excited to introduce you guys to sarah
zomer from panama and sarah is a very
successful entrepreneur she sells on
amazon ecommerce she's got a her own
yoga studio her own pregnancy Wellness
Center she started her ecommerce journey
in 2014 with the amazing selling machine
launched her first product in 2015 and
she was able to quit her job of twelve
years in just one year after joining the
amazing selling machine so you've had a
lot of great success since then I love
that you shared how this has allowed you
to support your mission your purpose in
life which is your yoga studio and your
prenatal wellness center you bet you've
cared for more than a thousand families
in the process of becoming parents so
the time and you know we really
appreciate you sharing your story with
us and I'm so happy to be here and
sharing with you so thank you for this
outlet because I love to tell my story
not because I like to brag but because I
love to inspire yes I agree we all need
more of that you all need more role
models of success absolutely absolutely
so do you mind strain with people a
little bit about yourself how you got
started with this and maybe you know
where you are today in a nutshell like
like Stefan was saying I had a corporate
job 12 years I studied fashion design so
I was working for a company that created
apparel and well I was there for 12
years and I would often imagine what it
would be like to be doing something like
I was but for myself like creating my
own line of products and I just couldn't
figure out how to do that you know it
was like in my head I had that fantasy
that imagination but how could you come
along and create a complete brand of
products when all I had was my salary
you know my my my income from my job I
didn't have you know like a large
savings account or family money or
anything like that so it kind of like
was a dream that was always there in
that little cloud up there of creativity
until I received the first email from
ASM and I remember saying hey so this
brings it home right this makes complete
sense this brings it home I'm gonna dive
in like this this looks like the system
that's gonna make my creative idea
actually exist in the world so that was
that was pretty much how I started ASM
it was I had no experience in e-commerce
I didn't know one single person who was
selling anything on Amazon and I just
took a plunge and and you know they had
a money-back guarantee so I had nothing
to lose and so that's how I started
pretty much yeah you actually start at
the same time amazing selling machine
myself and my my girlfriends ASM for
awesome I love to hear you you know from
you just what was the experience like
since then you joined ASM you didn't
know anything but I guess you learned
the ropes through the program but how
did you do with your first product and
how do you get to the point of quitting
your job okay awesome so I finally
launched my first product I started ASM
October 2014 and my first product was
launched in March of 2015 so a few
months later I you know when when
preparedness meets opportunity
success comes along and and I was you
know my product took off really well
really well meaning in very few months I
was making as much money as I was making
in my job which was really what was I
what I was interested in at that moment
the only thing I could visualize this if
I could actually work for myself make
exactly the same amount of money this is
already success right and so it was very
soon after that I was seeing the numbers
and with my margins I was really making
as much money as I was making sitting in
my job that I had been working on for 12
years this was just a three or four
month project that I was making
as much so it just made sense like that
was just the beginning and I knew you
know businesses in the first two years
don't really make profits and I was
making a profit really from the get-go
so I knew this was gonna be a real
life-changer a real game-changer so I
actually quit like around July but my
boss asked me to stay at my job at least
for six more months and and I did until
December 2015 and and it was it was an
awesome journey I've never looked back
I've never looked back that's amazing
and I know there's a lot of people in
the exact same situation that you're in
that you were in how are you able to
build your business while also working
at your job you know often times it
requires a lot of good time management
skills what's it just mostly after work
how many days a week how much time are
you putting into it to get to that point
it's hard to quantify the time because
there's something about this business
and it's just so fascinating at least
for me it was so so fascinating and so
exciting that I don't think I ever sat
down and said oh my god I've been here
for hours like I can't really quantify
it I know I was doing this pretty much
all of my free time like that's the best
response I can give you during lunch
breaks I would buy a sandwich and you
know check out the videos and do some
sourcing at my desk at night late into
the night but but not because I felt
pushed into it but because it was so
exciting that I didn't even want to go
to sleep I would keep working of course
on the weekends I would figure it out
like if I had a free time I was into
