there's so many little lies being fed to
you about affiliate marketing here on
YouTube and I'm here to expose the harsh
truth for you okay now if you're someone
who I would say is a beginner or a
novice affiliate marketer so you're
making less than 15,000 a month okay
I'll consider that beginner to novice
this video is going to be perfect for
you okay now is affiliate marketing dead
it depends there are so many methods
like free traffic methods that will not
work for you in the long term and that's
kind of what I want to expose today is
is affiliate marketing dead which way
works and how can it be successful in
the long run now I've been doing
affiliate marketing for the past three
years okay I've seen I'm still learning
so much and I wouldn't even consider
myself you know like close to being the
best or in experts of any sort because I
would say that I'm definitely not a
novice Oh hit my head but the thing is
okay this is the thing about affiliate
marketing anyone who's teaching you that
you can have a successful affiliate
marketing business in the long term with
free free traffic from YouTube or free
traffic from Instagram or Facebook
complete lie okay now can you use free
traffic methods to build up some capital
in the beginning yes I highly recommend
doing that obviously if you don't have
any startup capital okay if you don't
have any startup capital you have to
build up some reserves okay cuz a real
business this what a real business is a
real business invests back into the
business and has a profit margin right
Shopify I mean I personally have a buddy
who's you know built a Shopify store and
is selling it and he would say that you
know the profit margins on a Shopify
sometimes lower depending on charge
backs and refunds sometimes higher
depending on the product okay there's
gonna be a profit margin in every
business now if you want to be
successful at affiliate marketing for
like Ryan I'm just getting started
I have zero money okay
kind of I'm going to help you out with
that if you have zero money to start out
with then your best bet is doing free
traffic methods at first okay meaning
you're manually it's kind of like not
really affiliate marketing in a sense
because you're manually going out there
and trying to you know sell a product or
a service right as an affiliate but once
you get that startup capital maybe you
start a YouTube channel and you know you
have you get a couple hundred views to
your video and you make a couple hundred
bucks now you have to take that capital
and reinvest all of it into paid
advertising okay the only type of
affiliate marketing that works in the
long term is CPA marketing okay CPA
affiliate marketing which is cost per
acquisition companies pay you to acquire
a lead or a customer for them okay and
then I would say hybrid type of
affiliate marketing where you have
digital products on the front end that
you purchase or made and you white
labeled and then you have a product on
the back end right like you have a let's
just say a digital course teaching how
to do social media marketing and people
buy that course you make money right but
on the back end
maybe you reinvest all the money back in
the ads but on the back end you're
making money on software's that you use
for your agency right that would be
hybrid type of affiliate marketing now
how much does affiliate marketing cost
you like how much do you have to
reinvest that's all gonna be dependent
upon how big you want to grow the
business right now I'm reinvesting about
80 percent of everything I make back
into ads because right now for every
hundred dollars that I invest I'm making
about three hundred back so it's a two
hundred dollar profit margin but if I'm
reinvesting
you know 80% of that wholesome then you
know the profit margin is a lot smaller
right now okay and that's just how you
have to look at business that's how you
have to look at life free traffic
whoever's teaching you that you can go
on YouTube and get free organic traffic
to be a common affiliate marketer is
that might have worked a couple years
ago maybe even a year ago that might
have worked but right now I would say
that's a load of BS okay anyone teaching
YouTube affiliate marketing is not an
affiliate marketer I'm just gonna give
the harsh truth okay because that's not
a long-term sustainable business if
YouTube shuts down your YouTube account
right how long is it going to take you
to put up another YouTube channel of the
same type of content and then try to
rank that channel rank those videos it's
gonna take you years right YouTube takes
years I only know that because I've done
I've been doing YouTube for three years
now and you know it's taking me forever
right to actually make profit from
YouTube I kind of jumped in at an
opportune time where free traffic was
abundant now it's not now it's like I
have to try and rank my videos very very
hard for them to get a lot of like a
viral video okay and there's not there's
no opportunity there because YouTube
favors channels that are bigger okay
now if you're doing paid advertising
Facebook doesn't favor people that spend
two hundred thousand over people that
spend $20.00
it doesn't favor anyone Facebook wants
to get you results Facebook Ads wants to
get you results so that you spend more
money and more money over time right so
there's no there's no like what would
you call it kind of like can't come up
with the word but they're they're you
you don't have an advantage over anyone
else like everyone gets equal advantage
with Facebook Ads with YouTube you don't
have equal advantage if you want to
start a YouTube channel right now to do
affiliate marketing you do not have an
equal advantage okay my videos
we'll always get more views than yours
because I have a bigger channel right
it's just that's just how it works I'm
not I'm not trying to discourage you
from starting a YouTube channel or
anything like that you can have one
viral video that will get you thousands
of subscribers and I think it's very
possible but if you're gonna play the
YouTube game that's a long term personal
branding business not an affiliate
