hello to all of you I've got some
questions that posted in various comment
sections
earlier today and earlier this week so
we can dive into them as well including
reviews how do you get started in the
flute marketing how do you update your
WordPress theme without ruining your
site how do you capture email addresses
and by offering a download so I've got
all those as well as a ton of others so
yeah we got any questions but I'm happy
to also try and answer questions in the
chat if you're on last week you might
have seen that I struggle to keep up
with all the chat questions and we've
got a little bit confused but yeah I'm
happy to do that so do post questions in
the chat box if you've got any I pull

wait so let's start with one of the
questions that I got earlier and I
haven't actually made a know of
everyone's name but hopefully you'll
recognize your question and and the
first one is how to write reviews for
your affiliate website I think that's a
good question because we're talking
about content and reviews come up quite
a lot but you know a lot of people get
stuck in terms of one where do you start
well the best place to start is by
actually ordering products yourself and
doing reviews if you saw the video that
Doug sent me I think it was week or so
back where he was talking about review
content he was looking at a website
called baby gear lab which is a really
successful affiliate marketing site and
they do buy all of the products and do
reviews on those products that they get
now obviously we can't order that
because that would involve spending
quite a bit money on products etc so the
next best thing is just do some research
online
so you know gone to YouTube have a look
for reviews go onto Amazon itself and
read some of the reviews try and get a
good idea of what people are saying
about the product I'm so you look at the
positive and the negative reviews and
then from that you should be able to put
together your own review and maybe you
can even embed some of the YouTube clips
you know bring a load of reviews
together and do it that way best pet
surprises just said you can buy reviews
on Fiverr both ago I guess I'm not quite
sure how they prepare those reviews
probably the same way I'm saying about
doing some research and I'm putting
sound together and those two ideas that
obviously can't afford to buy the
product then you just have to do some
research online putting together stuff
that you find online to actually create
your own review Richard has just asked
can you pull in reviews from Amazon
automatically you can Woo's own does
that and it does put reviews on all the
products which is great but in terms of
creating content for your blog good
content that you can share on Facebook
and other social media platforms and
good content that people actually want
to come and read and then you are gonna
have to prepare your own reviews and put
them in your blog and that kind of stuff
the best pet supplies just said the heat
bought five texts for twenty dollars and
there are a thousand words each what
were they like are they on your site
maybe we could have a look at one so
that's the reviews I hope that was
helpful
the next question I've got and this is a
question that comes up quite a bit and
it might be something you're thinking
right now if you haven't actually
started your internet marketing journey
as it were is how do you get started
where do you start and because there's a
lot of information out on the internet a
lot of information on my channel on
YouTube and there's a ton of training
courses that are also available all all
about affiliate marketing and making
money online stuff and it can be
overwhelming so your people get stuck
and they don't start because they don't
know where to start so this is kind of
how I do it and if I'm thinking of
starting a fit my project the first
thing you need to do is get clear on the
products that you're gonna be rotating
the market you're going to be going into
so to do this there's a number of videos
on this but you basically go over to
Amazon or something like that and start
drilling down into the categories
try and pick something that you're
vaguely interested in because it will
make it a bit more fun and you'll be
more inspired to create content but yet
drill down into the Amazon categories
you want to find something that is quite
nice quite specific the more specific
the better generally because it makes it
easier to create content and once you
narrowed it down to a couple of things
then just pick one because you're not
necessarily going to choose the right
one I'm afraid in business and an
internet marketing in general it's all
about trying stuff out and seeing if it
works and you're probably not going to
pick the great the best niche in the
world
first time out but you just need to pick
one and then run with it the next thing
I'll do is once I've chosen one is start
looking for domain names so go to
GoDaddy or someone like that and
register a.com or.net or whatever you
want it doesn't necessarily have to have
the keywords in the domain name but it's
a good start so for example best pet
supplies dog store is quite a good one
if you're doing pet surprise so yeah you
can go for that add some keywords or you
can have something a little bit more
generic it's entirely up to you um once
you got your domain name you then ready
to start building your website and
you've got two options here you can
follow some of my videos on the channel
where you can build an Amazon affiliate
site using wasone which is a great way
of kind of having a little mini store
and you can pull down the products you
want and lay them out as you need to to
get that operating using WordPress the
other option is you can create a blog
type site again there's videos on how to
do that so just a very simple WordPress
site where you're going to start adding
content and articles and reviews and
things like that
and well that should be enough to keep
you going and once you started doing
these things you'll think of other
things to do because then once you get
your website you'll you'll want to
create a Facebook page you want to start
creating more content and it kind of
naturally goes on try not to be
overwhelmed by everything it does sound
like a big task that you know you've got
to do all these things you got to find a
niche you've got to build a website and
all that kind of stuff just do it one
step at a time there's a famous saying I
think it's famous for I've heard it
before which is how do you eat an
elephant and the answer is yeah a little
piece at a time if you would want to
tweet an elephant but I wouldn't eat
less but you get the idea
this ain't big you just got to start
with small small action so the first
action is just try a five-second and
then the next action is to buy a domain
name and once you bought that domain
name you
I committed then and and you'll find
yourself doing more stuff I hope that
was useful again I can't remember who
asked all these questions next time I'll
make a note from me of who asks Adrian I
will Adrian has asked who would I
recommend for some training now I would
recommend dog I've had a look at its
course and it is really good I'm gonna
go through a few more courses I think
Ashley and check them out myself what
I'll do is I'll put a post together or a
video together on which courses I think
you're worth it and which ones aren't
and hopefully that's helpful I'm I've
not really looked at many courses and so
if they're all stuff everything that
I've ever learned I've just done using
YouTube or just hunting around the web
generally I don't pay for courses I have
though some books as well but I don't
read them very often
I read them all okay you keep posting

