hey everyone this is stephan james from
projectlifemastery.com and today i'm
going to share with you how to get
started with affiliate marketing from
scratch and i'm gonna share with you a
simple method that I've utilized to make
millions of dollars with affiliate
marketing that is probably one of the
most simplest ways that you can get
started to make money online so the very
first thing and I'm gonna draw it out
for you guys here on this flip chart the
very first thing is to identify a niche
a market or a genre that you want to do
affiliate marketing around that you want
to build your online business around and
ideally if something around an interest
a hobby or a passion that you have so
for example let's say that you have a
passion for self-development or you have
a passion for fitness or you have a
for the guitar or a musical instrument
it doesn't matter what it is first you
got to identify what is that niche that
you want to build your business around
and then really the next thing after
that is you're going to then build your
platform that you're gonna build your
online business around now this could be
several different things what this
platform could be is it could be a blog
okay so let's say for example you
identify fitness then you can start
writing articles and create content on
your blog related to that or it could be
a YouTube channel okay you know I love
YouTube it's one of the best platforms
out there to really create content to
attract people to you in whatever niche
or market that you want or it might be a
podcast you have that podcast on iTunes
or Google Play or Spotify and it could
even be social media and Instagram
account a Facebook account a Pinterest
account Twitter there's different social
media platforms that you could also
leverage as well now once you've
identified and you can do all three or
all of them if you'd like
like I do in my business but I recommend
for most to identify one primary
platform one primary method that you're
going to create content to attract
people to around the niche that you want
to build your business around now the
next thing after that you've identified
what that is the next thing is to then
find a product okay a product it could
be a service as well but it has to be
what is known as a commissionable
product meaning they can pay you you can
make money from it because they have an
affiliate program that you can join so
again let's take the example of Fitness
so let's say you want to build your
business around the fitness niche you
love it you have a passion for it and
then you find a product out there let's
say it's a fitness course a fitness
training program that has an affiliate
program and let's say for example that
this program this product that you could
then promote they sell it for $97 okay a
hundred bucks and their affiliate
program they'll pay you a fifty percent
commission which is very common amongst
most information product affiliate
programs right so 50% of $97 that's
about 50 bucks okay so fifty dollars
would be the commission that you can
then earn if you promote this product
okay and what you're going to do here
though is once you've identified the
product that you want to promote even
join their affiliate program then you
come back over to your platform your
blog YouTube podcasts or whatever it is
and then you start creating content
articles YouTube videos podcast episodes
now with these types of content here's
the key you want to make this content
relevant to this product that you're
going to promote so for example let's
say over here this piece
the content is a blog post or a video
and it is a review okay where you're
doing an in-depth article or video
reviewing this product sharing your
experience with this product how it's
helped you to maybe lose fat how it's
giving you more energy the pros and the
cons an honest review okay not a biased
review but an actually honest review of
this product and then in the review you
can then share and link to you through
your affiliate link this product if
people are actually interested in
learning more about it so this piece of
content this review at the end of it
you're gonna have a link and a call to
action your affiliate link that will
send people this way so when people find
this review on your blog through Google
through search engine optimization or on
YouTube they find it let's say they
enjoy it they click the link to come
over here they buy it you earn a fifty
percent commission just like that now of
course you don't want to just have one
piece of content you want to create
multiple pieces of content so you can
create more than one review you could
also do a comparison okay because a lot
of people for example they might be
searching for this product online but
they want to know other people's
experiences with it they want to see how
it compares to the other products out
there on the market so you could create
a piece of content of you comparing you
know this course with maybe the other
courses that are out there and how it
how it kind of stacks up the pros and
benefits and you know the cons of each
and then that way you're adding value to
people that are interested in it and
maybe they're gonna end up deciding to
buy it through your affiliate link okay
so this again would also funnel into
this product now you can create more
than one comparison but let's say
another piece of content you decide to
create is known as a interview so maybe
now you reach out to the creator of this
course right or one of the trainers of
it you say hey listen I'd love to
interview you on my youtube channel on
my podcast or I'd love to send you a
series of questions and you can email
back your response and I can create a
blog post of what your
and answers are to the most common
questions so now here what you're doing
is you're creating more content that's
now relevant to this course and product
and at the end of it you have your
affiliate link okay that people can
click on when they click on the link it
automatically tracks things because it
places a cookie on their computer
usually up to 30 days some up to 90 days
that if they buy through that link
within that period of time guess what
you earn another Commission on that okay
now there's many different other types
of content you can create in fact let's
say you decide that you reach out to
this program you say hey I'd love to
interview some of your most successful
students your success stories and you
decide to put that on your blog or on
your YouTube channel or podcast so you
can create success stories now you can
interview people that have been through
