they have like one color
of the one car and then two colors of
the two-and-a-half car but it is not the
same color so you end up like with an
inability to mix and match because I was
like I need to get a two and a half car
plus the one car so I ended up having to
actually return what what I ordered
initially what I bought initially from
Lowe's had to go to Home Depot then buy
the kits that I needed the one car in
the two-and-a-half car so for people out
there if you happen to be coding your
garage that is what you need to do I had
just the right amount so anyway I have
no clue if this stuff is gonna peel up
if I'm gonna have an issue but yeah look
I mean it still looks like that it's so
shiny and nice it looks beautiful
there's the finished product right there
and I think I think it just looks great
it looks fantastic and the kegerator is
gonna go right next to the stairs over
there yeah so it's gonna go right next
to the stairs and I think it's gonna be
it's gonna be a little farther to get
beers but never fear we have this
fantastic refrigerator I mentioned
earlier that we were able to you know
get a refrigerator that we wanted and
you'll notice in this the center region
here there that is a like a beverage
door so pretty cool it's filled with
beer I didn't put that picture on there
but it's filled with beer
I think it'll hold I think it'll hold
like two cases of beer that is 48 beers
so during this Cove in nineteen we're
set with beer so that's my slideshow for
today let me get back to the questions
thanks for hanging on for the people
that were like dude we do not care about
your house but I know some of you do I
appreciate all the folks that said
congratulations by the way
you're all gonna benefit cuz I'll have
that new office
lighting is gonna be just fantastic I am
looking at some bookshelves to get cuz I
mean even when I had my office and even
when I had like the house and bozeman
all my books would not fit on the
shelves I don't and I don't even have
that many books maybe I do I I don't
know I have a lot of beer books and I
have a lot of like sort of business
books a lot of cookbook stuff like that
but yeah I just never had like a full
bookcase to put everything and I did
back in Atlanta but when we moved out
out west out to the Rockies Here I am I
got rid of the big bookcase that hat so
alright cool I'm gonna hop over to the
questions feel free to ask we're gonna
go on well go on for a little while here
since we got a good crew so I think I
saw one about Amazon Associates and Cove
at 19
oh - what's up Danish sorry I missed it
earlier as I was going through Danish
says what's the future of Amazon after
Cove in 19 so number one I have no idea
I can make some observations and keep in
mind I'm not associated with Amazon at
all so this is just for entertainment it
is my opinion and a couple things I know
I think Amazon had like a news story out
that they were gonna be hiring like a
hundred thousand more employees I think
I saw one for Walmart they were gonna
hire 150,000 so those sort of retail
shops are probably and that do have a
good sort of delivery and mail order
situation going on like Amazon like
Walmart I think they're gonna do great I
know for my sites personally generally
traffic is up so there was a stretch
where traffic was down for a couple and
up for a few now traffic is up people
are home people are surfing the web
they're looking at products
my wife even said hey if we weren't
moving and spending so much money on all
the stuff that we have to buy anyway she
was like I'd be just doing retail
therapy buying all sorts of stuff right
now
so people are definitely clicking on
stuff people are definitely going over
to Amazon they are not yet buying
anything which I mean I could appreciate
I mean there's a lot of folks who maybe
you're nervous about layoffs maybe
you're nervous about reduced hours
depending on the kind of gig that you
have I know we're actually eating out
more for two reasons one I mean I
usually cook in almost all the time I
think we eat 90 percent of our meals but
I love food I love restaurants I love
the breweries and the bars and all that
stuff and obviously it's it's tough
times when they have to shut down their
dining room a lot of things are shifting
a lot of things are changing and I mean
I can't obviously I can't just like
endlessly throw out money I mean it's
way more expensive to eat out but we've
been ordering takeout from several
places a lot of places I've eaten out
more in the last week which is
convenient because we're also moving and
just kind of stuff was everywhere and
then I ran out of time to like prepare a
meal and there's nothing nothing to be
had around here so we'll pop over grab
some or just something to go go pick it
up come back and eat it at home so
Danish I think the future of Amazon is
probably solid but I have no real clue
there's going to be a lot of you know
secondary impacts down the line I was on
a livestream earlier listening in to the
tropical mba they're doing live streams
on youtube now so which is pretty cool
but they were talking about just oh
sorry there was someone in the chat who
said that like Brent they own an
apartment building basically and they
said you know their their rents only 6%