this listening to videos in the car like
whatever had to come along that's
awesome and then did you have any
challenges along the way I'm sure you
must have what were support challenges I
guess that you faced and what did you
learn from that to overcome them okay
awesome first of all I love that you
asked this question because people who
are thinking about getting into a pro
Grahame like asam and getting into a
business like amazing it's really
important to know it's a business
anything that requires that you become
successful will not be a linear journey
and it won't all be unicorns and
rainbows so so that's really important I
love to talk about the reality of it
success is kind of like an up/down oh my
god I'm so successful I'm making money
oh I'm going broke and you know
that's how that's how it goes so yeah
challenges I'd say like two main
challenges I would summarize them and
one is a business aspect cash flow
management managing my cash flow was
sometimes it's still challenging you
know when when christmas is coming and
you need to buy a lot of inventory you
need to put all of your cash into
inventory there's always a struggle but
you learn the techniques of cash flow
management so so with that respect I
think yeah cash flow has been one of the
major issues I've had and and first you
become creative and then you become
resourceful when you find yourself in
that situation where wait a minute I
want to grow but where do I get the cash
to buy that new inventory so yeah
resourceful and creative and I think the
second most interesting challenge I've
gone through is self belief you know
like I was saying oh one day I'm on top
of the mountain and then the next day
you're like oh my god I'm going broke
and then the next day you're like no but
my life is great and this is perfect
learning to know myself through the
moments that were a little more
challenging and and understanding that I
you know being depressed or her down or
worried was made no sense because
tomorrow I'd be on top of the world
again so yeah and so we come back to to
resilience right so so you get creative
you get resourceful and then you become
resilient and that's how you become
successful in this journey that's
awesome yeah I definitely agree is the
mindset that you develop I'd love to
hear also you know you've you know what
was your goal with this was it just
primarily to quit your job so that you
can then pursue these passions that you
have or is there a goal to you know I
know some sellers they want to keep
growing they want to build this huge
ecommerce Empire but it seems for you
you just want it to maybe you know
pursue your yoga studio your pregnancy
Wellness Center I just kind of love to
hear what your mission is and and how
you kind of frame that well at the
beginning I'll be completely honest all
I wanted was to be able to pay myself a
salary like any other employee would and
that was already success i I do
visualize my business growing and we do
have projects to start hiring out more
personnel so we can you know grow in in
different aspects growing our brand we
also have plans to launch a new brand
next year so I would consider myself
middle-of-the-road
I don't just want a cash flow business
that gives me a salary I don't need to
become Nike or coca-cola
let's say somewhere in between because
like you mentioned I don't want to have
to have 100% of my attention and my
stamina placed in the business because I
do have this this this passion and this
this what feels like a life mission to
to deliver wellness and well-being and a
lot of information I I'm a birth doula
I'm a yoga instructor also so this whole
process of becoming parents is
fascinating to me and there's very
little information so I love being an
educator I love spending my time with
with families they're going through
through that process so so if I can do
both things and and have the bills paid
and have employees that are having their
bills paid
then life is perfect yeah and so do you
I guess you have a team that supports
you so that you don't have to maybe be
as as involved and I guess some some of
the aspects of the business is that
corrected it up yeah yeah I have a
really tiny team the I work with my
sister so she joined the venture a
couple of years into it when she
realized you know yeah this makes sense
and my sister has more of a financial
background that I never had I was always
in the creative aspect so we we created
a great synergy so she takes care of
everything that has to do with numbers
which was awesome and I also have an
assistant who takes care of of the other
let's say more day-to-day aspects so we
have customer service and and managing
up some numbers and doing you know the
the day-to-day tasks so it's really a
tiny tiny group we we're looking to get
somebody to handle everything that has
to do with marketing because we're at
the stage where we really want to
delegate that to a professional so
that's gonna be our next hire for sure
very cool you know I love how you you
know you use this to pursue your
passions because I'm kind of the same
way I feel I have Amazon businesses and
done very well with that but for me
that's not I always feel like there's
something more for me I love to teach
I'd love to educate and love to inspire