the course and feature that too then
again further promote this product you
can then create other content that might
not be totally centered around this
product but it's still centered around
what this product solves and what is
what it's about so let's say you decide
to create you know articles or videos
around fat loss and you optimize that in
Google or YouTube it's a valuable piece
of content people consume it and then at
the end of this you then mention hey if
you want to learn more about how to lose
weight there's a great program then I
recommend I've been through it there's
plenty of success stories around I think
you'd benefit from it if you're
interested in checking it out here's a
link that you can click on to learn more
so you can put your affiliate link in
this piece of content and it again
funnels into this product same thing
with the success stories maybe you do
another one you do one on diet right you
share you know some useful information
about dieting certain strategies around
that and again you it in the search
engines or you market it a little bit
through these different platforms
people find it they receive benefit and
value from it and then you link to at
the end and say you know what if those
of you that are interested in learning
more here's a great program that I can
recommend to you so there's
many different forms of this you can
create as many pieces of content as you
like in fact the more the better guys
the more content then the more
successful you're gonna be because the
way I look at content is sometimes not
every piece of content is gonna get
found or consumed but the more you put
out there the higher the chances are I
always use the example of just throwing
against the wall and let's see what
sticks because sometimes you have a
piece of content that blows up that goes
viral but the key here is making it
relevant to this product to funnel it
into that a lot of people we try to do
affiliate marketing but they're trying
to promote so many different products
that it's not an effective strategy it's
best to identify what's the one core one
that you can funnel people into that you
want to support that you want to endorse
that has a great affiliate program that
can benefit others okay that actually is
a great quality program that's why I do
recommend to have gone through it to be
able to create the content and share
your story your experience be open be
relatable to other people because people
will connect with that story and there's
many different types you could do you
know around mindset you know workouts I
mean there's endless possibilities and
you could do research on Google on
YouTube you know there's certain
software's and tools you can use to
research and identify what are people
searching for that gives you ideas to
create content that you can funnel into
this now if you want to take things a
step further this is the simplest way
and I will mention this I always love a
blog a YouTube channel or a podcast
because once you create the content its
evergreen it's there forever meaning
that people can then organically find it
and it could be a passive stream of
income for you because I believe every
piece of content you create is like a
seed that you're planting in the ground
and and the more seeds you plant the
more is gonna grow some not all those
seeds will sprout some of them won't
sprout but some of them will grow into
massive trees that are producing fruit
producing results for you in a
consistent basis so for me I published
over a thousand pieces of content on my
youtube channel and more than I think
1500 on my blog
I think another thousand more on my
podcast that's a lot of content and
guess what a lot of that content that I
have is consistently attracting people
to me and funneling into products that I
have or other people's products and
consistently making me money now
one other important thing and I got a
lot more I'm going to share with you but
I do got to mention this your content
has to be valuable it has to be good it
has to serve people the most valuable
quality that you need to have to be
successful with affiliate marketing or
business in general is caring
you have to care about people you have
to care about their needs and their
problems and genuinely want to serve
them and be honest with them
the authentic to really help them I
never ever create anything that is not
going to value benefit people I never
promote anything that I don't think can
really change people's lives and benefit
them and when you have that passion for
something and you care about others that
comes through in the content that you're
creating people can tell that they can
feel that and it's a demonstration that
when you're just giving giving giving
and adding value people feel that and
when they receive the benefit that
you're providing they're gonna be more
likely to check out what you do have to
offer in fact you don't have to be great
with marketing now I don't think that
I'm the best marketer out there by any
means but my competitive advantage is I
care immensely about people I'm always
growing learning being the best that I
can be and I'm always sharing things
that have benefitted me so that other
people can benefit from that as well and
because I have that mindset you know
people automatically wanna know more
they automatically going to want to hey
what what does this person recommend for
me what is their product what is their
service they have and they're gonna
naturally want to do that without you
even havin to you know sell someone or
influence them on it so I believe in
that adding value approach is called
value-added marketing VJM add value care
so your content has to be great and then
at the end of it again you just link to
it you mention it you have a little
blurb if people want to learn more they
can check it out
you're not trying to slam it down their
throats or anything like that now if you
want to take things further here's what
I recommend that you do you don't just
funnel people from your content and
you the product you actually funnel them
from the contents to something else
that's something else you want to funnel
people into is let's take all of this
and funnel them into what is known as an
email list okay to get them on your
email list to get people on your email
list at the end of your content you're
gonna mention something of value you're
gonna give them something of value that
they can get for free by opting into
your lists and putting in their name and
email so for example let's say you've
got this Fitness website and YouTube
channel
you mentioned at the end of your content