were late so far but the thing
is I think it's gonna be a few months
before all that stuff comes in and the
guy was like saying that he thought it'd
be like June or July before there's
gonna be like real issues so anyway I
think Amazon is probably in good shape
but I don't know the secondary and
tertiary and what's the q1 it's like
well quano RiRi there's gonna be a lot
of ongoing impacts so but I think Amazon
is solid all right let's see what else
we have here Edward says you've written
60 articles in two months and you have
30 articles planned you're worried
you're not giving it enough time to rank
and see if I'm doing anything wrong
opinions well have you have published 60
articles in two months then I would
expect that you have some traffic right
now and if you want to throttle it down
I would say that is worthwhile I would
say if you haven't done any promotion or
link building you should probably get
into that kind of stuff too
Edward says but at the same time you
want to grind it out as much as possible
to beat out the competition okay so one
thing to note you are right Edward one
reason I like to work in Sprint's is
because it gives you the ability to work
on something and then iterate you do not
have the ability to iterate right now
cuz you're just heads down you're just a
bulldog pushing through and you are
putting out a ton of work I mean it is
tremendous I think that's amazing
however you you don't have a way to
evaluate what you're doing and then
adapt you need to be able to adapt you
need to be flexible so I think I've done
potentially some people in diss servers
where I was like hey I published all
this content and published a shitload
and here's what happened it was
fantastic well that was that was like
the third iteration that was after
testing I kind of knew what the I
was doing at that point so at that point
I knew the things that were working and
I was only doing those things that were
working John snow says congrats on the
new house appreciate it really
appreciate it
and Android master says hey I'm sorry
hey that's okay that's all right thanks
for thanks for acknowledging it it's
just you know it's just me over here so
if we get a lot of the same questions
repeated and if it's not a good question
I will usually bust balls alright John
Kerry brings up a fantastic point he
says stay away from the travel niche I
was hit badly by kovat and hopefully you
mean your site was hit which I'm sorry
to hear that and that you are not
positive for koban 19 if so get some
rest out there by the way would
appreciate if everybody hit the thumbs
up if I answer you a question or if you
are watching this at all
or if you don't like it you could hit
the thumbs down as well any interaction
is good interaction right all right
Android says can you suggest ways for
backlinks you pitch many sites in all of
them ask for money so two tips number
one you can pay them the money right you
did the prospecting you found size so
we're asking for money so pay the
money right or you can revise
how you find them so that you could find
people that won't ask for money how you
do that well I'm not sure not sure about
that but if they're asking for money and
it looks like a good length and you can
do it if you want to Amin says I put a
email form on the sidebar with an e-book
incentive to push people to opt in it's
been six weeks and you only have 30
subscriptions you thought about doing a
pop-up quiz ask people for a few
questions thanks for the people that hit
the thumbs up I really appreciate that
and you thought about asking people
about the Preferences based on that you
suggest the best product why they will
give you your email address don't have
any thoughts on that I think well a
quick quick shout-out to myself for the
Doug show podcast if you are not
subscribed or you're you are unfamiliar
I do this on audio so if you don't want
to or basically if you're doing
something else if you're like exercising
for example or maybe you're doing some
housework maybe you're painting your
garage floor to that beautiful shiny
glossy Sheen and you're bored and you're
like hey I want to listen to Doug check
out the podcast it's on most of the
podcast directories out there thanks
again for the folks it hit the thumbs up
subscribe to that podcast I like having
those listeners out there and I find
that I enjoy getting the voice mails
ameen sent in a voice mail for me he
sent in a couple questions over time and
one of those was indeed about an email
doing email list for a niche site and
basically my general stance is don't do
it unless you want to learn and you
think it'll just be fun so I wouldn't do
it with an aim to earn directly from
having that email list
I've grown email lists over 10,000 on
some niche sites and at the end of the
day I wasn't marketing hard enough for
it to be really worthwhile so while it
was fine it was interesting at some
point it was costing more money because
I had so many subscribers so I had one
list over 10,000 another one in the
8,000 range
those are decent lists and if I send out
an email I could get a few hundred
people to a post yeah and I would get
people back to the site but it was a
fraction very small amount back on the
site and I love email marketing I love
figuring out the opt-ins which is the
