again and this time he's doing a
teardown on an affiliate website
information article so let's get started

you're all well so duck's back and this
time he's doing a teardown on an
information article so if you remember
in the last video he was doing a
there was you know comparison tables and
reviews and all that kind of stuff
whereas this time it's gonna be an
article that actually gives some useful
information to help people make a
purchase I'm not gonna say too much more
about it I'm just gonna roll the tape go
for it Doug what's more exciting than
diapers nothing is just kidding I don't
even have kids so I literally know
nothing about diapers I want to share an
informational article with you and I'm
gonna tear it down I'm going to talk
about what's good what's bad a lot of
people ask about what they should cover
from an informational standpoint after
all we can't have our affiliate sites
with all refis Liat reviews amazon
doesn't really like that I usually do
50% informational 50% affiliate reviews
now you can put affiliate links in your
informational content but the sole
purpose is to provide information if
you're talking about cloth and
disposable diapers you obviously have an
opportunity to put affiliate links in
this article which I'm sure baby gear
lab does by the way we are reviewing
baby gear lab again one of the places
that you can get ideas for articles is
your competition you can go to sites
like baby gear lab check out what they
are talking about and just see what kind
of questions they're answering on their
site you can you know write something
similar you can put in your own words
obviously you can't copy it of course
but you could put in your own words and
what I like to do is basically pull
together a bunch of sources and then put
together aggregate that information so
there's actually a better source than
the original ones because you're pulling
information together we will just kind
of scroll down and I'm just gonna look
at it from without reading anything yet
actually probably at all but I see an
image right at the top tells me hey that
baby's wearing a cloth diaper
and uh so they're gonna talk about
diapers that's great what I see here is
on h2 tag and h3 tag right here and
those are subheadings a great way to
break up the text I generally see short
sentences and here we have bullet points
right here these types of rich text and
rich formatting those are great you
really need to have that kind of stuff
to one make it easier to read and to any
kind of rich snippet on Google comes
from either bullet bulleted lists like
this numbered lists or tables that's
pretty much it so they have a bulleted
list here and they get right into you
know some pretty heavy text this is kind
of a long paragraph that's in my opinion
a little too long but I mean let's face
it if someone's reading this they are
very into diapers and you know they're
trying to choose if they want to get
disposables or cloth diapers I'll just
continue to note same sort of stuff that
we saw before you have short sentences
in general not all of them are but
mixing it up is a good touch we also see
some links throughout right and we see
some bold as well as images of the
actual products it's important to note
that baby gear lab does buy all the
products they aren't donated they buy
them all they test them all and they
actually review them so it's pretty
tough to compete if you can't get ahold
of the products that's okay you can read
you know stuff on Amazon you can read
the reviews by real users you can read
this review for example other people
that actually purchase the products in
reviewing you can read their reviews and
get a better idea
you can watch youtube videos of people
really reviewing them and seeing a movie
is far more descriptive or you can come
up with much better details watching a
video than you can just by reading the
reviews on Amazon I'm gonna say that if
you're looking for ideas you can go to
you know competitor sites or bigger
sites like baby gear lab you can go to
forums and check out what questions
people are asking you can go to Facebook
groups to see what questions are being
asked in facebook groups oriented
you know new parents in this case you
can go to Cora which is a great Q&A site
and those areas will give you great
ideas for what to cover you want to do
about 50 50 informational to affiliate

there's a couple of things I'd like to
tell you the first is I don't know if
you notice but the other day I did a
live stream I was just kind of messing
around and set up a quick 10-minute live
stream and a few of you came on and it
was great fun for those 10 minutes and
you said you'd like more of them so
that's what I'm going to do I've decided
I'm going to try and do a live stream
every Wednesday evening when I say
evening that's 8 p.m. UK time GMT so let
me just get my time calculator out so 8
p.m. that we free p.m. if you're on the
East Coast New York side in the States
and that'd be 12 midday if you're over
on the other side I think that's PST
time is ittle piddy time I don't know
kind of pointy aside so I'll put some
other time zones up on the screen now if
you're the other way it's gonna be a bit
later yeah so 8 o'clock tonight so I'm
gonna hopefully get this video up before
before then I'm gonna do a live stream
for maybe 45 minutes an hour and I'm
just going to answer your questions
about anything you like really and we
could talk about WordPress we can talk
about affiliate marketing whatever so