try and get to them all just kind of dip
into them as I can so let's have a site
review I'm happy to do some site reviews
as well best pet supplies just sent me
his sights on a new site which I will
now attempt to share with you and it is
this one so let me just get into it okay
so this is slightly spoon made with X
theme I pretty sure because I have made
a video in the past or next week I'm
pretty sure there is a video on the
channel on how to create a site with XP
so do check that that's great theme I'll
probably do another one
kind of more affiliate based very soon
but this is X team looks great X fame is
a really powerful theme allows you to do
all sorts things its WooCommerce
compatible so therefore it work with
wasone and that kind of thing
looks good is drag-and-drop so you have
a really good site and looks very
professional I can see you've added some
products in there they're different
sizes again which seems to be a common
problem with move zone that I'm sure
they can be fixed maybe with a bit of
CSS you're linking there through to some
different channels that's pretty cool
then if we go into your categories so
that you've broken everything down
nicely so very product orientated it's
gonna need a bit more content which I'm
sure you're aware of and so look at your
blog I think you've only got that one
haven't you yeah but this looks like
some good content is a sort of content
that you're going to want this is
information type content where you're
giving you know valuable stuff away that
people can use so people learning you
know how to train with dumbbells and
then you'll see great opportunities to
drop some ads and some links to products
and and that kind of stuff so this is a
great example of an affiliate site and I
wish you good luck with it and just get
some good content on it as Doug says you
know you want ten great pieces of
content and then you want to start
thinking about reaching out to other
fitness related sites and offering them
some of your content and getting a guest
post basically good
so Richard let's have a look at your
site
it's an adventure not code at UK give me
a second okay screen share and this one
now you say the site's ranks they didn't
load too bad then
it's looking good obviously using
Kingdom theme approach so I'm gonna
click there let's see how long it's
gonna take to load first thing have you
increased your server memory which I've
been for a couple times of videos you
have to get up to at least 128 Meg whoo
that's a nice video you're running there
on the slider the second thing you want
to do is I think this been raised
earlier check that Hostgator have got
you on the right PHP version I think you
need version 5 and above yeah that is
slow let's see if I can run it through
Google PageSpeed if that gives us any
clues the next thing is you're going to
need to maybe upgrade your hosting throw
up a package in how to cater to
something that's a bit more high
performance or switch over to WP engine
which are quite a bit more expensive but
they are very fast
let's just see what Google says
see that's actually not getting a bad
school 76 is quite good at 83 is good as
well so that's interesting
you could also install a caching plug-in
if you have done that already
again I've got some videos on that on
the on the site and yeah but generally
that's not a bad score let me refresh

bye it is being quite unresponsive so a
caching plug-in should definitely help
with that also you need to start adding
some some content and all that kind of
stuff