root of a means question here so
basically no one wants an ebook these
days how many books have you downloaded
and like never touched so usually a
really good approach even now is to have
of like a one-pager a list of resources
those are highly effective because it's
easy to consume it's not too much of an
ask there's a bunch of books that I
actually want to read anyway
that are you know they're print books
they've been edited they're good and I
know for example some of the I will
mention any companies specifically but
some of the done-for-you site creators
will put an e-book in there and they put
like an opt-in and a pop in and all this
pop up and you know what no one's gonna
sign up for it because no one wants your
stupid ebook by the way a lot of times
those ebooks suck the the ebooks suck
cuz the people don't know what they're
talking about now if I wrote an e-book
and you were actually interested in me
or whatever it is that I was talking
about maybe you would have a look at it
and if it was edited and well done but
most of the time these are just you know
not very high-quality overall and so I
would say keep it simple one thing you
need to look at Amin is you mentioned
it's been six weeks and you have 30
subscribers but you really don't mention
how many or what the conversion rate is
now the other thing is your sidebar is
sidebar suck alright
this the only people looking over there
are the people that are distracted or
they're not really looking at your
content you just distracted him with
opt-in so do you want to sell products
or do you want to get them adopted now
the second thing I'll tell you two more
things and then we'll move on otherwise
I mean there are whole courses on how to
build an email list by the way next
thing I'll tell you I mean go to a niche
site project go look at my site look at
how I build an email list look at the
different content upgrades that I have
and that's what you should do you should
have content upgrades those are highly
effective those are by far the number
one way did I get people in go to the
keyword golden ratio
post I talked about a concept and then I
give you a tool if you sign up for the
email list a tool related directly to
the content so the content on the page
right needs to be related to the lead
magnet all right so you need to have
your lead magnet complement upgrade the
content that's what you need to do all
right moving on here we got quite a few
boss Bell what's up our Armen
all right how's it going Denise says
thanks for answering all right going on
and on
chunky moose is how many articles do I
recommend posting before starting a link
building ten I like to get started right
away but some people want to do it a
little bit differently but yeah I like
to do ten articles and then work on
getting like ten links or so and then do
ten articles and then ten links and then
once you kind of have your process I
like sort of comfortable then maybe you
do 20 or 40 or whatever you want to do
you do different sprints you can do them
in parallel bill hahn is going to sleep
it's 12:00 at night in india alright see
you later thanks for hopping on Babar
what's up my med says do I suggest email
marketing campaign for an affiliate
website generally no email marketing is
really fun so the thing is a lot of
people try to start email marketing when
they should be working on content
getting backlinks like people work on
email marketing too soon so they don't
have enough traffic and they're putting
all this effort and it really doesn't
pay off it may pay off in the future but
it doesn't pay off in the short
and basically you should probably work
on getting more content out more links
more traffic better rankings all that
stuff once you're getting say 500 to a
thousand visitors per day then you can
you know you probably make it worthwhile
it's a good question on that I think you
know that's that's one area that I am
very interested in and I should talk
about email marketing there's a lot of
products that I use and I enjoy I use
Aweber currently I've used I think three
other services which were generally fine
at this point they're all about the same
they all allow you to do tagging you
have an autoresponder you can send out
broadcast emails you could do some
sophisticated marketing based on the
person person's actions and there was a
time where a weber was a little bit
behind because they had kind of a legacy
platform aweber has been around for a
long time and some of the newer products
were made with marketing funnels in mind
so if you plan on doing your own
products if you're pushing affiliate
products that have a higher payout maybe
that have a longer buying cycle or
people are researching then email
marketing can be great because you could
educate people and that's what I do a
niche type project so I use Aweber and
at this point they've caught up they do
really well with all the things that I
just mentioned you could do tagging I
have an evergreen funnel running with
with a weber and deadline funnel so okay
Amin says thanks for the answer you love
the fact that I'm talking in the podcast
more and more personal finance by
bringing up worthwhile expert people
keep it up awesome thanks a lot for that
I mean yeah I get a cool episode coming
