here from niche site project and this is
part I think nine of the age cite case
study I wasn't planning on doing this
this week and today and I had a couple
minutes and I was like hey I better
publish this video today even though
it's going out at a weird time but
here's what I want to cover I'm gonna
talk about link building a little bit
and like do links matter I'm gonna show
you results in like a second here but
before I do I went to I guess thank
everyone for all the comments so earlier
this week I published a video actually
was it it was like a podcast rebroadcast
and I don't know it was like an hour
long or so but a lot of people were just
busted my balls about how long it was
and I have to tell you you're right it's
as long it's a long piece of content and
if you're looking for the quick hit of
dopamine on like YouTube and you got all
these distractions over there it's
probably pretty boring to listen
to and I get it
and I I actually realized that I need to
do some shorter videos but the very cool
thing is some people like long-form
videos and I like to produce long-form
content it's a little bit easier I'll be
honest with you you don't have to edit
it as much because it's just long it's
like actually like hanging out with a
couple people having a conversation so I
do appreciate the comments a lot of them
came off I would say kind of rude but I
mean I have thick skin so that was
totally ok and I love to get feedback
positive or negative actually negative
feedback is much more helpful for me
because I can adapt and change maybe
improve so this is going to be one of
the shorter videos all right even though
I just wasted like two minutes talking
about something unrelated to the topic
so here's the deal I got an email this
morning and basically let me show you
the results first so I have this aged
site I got some links and like the June
July timeframe and check out
what happened to the rankings over the
course of a few weeks after I got links
and I'm looking we're looking at a
specific page right here and look it's
going up quite a bit
alright so links matter if you wait
around for natural links to come you're
gonna wait a long time
alright I'll be honest with you no one's
gonna link to you no one cares about
your site no one cares about your site
alright just remember that I mean people
kind of like the the content that I'm
producing on YouTube and people still
complain about it alright so just keep
that in mind so if people don't even
know who you are and they don't know
what you're trying to do with your site
they're not gonna just like link to you
to be nice so here's the deal I got an
email this morning one of my students
was like hey I've published some content
and I've actually published quite a bit
of content but I haven't done the link
building like I know I'm supposed to do
and I just keep publishing more content
and I don't know why traffic isn't
coming to my site and I was like links
alright
you got to get links to your site very
simple blog commenting and guest posting
that's literally all I've been doing
over time yes if you do a poor job
people will ask you to pay them money
but if you spend time to build a
relationship oftentimes you'll be able
to publish a guest post without paying
anything and people are happy to get the
content alright
so links are important again look at the
results look at the results just in this
one instant instance that I'm showing
you here and by the way if you have