you say listen if you're interested in
more more help - to really master your
fitness to lose weight to gain muscle
whatever the goal is of the market you'd
say I've created a great ebook for you
you know a short ebook or I've created a
video training series or I created this
workout plan or a diet plan or you know
here's like the the five foods to avoid
if you want to lose weight or here's you
know ebook that I created of like ten
mindsets that you need beliefs you need
to have in order to achieve your fitness
goals whatever it is there's many ideas
you can create but you you offer that to
them for free so now you're providing
more great content and more value for
them but the key here is that they have
to put in their name and email to get it
because when you have people on your
email list then it becomes actually a
lot easier to do affiliate marketing
because once they're on the list now you
have all this other content they might
have never discovered before maybe they
found you through this interview but
they haven't seen all this other content
you have any minute that might not ever
see it so if they're on your list you
can actually send out a series of emails
okay you know they opt in to your email
list you send them an email here and
maybe this email you're reaching out to
them you're saying hey listen thank you
so much I hope you enjoyed this free
ebook this free guide that I provided
for you if you want to learn more about
fat loss and you know how to achieve
your goals then here's a great program
that can help you write so you link to
this with your affiliate link in the
email and then maybe the next email you
say hey listen I've got this great
review that I did you know I shared my
opinion my experience with it and the
pros and cons of that program that I
shared with you and I wanted to mention
that here for you and if you're
interested checking out and learning
more then you can also log in link to
this product then maybe you send another
email two days later and you say hey
listen here are some great success
stories you know did you check out that
product that I shared with you I know
you know maybe you're not familiar with
it yet you want more information but I
thought I'd share with you some success
stories of people that have been through
it and benefited so you can learn and
determine if it's a good fit for you or
not right so here you send that email
out provide that content but again
you're linking through this product and
now you have a whole series of emails
where you're building a relationship
you're providing more value and you are
you know providing the value you're
building the relationship with them
because not everyone's gonna buy
something the first time they see it you
know I work with a lot of affiliate
marketers and you know some of them say
Steph and I you know I had people click
on my affiliate link to the product but
they didn't buy anything you know I had
a hundred people that went nobody bought
and I said that's normal that's no
because most people aren't gonna buy the
first time they've got to see it again
and again and again they've got to you
know know the success stories and more
additional information so when you get
them on the email list that gives you
that opportunity to follow up the
fortune is in the follow up remember
that to follow up with people and it
might take seven emails in some cases
right where you're you know reminding
them hey did you get a chance to check
it out yet I know you're busy right now
but I wanted to share this you know this
information here about the mindset and
provide value and that's how a
relationship is formed a relationship is
not formed on the first date sometimes
you got to go on multiple dates to build
that relationship to build the trust and
for them to check it out and also now
because you have them on the list now
what you can do is let's say now there's
another product right maybe there's
another product maybe it's not a course
but maybe this other product here that
you find is a physical product maybe
it's like a piece of workout equipment
okay
and this product has an affiliate
program as well
or it could be supplements let's say
it's like a protein powder or it could
be let's say this product here is like a
training program like a workout program
this could be like the diet program
right like another course because some
people they might need that the workout
training but they also need the diet
training to go along with that so it's
another complementary program that can
help them and now because they're on the
list and you have more additional emails
that are going out to them
excuse my drawing now if they don't buy
this one that's okay because now you can
also mention this product right and
share this with them and it gives you
the ability to now make more money on
the backend over a period of time so
you're increasing the long-term value of
a customer now I'll give you guys one
more strategy okay if you want to take
it even further than this and by the way

additional products you can scale it up
to as much money as you want but to
increase the conversions what I love to
do is to stack more in the favor of the
customer so I want to create more value
for the customer than what they're
actually paying for so here's what you
do you have this product and you find
ways that you can make it better that
you can add you can complement this
product you can add more value to the
consumer so what I like to do is I
create a
Onis okay a bonus a bonus could be
anything that is valuable so maybe for
example this training program you're
promoting you decide to create a bonus
ebook or a video training on the mindset
or here's some of my favorite recipes
for fat loss right here's some of my
favorite smoothies and recipes and you
create a little bonus that you mentioned
for them that hey if you're interested
in checking out this product and you
decide to buy it through my affiliate
link cuz I'm gonna fill it for it then
you mentioned I've created this great
bonus that I'd love to give you for free
so not only are you getting this product
it's no extra cost for you in any way
right but I want to give you more value
and I'll also send you my free ebook my
free recipe plan my free mindset
training okay all you've got to do is

so now the consumer is getting more
value which is always the key as you

the value has to be in everything you're

and I'm getting all this other great
stuff and it becomes an irresistible
offer okay so pretty simple model excuse
all my messy drawings and writings but

that's how you can get started with
