hi I'm miles Beckler and in this video
we're gonna uncover what is your unfair
advantage so as you move into business
for yourself you need to figure out what
you have within you at either the DNA
level as Gary Vee would say or at the
experiential level what makes you unique
what do you have that puts you head
above the rest every human being on this
planet has something everyone if you're
watching this video right now you have
something in you with you part of you
that you excel at and you need to figure
out what that is because that's your
strengths right and it's more important
for you moving forward to focus on your
strengths and continue to build and
develop your strengths ignore your
weaknesses we can outsource whatever
your weaknesses are bookkeeping is your
weakness me to outsource it got that
like unfair advantages so what do I mean
by that right so at the DNA level me for
example I talk if you've noticed this
like channel it's just me like rapping
like ba ba ba ba non-stop my friends
have always even commented at it I got a
buddy who used to call me 9/10 Tony I'm
talking about you and like he's like
nine-tenths of the things Myles says you
could ignore and still get what he's
talking about and it was a funny joke
but like I've always talked a lot so now
that I'm creating content what do I do
I just do that I do not enjoy the
process of writing go check out my blog
Myles Beckler comm I put a lot of time
and energy into the posts that are there
way too much because I gotta get it to
where it's really good before I publish
it but man it could take three four five
six hours to get kind of this concept
that I've got in my head right that
we're talking about now it would take
hours for me to communicate this in the
written word so I stopped I just I'm not
blogging on my side anymore I'm making
these videos instead I've transitioned
and guess what everything's easier now
like the contents flowing the content is
good people are finding it the number of
views are going up the number of
subscribers are going up click subscribe
by the way if you're watching this and
that's me working with my DNA I'm
naturally an extroverted person I love
to talk about this stuff so put the
camera on boom let's go I'm also really
good at podcasts I've been interviewed
on podcast I'm probably gonna start a
podcast of my own at some point in the
future but I don't feel like it's the
time yet I'm still just like I got to
grind these videos out I got to get
everything that's up here out so you get
it to give you your like your bachelor's
program here and then maybe we'll go to
the Masters and the more advanced stuff
through the podcast some of the topics
that take longer now on the flip side of
that maybe you like to write maybe
you're a poet maybe you're always
jotting down rhymes and like maybe
you're a musician
maybe you're just like if you had free
time you would just write you journal
every day whether it's profitable or not
guess what if your journal whole time
and if you love writing start blogging
roll with that do what's fun because
when it's fun and it feels easy you're
gonna do it more consistently and
consistent effort over long periods of
time is what makes it all work it's the
fact that my wife and I have been
working on one business one business
model building one email list for seven
years that we've been able to create a
lifestyle business that now supports us
both the way we want to be supported and
the reason that worked is because we
were doing it in ways that were fun she
likes to write she's now getting out of
her comfort zone doing more videos and
that's getting easier but literally for
the first four or five years written
content written content written content
audio recording audio recording audio
recording we did not do a video with her
face on it for years until we were
already making enough doing enough and
we were just like okay it's time for us
to go down this this next path and
you'll get there
so that's what I mean by like what is
your unfair advantage if you're a talker
figure out a way to start a podcast or
get the video rolling and just start
doing the YouTube channel if you're a
writer start blogging get going that way
a little side note so I'm doing these
videos I'm currently interviewing
writers right now who I'm gonna just
hire a writer to take this video-content
turning it into a really nice blog post
so I can post it to my blog it's gonna
be the same kind of ideas their writing
style might be a little bit different
than mine it's guaranteed to have better
shuh Asian and spelling than mine does
and sentence structure and all that
grammatical stuff like at all I got a
space in my brain for that I'm a
business development master like this is
what I do I help people grow businesses
so I need to stay focused on that and
then I'll bring in someone who can do
the writing brush it up get it on there
so the search engines can find it on my
blog as well so that's what I mean
work with your strengths and outsource
the rest now the experiential side you
know maybe you're a lawyer and you've
been doing law for a long time or maybe
you were able to get through law school
really effectively like you spent way
less time than everybody else studying
and putting together your outlines and
all that stuff that law students have to
do and you like partied more than
everybody else and you're in the top ten
of your class boom you could teach that
to other law school students and you
could make an absolute killing there's
so many people going to law school right
now it's overly trendy they're spending
hundreds of thousands of dollars on
their education do you think they'd be
interested in the $37.00 ebook that
would help them like enjoy life a little
bit yes absolutely
$37 month membership site that would
help them absolutely could you get
thousands of people on a membership site
like that absolutely okay so what if
gardening right what if you got a small
apartment in New York and that's your
thing and you have a little balcony and
your little balcony is pumping out
tomatoes and squash and zucchini and
strawberries and plums and and you've
figured out a way to take this hundred
square foot garden or whatever it is and
absolutely explode it with fruits and
vegetables that's your passion great
guess what there's people who want to
know about this stuff right there's
people who there's I mean how many
people live in small apartments with
small balconies and patios that still
want a garden its millions it's hundreds
of millions of people so that is your
unfair advantage you've figured out how
to do that now you need to learn how to
communicate that in a way that builds a
list builds rapport builds a
relationship and eventually you can
offer products whether they're your own
or whether they're affiliate products
maybe you have learned how to make
amazing vegan or vegetarian meals in 30
minutes a day for $4 a meal right save
money save time
healthier great share your information
so that's the experiential side so
whatever you've been doing for five ten
twenty years and it doesn't like maybe
you drift cars maybe you can really a
bike maybe you are the best fly
fisherman ever like it doesn't matter
whatever that is that's your
experiential side go towards that dig
down into that and you'll find something
you can work on to share with people to
build a business and then on the DNA
side or on the kind of like who you are
as a person side it's really good to
kind of leverage your strengths what are
you naturally good at talking writing
etc if you're confused if you're like I
don't know what I'm good at go to
sixteen personalities calm that's one
six personalities calm it's a free test
it's a personality test and it'll help
you learn more about yourself I might
even cut a video on that exact test help
me out a ton to get to know like the
type of person I am I stick with my
strengths I hire people in now to do
what I'm weak about I used to just
ignore what I was weak about happily
ignoring it and growing everything off
my strengths and the business worked
fine
right we don't have to do everything
even though our mind or ego kind of
tells us you got to do everything you
gotta you got to be like everybody else
like you got to be on YouTube maybe you
hate video cameras maybe you hate the
sound of your voice then don't go into
podcasting right because editing your
podcast would be brutal if you hate the
sound of your voice so that's it on this
one right what is your unfair advantage
you have an unfair advantage over
everyone else online right now dig deep
in yourself go like introspective and
figure out what that is because when you
uncover that both experiential and on
your DNA side you're able to kind of
marry those two things and it's like
cool gardening and writing or
photography man I didn't mention
photography huge right you can build a
massive platform on Instagram these days
with photography and people are making I
mean man there's this girl in Australia
I heard on a podcast I don't even know
her name
she's got like four or five businesses
doing six and seven figures a year 100%
of her traffic comes from Instagram
sharing pictures my wife loves taking
pictures of flowers she is growing am I
massive Instagram following for her
business by taking these pictures of
flowers when we traveled we always go to
Botanical Gardens cuz it's fun for us
right we like walking around seeing the
plants of the world in these different
climate zones it's really interesting
and she is just constantly with her
iPhone
snap snap snap picture picture picture
she adds a little text to it with
something like canva or one of those
little apps uploads it to Instagram
hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of
people like it it grows her audience
through doing something she's passionate
about and you have that you can find
that alignment I don't know you well
enough yet but that alignments there if