marketing business back in the day that
used to work now if you do have capital
if you have thousands of dollars to go
buy a YouTube channel that's already
ranked and it's already big in the niche
that you want to do affiliate marketing
then you could make money okay but still
that's not a viable business model for
the long run because your YouTube
channel could get shut down now if your
Facebook ad gets shut down or your ad
account gets shut down you can always go
get a new one
okay so this is a perspective that I've
changed you know I had an affiliate
marketing course in the past in 2017 it
was a very good course at the time
because I'm it taught viable skills that
work for affiliate marketing now
nowadays okay and the reason why I don't
have that course anymore is because as
you know I took it down because it's not
teaching viable skillsets for 2019 as an
affiliate marketer and paid advertising
is a viable skill set that you need to
acquire okay I'm telling you Facebook
ads are so are magical I can literally
spend $100 make 300 spend 300 make 900
it's insane okay and the only way I was
able to do that is to invest some money
into Facebook ads now there's people out
there that will take out I'm not
advising this it's not advisable but
people will take out business loans
right to run Facebook ads and make their
money back it's not advisable but if you
look at all the fortune 500 companies
how much debt do they have tons of debt
because that's the only way that they're
able to continue growing and building
their customer base and build their
revenues is to take on debt to acquire
more
customers right that will pay over the
long-term so affiliate marketing okay
let's get back to that is it dead no
definitely not it's thriving more than
ever companies will pay you because
you're better at advertising than they
are you can acquire a customer for
cheaper than they can and that's why
they'll pay you a hefty profit a
commission right so affiliate marketing
is a skill set most of the top internet
entrepreneurs we're all affiliate
marketers you look at russell brunson
owner founder of clickfunnels he was an
affiliate marketer a massive affiliate
marketer that no one knew about he was
kind of incognito right
there's tons of incognito affiliate
marketers now that I'm kind of in the
space like I would consider that I'm on
my way to become a super affiliate a
true super affiliate which is you know
CPA marketing and hybrid affiliate
marketing not youtube none of that junk
okay that's I'm sorry like it just it's
a junk ok if you want to build a true
affiliate business you have to have the
infrastructure right I'm out here
filming ads you have to have your ad so
you have to have your ad accounts you
have to have your sales funnels you have
to have your email autoresponder you
have to have multiple ad manager
accounts just in case one gets shut down
right it's it's a hard skill set but if
you can learn it it's great money it's
great money and you can you know live
this dream lifestyle drive whatever car
you want go on trips enjoy but you have
to be willing to dig deep in the
trenches okay just like just like if you
were starting a Shopify store like you
know some of the best Shopify store
owners or affiliate marketers because
they know how to get customers for very
very cheap right if you can get leads
for three dollars versus someone who's
getting leads for six dollars you can
spend double the advertising you can
double down on your advertising and
essentially
double your revenues because you get
your your acquisition is much lower
right if this is kind of blowing over
your head sorry I'm kind of getting
technical right here but say it like
this okay there's two grocery stores one
grocery store is in the middle of
nowhere right the other grocery store is
in the middle of the most busiest mall
in New York City okay they both sell
apples for $1 apiece right but grocery
store a in the middle of nowhere
it might cost them you know I don't know
50 cents on the dollar to get to get
someone in their store because they're
in the middle of nowhere they're
advertising you know there's not many
people so they have to advertise heavier
right cost him 50 cents to sell that
Apple at $1 right but the the grocery
store in the New York Mall right has
tons of traffic already there maybe they
only have to spend 10 cents to sell that
Apple to get someone in the store to buy
that Apple right profit margin is 90
cents versus the other store is 50 cents
so who has more money to spend on
getting more customers and getting a
bigger profit margin obviously the one
that is you know getting their customers
for cheaper all right so that's all
affiliate marketing is it's get
acquiring leads acquiring customers for
cheaper than the business can that's why
they're paying you to do it okay so if
you want if you want a massive skill set
advertising affiliate marketers are
exceptional advertisers right like they
they know how to do Facebook Ads a lot
of businesses out there they don't know
how to do it they don't want to hire
anyone to do it so but pay affiliates to
do it for them and then split the
profits right I mean it's a wonderful
business model it's a wonderful business
model especially if you like working
from home if you you know don't want to
boss hovering over your shoulder is it
the easiest thing in the world no I'm
not going to tell you is the easiest
thing
the world it's a skill set it takes time
just like building a Shopify store or an
Amazon store or an agency or something
like that but is it the most passive yes
I make money while I sleep I get sales
while I sleep my ads are continuously
running like sometimes I'm like what do
I do during the day like I'm just out
here you know filming like sometimes I
don't know what to do because I just
have to let my ads do their thing right
so yeah
just wanted to touch on that again let

Facebook guidelines see if that's even
possible as far as using it I've never
tried it I don't really I don't know I
haven't tried it I want to try it but I
don't know like they don't sell it at
the grocery store so yeah that's crazy
