what's up YouTube this is Ryan Hildreth
here with AJ he's one of the students in
the social media marketing course he's
had some major success with his agency
and I wanted to share his story today so
what's up AJ how's it going
cool awesome well it was nice having you
here I guess kind of start off by
telling a little bit about yourself and
how you got started on social media
marketing I've been following you since
Lopez came out with this course yeah
you know I couldn't afford that course
of being a full time college student so
I kind of was looking for other options
when you guys came out with your course
I hopped on that took the opportunity
and it's been it's been I guess almost
four months well that's been four months
yeah I started in a nice huh when we
first got our LLC I co-founded the
business with my sister also a student
at a where I go nice and then you know
we had so it's been kind of a longer
journey for us I mean a lot of people
reach success in the first you know
month or two yeah there's it takes it
takes a longer address it's it's been
literally four months until we've really
been able to land multiple clients and
and everything so I would say you know
persistence okay yeah the reason why
we're at we're at today yeah nice and
yeah you mentioned so we have a private
Facebook group guys for everyone that's
listening we have a private Facebook
group with the course which you know
everyone's collaborating you know I'm in
there Haden's and they're answering
questions but you mentioned AJ that you
recently left your full-time job
part-time job was it was a part-time job
to you okay basically doing some some IT
work I did I manage all the the surplus
stuff at the school yeah
but you know I was able to fully replace
my income actually significantly
increase it through the agency nice nom
it kind of got to that point where I
wanted to go full-time you know put a
hundred percent in the agency because I
I saw that it wasn't really gonna grow
if I didn't have the time and commitment
to put into it yeah yeah I don't serve I
was making so much more money through it
now so so how many how many clients are
you working with right now yeah so we
have one Bitcoin I'm actually up in DC
right now
Oh God with this part that we work for
it's a it's a political consulting
agency basically oh wow okay yeah it's a
big client so they bring in they have
seven clients sub clients wound up
quarks which you know we charged as one
of our clients Wow so we'll be doing
their targeted advertising for them nice
so basically how we got in with this was
their startup mm-hmm and we're price
cutting a competition by a lot when it
comes to this particular field and
politics these campaigns have massive
amounts of money to spend
yeah but you know a lot of the a lot of
the competition out there sees that and
they raise their prices really hot is
basically okay so I'm gonna come in cut
the competition a little bit yeah with
you know offer competitive pricing which
is pretty standard to what we would
charge for a business basically about
you think so how how much are you price
cutting like how much do the competitors
how much are they charging within this
space competitors in this field will
charge for website $20,000 Wow okay yeah
yeah it's there's a lot of money in this
one of one of the people were actually
working with has a two million dollar
campaign budget that's crazy
okay yeah we're gonna be helping develop
even TV ads
yeah all surfaces not just not just
social media but we're gonna be you know
expanding to other fields as well wow
that's crazy man so that's a comment
that's actually a common question I get
from a lot of people like how do you
probably you know structure your prices
like do you base it off of time you're
working or do you base it off of value
like how does your agency structure your
prices like I guess give us a basic
package like for me you know our basic
package is $1,000 a month we do Facebook
advertising manage social media and then
we'll do a little bit of email marketing
yeah that's that's similar to what we do
we charge about a basically a thousand
for both so we have we have 800 through
advertising alone okay
400 for email generation okay and then
we have other add-ons such as we don't
we don't for the campaigns we don't do
any social media posting because of
politics it's really you know if you
about person stuff and that could go
south real quick
yeah you let them take care of that you
produce the content so I have a brother
who's a basically freelance
cinematographer yeah so centrally we run
a family business Wow this point yeah we
have a lot of talent within just our
family which has worked out really well
for us I'd say he he has connections
with you know building these I guess ads
for TV and all that yeah so we we
subcontract that out to him that's
awesome see so you have like a whole
family operation going then that's
pretty cool that's awesome um you know
we were talking earlier and you
mentioned that you know you're you're a
senior in college and you've actually
learned a lot from the college you
attend which which you know I know some
people that have had different
experiences with entrepreneurship and as
far as like their university being
progressive in that space but it sounds
like you're
University really backs this whole
entrepreneurship thing and they have
like a whole accelerator can you like
kind of share with the audience about
that because I know there's a lot of
college students that watch my channel
there's a lot of high school students
and you know they might be iffy on going
to college because you know they want to
pursue entrepreneurship but maybe there
are certain universities that have
certain programs so can you kind of
explain your program that you're in
donate $1,000,000 or
eleven million dollars yeah to build a
they call it this strong entrepreneurial
college and essentially it's a building
where you can run your business under
this building for free they have a
retail store on campus if you have
retail products you can retail your
products for free out of that store and
the biggest thing is they connect you to
mentors in your field so the networking
aspect of that is almost priceless I
mean I was mentioning I have a mentor
who owns a seven-figure agent agency so
I get to talk to him basically every
week get advice from him and that is
helped me grow in US grows as an agency
immensely yeah I would contribute
basically most of our success has been
from just the support of the school and
the networking it comes out of that yep
they also host several networking events
for advertisers so they have a marketing
Association Network event where you can
sit down and talk with you know other
agency owners some of which who have had
20 plus years of experience get their
input on it you can also talk to other
business owners so one of the other
businesses that we work with is a
another startup company he does a a 3d
printing okay yeah so yeah he's a
start-up as well and he literally came
to me and was like hey I heard you guys
do
you know digital marketing and I was
like yeah that's exactly what was like
when can I start
okay Wow yesterday same thing yeah so
we're starting to get clients now just
from referrals and people talking about
us which is that's that's a surreal
feeling to have people come to you yeah
yeah you don't have to pitch it's like
it's kind of a whole social media
marketing sells itself you know cuz
everyone's like okay how can I you know
this is such a popular topic now and
it's growing that people are like how
can I do this for my business and
utilize it and obviously you're seeing
the effects of that just at these
networking events would you say that you
know the most important thing when
starting a business whether you're in
college or not is to develop those
relationships and kind of go out there
and network would you say that's a big
factor without networking is key yeah
I've reached out to several people in in
the course to I know Danny
he's down in Chesapeake like 20 minutes
away from me oh nice we we've met up
several times he's in the course as well
yeah I've met up with Anthony Harrell he
was in Tai Lopez's course he owns an
agency as well nice and just keeping
those guys like we we all meet up we
discuss things you know we we help each
other grow and like just the the showing
up meeting in person you know talking
about all this stuff and growing
together has helped me immensely nice
nice where do you see yourself going I
don't know in the next five years like
do you want to take this I mean you're
already taking it pretty much full-time
but do you want to just grow it
exponentially seven figures or do you
want to maybe ought to sort of automate
your business and start another one like
where do you see yourself I would like
to grow to a seven-figure you can see
nice and become one of the bigger
mainstream media company awesome awesome
man so and also just for all the viewers
like how would you
I guess like for people just starting
off like what would you recommend um
well first of all networking do as much
research as you can yeah there's so much
there's so much out there on YouTube
alone yeah the internet just do the
research anything you don't understand
you can you can figure out just jump in
there take action on it Danna dude has
persistence that persistence persistence
persistence definitely and that's what
that's why we have I mean that's why we
have the private Facebook group - for
those that joined the course because I
mean really that's where most of the
success comes from networking figuring
out what your weak points are and asking
questions and you know getting that
additional help so AJ I appreciate you

you're a college student you're killing
it with your agency you know you have
multiple clients and now you're making
pretty much full-time income from that