people and so I kind of I do enjoy the
Amazon business but it's also I kind of
used it as a way to create freedom for
myself because it is a great business
that you can automate fairly easily it
can provide a great passive income for
you and you can have a small team that
can manage it for you so I think anyone
that's watching this right now maybe you
have another passion or a mission this
could be a great opportunity so that it
can help support that I agree I agree
and it would have been I wouldn't say
impossible because I don't like that
word but it would have been really
challenging to be able to pursue
I do with with the studio without having
the time available and and and and the
money also so so it's great to have an
opportunity to again have your bills
paid live a happy life you know buy a
little gadget if you want or a beach
house if you're into that which we are
and we just did but but being able to
work in what you love I think this is
this is what everybody strives to but
there is a reality you need money you
need to pay the bills and so the awesome
thing is that I also love the Amazon
business just like like you said you
know like I said at the beginning I
never even count that the hours because
it was just fun you don't count how many
hours you went out partying with your
friends when you're in college you know
you just go out and and that's how it
felt
that's great you know what do you
believe as the potential of Amazon and
by the way do you sell primarily in the
US or you more international or which
working we are launching Europe now so
so we're planning to be established for
the q4 or for the Christmas operation so
yeah we're we're testing out Europe
right now and we are planning to to move
operations to other countries we're
doing it slowly because we are more
interested in launching more products
not necessarily more markets just yet
just yet but definitely Amazon has I
mean the potential is pretty much
endless we all know that Amazon is is
gigantic has brought upper twenties to
hundreds of thousands of people to -
there's there's one thing that I say
about Amazon and Amazon brought
democracy to retail I like to put it
that way because I don't know exactly
like what your background is when you
started but I know for myself with the
amount of money I had available
there was no way on earth that I could
have started something like I have now
if it wasn't because of the entire
structure they get that Amazon has and
in in real life you would have to create
a prototype and go to buyers and
different you know you go to JC Penney's
or Macy's or whatever hey do you like my
product would you please buy from me it
Amazon cut that and said you have a
product show it to the customer if the
customer likes it you're successful BAM
so so that's how I feel like it was a it
opened up kind of a democracy into the
retail world where you didn't have to go
convince a buyer to get your stuff out
there you convince the consumer which is
really the the one person that should
say if they like it or if they're
interested or not and so that combined
with exponential growth worldwide
they're opening markets everywhere the
Latin American market is still not open
but I've heard a little bird say that
Amazon will open operations in this area
very soon so it's endless possibilities
are endless
and I assume that you know going through
ASM you've taken the approach of
building a brands do you do a lot of
marketing outside of Amazon or do you
sell on your own website as well or you
just primarily just focused on Amazon we
we do we we work a lot of marketing
outside growing the brand we have also
started selling from our website it's a
very small percentage of our sales but
it's a part of it we mainly focused on
Amazon for the first years just because
you know 80/20 focus your attention
where at least 80% of your income is
going to come from so slowly but
steadily we've been working on creating
a fan base and and and as as you launch
more products you have more credibility
as a brand than you you build this whole
community and
and that's something that does take a
little bit more time and we've been
working on that aspect and growing that
feeling of now you know who our brand is
and what who is who we are and what we
stand for so we've been working on that
a lot recently we didn't at the
beginning so I just have a few more
questions I guess what advice would you
give to someone that is maybe in the
same position that you are in when you
first started you know maybe they've got
a job right now they're looking at
Amazon or e-commerce or ASM as a
potential opportunity career path for
them to potentially change their life
you know but maybe there's fear there's
doubts there's money concerns time
concerns because maybe they have a
family they've got their career already
any just advice it can give us someone
maybe that is in that situation awesome
well I first of all I believe I'm gonna
quote marie forleo everything is figure
out a bull okay I love that quote by her
you can always figure things out if you
have a family you have little kids they
they take a lot of your time you have a
job you know we we all have our
challenges you don't need to become
successful next week right you need to
