Ensuring You're Compliant with the Amazon and FTCs Affiliate disclosure Policies - [IMPORTANT] #Best Education Page #Online Earning

in this video I'm gonna be showing you

how you can make sure that you stay

compliant with Amazon's disclosure

policies yeah now it sounds like an

exciting video doesn't it well bear with

me the reason why I'm recording this

video today is because a number of you

have received an email from Amazon over

the last couple of weeks the email

talking about looks just like this and

it was a kind of slightly cryptic email

you had to read it a couple of times to

try to figure out what they're actually

getting at but when you drill into it

and you break it down and I you know

have been looking around the web other

people's opinions on this email the

message in it is you just have to be

really clear that you are an Amazon

associate or an Amazon affiliate and

when you insert any affiliate links you

just need to make sure that the visitor

who may click on that link it's fully

aware that you're gonna receive a

commission if they you know go through

and make a purchase now Amazon aren't

wonderfully clear on exactly how you

should do this now in the past we have

of course added a disclosure to the

footer of our websites which you know

clearly states that we are in Amazon

affiliate but it turns out that that

probably isn't enough especially when it

comes to the FTC who I believe are a big

organization or government body in the

States and they're particularly keen on

clamping down on this and making sure

that all these affiliate links are

really clear and you know everyone knows

their affiliate links I don't think it's

such a problem over here in the UK and

in Europe but you know if you want to be

compliant with Amazon and if you're in

America then you definitely need to be

compliant the FTC else you could end up

in a bit of trouble at the very least

you'll get kicked out of the Amazon

affiliate program which is not a good

thing

so does this mean that we have to mark

up every single affiliate link that we

put on our site well from what I've read

on the internet no I don't think we do

we just need to make sure that it's

really clear so soon as mr. hits the

site they know exactly what's going on

and they know that you're an affiliate

and they know that the links within a

particular content our affiliate links

and that you will earn a commission if

they click through and make a purchase

so I'm going to jump on the computer I'm

going to show you a few ways that you

can do this I'm going to be working on

which is my Amazon affiliate website I'm

sure you've seen it if you haven't be

I'm gonna be adding this to my site to

make sure that I'm fully compliant let's

okay so I'm over at best roof books.com

which is of course my Amazon affiliate

website that I've been working on

recently and taking a look at one of my

articles and I've got some affiliate

links here some Amazon affiliate links

as you can see it's not that clear that

their affiliate links I've got a little

icon the shows they're external links

but you know it doesn't say that their

feet links it just say they're on Amazon

but doesn't mention that I'll earn any

money out of it now of course I do have

my statement as I mentioned in the intro

down in the footer but it turns out that

might not be enough so I need to get

something at the top so that it's very

clear very obvious that when someone

hits this article starts reading it that

any links that I've got are affiliate

links and I might earn some money so

you've got a few options in terms of

adding this statement you could add it

to a text widget over here in the

sidebar you know just add a text widget

and add your disclosure statement and by

the way I'll be sharing with you a

statement that I'm gonna be using in a

few moments and so that might work and

you'll be fine on desktop sites or the

site when it's been viewed on a desktop

but when it comes to mobile phones and

when they're looking at your site what's

going to happen is this sidebar is going

to drop down to the bottom so yeah then

we're back at the problem where the

disclosure statement is below the

contents of people might not see it so

that might not be ideal of course if

your theme for whatever reason shows the

sidebar first then don't it might be

okay another option is to maybe add a

plug-in and look there are a couple of

plugins available but they're not that

good if I want to something us quickly

show them but I've been affiliate

disclosed disclosure for spelling will

be fine into the keyword there there's

these two that come up

this one is very very very basic and

this one's a little bit better but I

found it doesn't work particularly well

with elemental sights which is what this

site is if you're any element or postal

pages it doesn't tend to show I don't

know if that's a bug or something but it

might work with your theme you know

maybe go check it out yeah but I'm not

going to use either of these today what

I am going to use is elemental because

you know that's what this site is

running and I'm sure that probably your

site is running some sort of page

builder as well

probably Elementor if you followed some

of my videos and what I'm going to be

using is the global widget now the

global widget is a pro feature I'll put

a link up now to Elementor it is an

affiliate link which means I will earn a

commission if you use it and make a

purchase of elemental Pro thank you very

much if you do I really appreciate it

and it really helps me out there we go

there's fire FTC disclosure right there

anyway you will need the pro version to

do this but you could do it without the

global widget just planning a widget

manually but I like to do it this way

because it means that if I ever want to

update my disclosure statement then I

can do it in one go and it will update

across all of my posts and pages let me

show you exactly what I mean so I'm

gonna go back to the site and

we can start with this post I'm gonna

add it to all of my posts anyway even if

they haven't got any fillings you know

I'm just gonna cover myself it's good to

edit with Elementor then what I'm going

to do just search these widgets I want

the alert widget I think that's really

the best one to use

drop it yep

which is finally mean up so you can put

it where you like but I think you need

to put it as near to the top as you can

I'm gonna make it yellow should make it

yellow all its red too much

Green that's a bit more friendly isn't

it of course you can go for whatever

color you want and in fact you can come

in here and change you know whatever

color literally you know it's completely

custom

maybe therefore orange couldn't we like

the

the color of my logo there

I remember exactly the color code no I

think I'll just use their colors for now

but yeah you can choose whatever color

you like so I think the green success is

fine there is a dismiss button which you

can turn on or off it'll turn it off so

that people can't close it and therefore

they have to read it and then you simply

put your and disclosure statement in now

I've got one in my clipboard that I

prepared earlier feel free to use it

yourself just come over to this roof box

common copy it and paste it into your

site there we go very simple statement

then for the title just going to put

that

I'll be fine but of course you can put

whatever you like as long as you just

make it very clear that if someone

clicks a link you might get paid

we just update that now what I'm going

to do is I'm going to change this to a

global widget now so that I can then

easily add it to all my other posts and

pages and you know if I ever want to

change it I can and it will change

across the entire site so to do that I'm

going to come over here I'm going to

right-click I'm gonna go save as global

going to call it affiliate this

oh yeah can't seem to better spell

disclosure today like that there we go

so now it's in here long with all the

other global widgets that I've got let

me just save that now of course I do

have the laborious task of going through

all of my posts and adding it but I've

only got fifty or sixty s it shouldn't

take too long hopefully let's come out

of here

I'll show you how you can quickly add

that global widget

so they're coming here with that a

menthol

go to global and the widgets grab my

disclosure drop it at the top

and that date it takes a couple of

seconds as I say if I want to edit this

global Jenny point and just click Edit

and then if I make any changes maybe add

like a exclamation mark click update

let's go back to the site

there it is and then I have a look on

this site we could see that's got an

exclamation mark now as well

now it's bugging me now that it's gotten

to three times so I'm just gonna change

it one more time I think two lines is

plenty

so come in here click Edit
