in this video I'm gonna be sharing with
you my tips to ensure that you get
approved into the Amazon Associates
affiliate program so let's go
hello always hallux here from WP eagle I

you get notified when I upload new
videos I tend to do one every single
week but anyway this video is all about
getting approval into the Amazon
associate program I get a lot of emails
from people saying that they're you know
setting up an Amazon affiliate site and
they've kind of built up their side to
that Amazon drops them an email and says
oh we've rejected your application sorry
about that and kind of disables access
to their account and yeah people forward
down and despondent and what shall I do
so I thought it was about time that I
put together a video of my top tips on
what you can do to ensure that Amazon
approve your application now I've got
eight tips I'm gonna share with you
today I'm gonna go through those in a
moment but before I start I just want to
share with you kind of the affiliate
mindset because once you have this it
will affect everything you do it will
make you a better affiliate you'll do
better stuff you make better content
you'll create better websites and in
turn you won't have any problems getting
accepted into affiliate programs so the
mindset is this and this is how you want
to approach affiliate marketing as an
affiliate you are there to provide value
you're there to help people make a
purchase so someone's out on the
internet and they've got a problem
they've got a need they require any
product or service but they're not quite
ready to buy I mean they've nearly got
their credit card in their hand you just
need a little bit of help they need a
little bit of reassurance they need a
little bit of guidance when it comes to
making that final purchase and that's
where you come in as an affiliate you're
there to take someone by the hand
show them the products show them the
services and make some kind of informed
recommendations that
allows them to buy with confidence so if
you keep that in mind that'll really
help you when it comes to creating
content and creating your sites so now
we've done that let's get on with the
tips so our first tip of the day is
pretty straightforward it's pretty
simple but you'd be amazed how many
people get this wrong Dan is you need a
working URL you need a website a lot of
people they fill in the Amazon
application and the bit where it says
URL they type in their domain name but
they might not have set anything up it
might not be working so when Amazon go
and check it out they get a 404 not
found or a forbidden error or they see
some sort of maintenance page or domain
holding page that's no good you've got
to have a working website that's
actually up running the Amazon can take
a look at don't submit an application if
your sites not ready or a few sites down
or any of that kind of stuff you want to
make sure your site's up and running and
working perfectly number two is really
important and that is content you need
to share with Amazon's some great
content it doesn't have to be huge
amounts especially to start with three
or four articles probably five is a good
number to aim for some articles that
really deliver some good value going
back to my point earlier about the
mindset so this could be a product
review or product comparison it could be
a how-to guide or a tutorial it could be
a list of the best products for a
certain task or whatever and but you
need to have some really good content on
there and you know it's pretty part of
your blog that sort of thing but I'm
talking about good articles videos if
you can manage it but generally articles
are fine these articles need to be
unique they need to be your own work and
they need to be of a reasonable length I
always aim for at least a thousand words
when it comes to creating content but
you want to use this content to show to
Amazon that you are adding some good
value and that you're there to help
people make a purchase
[Music]
my next tip is around relevance you want
to make sure that the articles that
you're producing and the products that
you're promoting are relevant to the
niche or subject that your website is
about so if you've got a site that's all
around gardening and you're talking
about different gardening products that
kind of thing
you'd only promoting payday loans or
mortgages or healthcare products or
anything like that you want to make sure
that your site is very relevant and very
targeted and that you're only promoting
stuff that is suitable for the niche
that you're in my next tip is all around
linking and it's basically don't over
link if that's a term you're of course
gonna want to add links to your content
and to your website but just don't
overdo it you don't need to link every
single word in your article to different
products on Amazon just make sure that
the links that you do add are relevant
and they're useful and they're clear you
might want to use buttons or indeed just
highlight some words and link them
through but don't fill an entire article
full of links use them sensibly and
subtly and they'll work much better
[Music]
following on from links my next tip is
around banners now it's okay to add
Adsense and banner ads to your Amazon
affiliate site but again don't overdo it
you don't your site to look horrible and
spammy with a banner across the top and
down each side and across the bottom and
then within some content as well it's
too much it makes the site look rubbish
and Amazon are just not going to go for
it so if you are going to add banner ads
to your site do it subtly do it so that
they're in keeping with the site and
they're relevant and they match the
styling and they don't look out of place
if you do that you'll be just fine
[Music]
the next tip is around disclosure it's
very important that you make it clear
that you are an Amazon affiliate or an
Amazon associate and you're promoting
products on Amazon and just kind of add
that legal blurb or whatever it is to
the disclosure text of which you'll find
on any of my affiliate marketing
websites I'll put links to them in the
description you can go check them out
but you'll find in the footer I've just
got a little power off a text that
clearly says I'm an hours an associate
or an Amazon affiliate and yeah my site
promotes products and hopefully you're
okay with that it's a really good thing
to have and it just shows Amazon that
you're serious and the official and
you're doing everything by the book the
next tip is around social media now of
course it's fine to use social media to
promote stuff but the way I would
approach it is that you use social media
to promote stuff within your site don't
just link straight off to Amazon
products from your social media Amazon
really don't like it and one thing that
Amazon also really don't like is people
that fit in the application form to
become an affiliate and put social URLs
rather than their website URL so it's
fine to use social media and of course
do set up a Twitter account set up a
Facebook account Instagram Pinterest
whatever is it suitable for your niche
but don't use them as your primary kind
of promotion method don't put them on
your application to become an affiliate
and don't link directly to Amazon from
your social media just link to your site
and then obviously from your site you
would then link off to Amazon that way
you won't break any rules because I say
Amazon are quite funny about social
media and what you can and can't do and
you should be fine then getting your
application approved and going forward
not getting your application cancelled
or rejected because they've spotted that
you've been putting links all over
Facebook so yeah use social media but
use it just promote stuff on your site
[Music]
my final tip is simply don't give up you
may get rejected on your first
application you may even get rejected on
your second application but don't let
that put you off just go back to your
site make some changes take onboard
whatever advice Amazon may have given
you and they've kind of sent you the
rejection email and and simply submit
your application again now I've heard
from a number of viewers that have said
that it's taken three or four
applications in order to get approved
and but once you've proved you're then
ready to set up your site and in fact
you could easily set up subsequent sites
without having to go through the whole
approval process each time so it's well
worth persevering and resubmitting those
applications should you fail on the
first or second attempt that brings us
to the end of this video I hope you
found it useful long as you keep in mind
that mindset that I mentioned earlier
that you're there to add value and help
people make a purchase so keep that in
mind follow these tips and good luck
with your application I'm sure you're
gonna be fine I'd love to hear how
you've been getting on with your Amazon
affiliate sites and your applications