have a goal and adapt that goal to
whatever your situation is some people
have all the time in the world to
dedicate to this some people have a
limited time but I've seen time and time
again through the community of ASM that
people from all walks of life when they
want to make it they make it they figure
it out you know maybe sleep less maybe
you know find partners that can help out
there's always a way to figure it out
now the one thing is there there are two
types of people being you know
generalizing a lot the whiners and the
doers if you like to whine and I don't
mean whiners and drink cuz I'm with you
on that one if you like to whine and
complain don't don't even get into this
business stuff we'll have
then stress will happen Amazon will do
something crazy and and you'll be
freaked out if if you like to pin
responsibility on others
then this is not for you but if you like
to figure things out if you if you love
the little challenges that builds up
into a big conquest the business this is
really life changing its really life
changing I love that and I think that's
you know why you've done so well is you
were committed to it you're resourceful
you're willing to do whatever it took
you're you're excited about it and I
think you know those qualities whatever
goal that you're pursuing if you're
excited about we're doing committed
you're resourceful you'll find a way
you'll find a way right the way so yeah
I love that
yeah yes I'd love to hear just uh you
know have you you know since I guess
when you join ASM have you continued to
maybe go to their events like seller con
and whatnot or continue to as I'm sure
you know what this business are always
learning you're always growing it's not
just like you do one course and then
that's it there's still much more to
learn absolutely and this is I I could
tell you at least for me ASM has become
a lifestyle you take courses you you
join a class then you come home you have
notes and then you put 20% of what you
learn to the test and that's it
this is not what ASM is about I started
ASM you know it's four years already and
not one day goes by in which I haven't
interacted with members of the community
not one day every single day of my life
I go into the Facebook group i chat with
friends that I've made throughout the
the process if I ever have a doubt
there's always you know a conversation
either I have questions or other people
have questions that I can answer and and
this is part of my life and I I really I
I can't visualize any other job or
business that you could get into in
which you would have
so many people ready to give you an
answer ready to help you out when you
find a challenge i I've never made these
very many friends I mean probably not
even in high school or in college you
know I've made so many friends with
people who are into this business so so
yeah for me it's a lifestyle it's a
community it's it's so much more than
one class that I took back in 2014 I
also go back to the video sometimes when
there's questions and things like that
so yeah yeah it's a lifestyle I agree I
think that is one of the biggest
benefits of something like amazing
selling machine because I think a lot of
people when they start a lot of their
friends and family might think that
they're crazy right crazy that's not
gonna work it's a scam you know you know
you're not gonna make money online you
can't get your job you can't live off
that and it can a lot of that influences
us and I believe when you have the right
support system of people that are on the
same path or maybe further ahead than
you and they can kind of point you in
the right directions
you know mentor you guide you than that
that is such an important thing and I
find for me like as I've become an
entrepreneur a lot of my friends have
changed in ways like a lot of my friends
now they're also very entrepreneurial
and we have a lot of that in common as
well so I definitely think the community
is such an important aspect because it
gives you that confidence it gives you
that excitement like the first time I've
been to four of the events that they put
on and the first time it was with my
girlfriend and she had never chooses
brand new Don my business I was already
doing things before but for her it made
it real for her because she was meeting
and interacting with people that were
just like her regular people that are
doing amazingly well and it really
shifts from your money said it makes you
believe like wow that guy on stage is
doing this much I could do that too
right and he started just where I
started exactly yeah it was the the main
stepping block was the same and yeah
that that makes a big difference I I've
seen it in my family too they all
started skeptical you know and and my
husband's been really supportive from
the get-go but in general everybody else
was like hmm and
and so if I wouldn't have had the
support somewhere else it would have
been so lonely and it wasn't it was
never lonely of course my family now is
like oh wow you know this this is
amazing but but yeah it would have been
really lonely if I would have started on
my own I wouldn't have figured it out on
my own I don't I I don't know how I
would have very cool well thank you so

was really a game changer for me I think