thinking of creating his own website for
that news Amazon is my favorite program
but another kind of still use your
Twitter traffic etc yeah it applies to
any affiliate type site so same rules
apply create lots of content and get it
shared use social media gopher guest
posts and all the usual stuff in terms
of page design woo zone is not going to
work with any other program apart from
Amazon so if you're gonna go with other
programs don't use blue zone you can use
WooCommerce because we would come once
you can set up affiliate products just
add them manually or just set up a book
type site and just add the links
manually so that's that question before
I'm just going to dive into the chat
because unfortunately if you're watching
this live you can see the chat but I say
unfortunately if you're watching this
after the event I've found my way of
showing the chat which is a bit of pain
but excellent tech who just created the
site that we just looked at the the
flare Fox one he's just saying that he
gets quite a good Commission because
people tend to by 10 to 15 flower pots
him won't go rather than just a single
item so that's worth keeping in mind
when you're thinking of which products
to choose that if you can choose
something where people buy a large
quantity and one go you're going to get
a good Commission on that whole order
and so I'll still go just in there and
that's it I think so yeah just register
and let's have a look at another
question so I've got one here which is
all about creating a fit marketing
website using the storefront theme let
me just share this question with you on
the screen so you can read it because
these aren't quite long
here we go so and it might website and
basically looking to capture email
addresses by offering a free download
which is a good thing to do then there's
a second question there of how to update
the theme without wrecking the website
which I'll talk about as well so the
first thing is capturing email addresses
by offering download so maybe you
created a PDF guide or some of that or
you've got a free bit of software that's
pretty unlikely though if you're doing a
food marketing but a good guide is a
good thing to have so you know for the
flower pots it might be you're also a
guide on window boxes free pdf twenty
page guide or something like that which
you put together and you're just going
to offer this for free but in exchange
you do want an email address so the way
I want to do this with WordPress is I
use MailChimp which I'm sure you've all
heard of MailChimp is a free email piece
of software so get any MailChimp account
and hook it up to your site I've got a
video on the channel on how to do this
just do a search so you basically add a
form then to your site from MailChimp
and you can even use a gravity forms as
well which is another great plug-in that
I recommend it is a premium plug-in but
that's good way of doing it so you
create a form and then what you do is
you just redirect that person after
they've completed the form onto a page
which has got your download link so you
create a page you know downloads and you
can redirect them to that page after
they complete the form and then they can
download you'll want to set that page
using Yoast to no index so it doesn't
appear on search engines or anything
like that people could share it you know
if they wanted to and rip you off that
way but it's unlikely another way of
doing it rather than redirecting people
after they fill in the form is to
include the link to that page within the
email so in MailChimp you'd set up a an
email that fires off as soon as someone
fills in the form then within that email
you say hey thanks for signing up and
here's your download and then you'd have
the link in email to that page which has
got the download in terms of adding
downloads to WordPress it's very easy
things like PDF you can just use the add
Media button within WordPress and upload
it to the media library then you just
you know write the word download and
then
highlight it and then link through to
that piece of media on your site
hope that makes sense I'll do a video on
that soon so I can show you exactly what
I'm talking about
the next question is about how do you
update the feel about wrecking the
website
it shouldn't wreck their website but I'm
guessing you're talking about Kingdom
which is when you update from version to
version free I did a video on this and
it did wreck the website and there's not
a lot you can do about it it's because
the two themes aren't compatible but
generally if you update a theme you
should be fine
everything should remain intact and you
shouldn't lose anything a good way is to
run a child theme a lot of things come
with a child theme so you install the
main theme and then you install the
child theme activate the child theme and
then you can very easily update the main
thing just by deleting it and then
installing the new version so yeah good
advice is to always use a child theme as
best pet supplies has just said in the
chat so that's that question done so

go to your RedBubble affiliate account

generating your affiliate links and then
you just add it as a link within your
WordPress content so if it's a blog post
you just highlight the words that you
want to create or the image that you
want to create as a link and then just
paste your affiliate link in if you want
to do it in a kind of product sort of
way and then you go to Woo's own and
products and click add new product and
you create a affiliate product I think
it's cool and then again you can paste
the link in there and it creates a
product or then when someone clicks the
Buy button it just sends straight off of
course your affiliate link

it and how do I get paid you generally
get paid from the affiliate program that
you sign up with so that's gonna vary
depending on who you're with but
generally as providing you given your
bank details you get paid every month
sometimes it's a bit longer depending on
what you're promoting question from

have you had success with email scraping
no I wouldn't recommend it it's a bit
spammy just getting email addresses the
best way to get em addresses is that
like I just explained use MailChimp
collect email addresses on your site
offer some for free then you've got a
real quality list that you can send them
out to question there how many different
product web pages can you have with
WordPress and with Amazon affiliate you
can have as many as you like
there isn't an upper limit not I can
think of they'll see when you get into
thousands and tens of thousands your
hosting might need to upgrade because
that becomes quite a big database and
your site might get a bit slow can you
import other products other than Amazon
onto your website you can't import them
using Moodle but you can add them
manually there is a video on my channel
there's a little while back now where I
think there's on the FAQ videos where I
go through adding other products and the
aren't Amazon can you change in the main
yes you can when you can change the
Train quite easily you just register a
new domain and then you just switch your
hosting with your hosting provider if
you need to move your site again I've
got a video this is way back so you
gonna need to research my channel
I think it's called changing domain or
some of that you'll find a video on how
to do

do I know a faster way to create
backlinks there isn't really a fast way
I'm afraid if there is a fast way it's
probably not going to work very well one
quick way is to go to a company like
directory Maximizer which I think I
mentioned in videos previously and you
pay them and they'll sign you up for a
load of directories that will get you
some back things quickly whether they'll
add much value and whether you'll rank
from them who knows I don't think
they're going to do a great deal the
best way is to get links slowly and
carefully and make sure that they're of
high quality at the end of day if you
can get you know just a handful of
really good high-quality links from
authority sites that's going to give you
a search engine boost much higher than
just getting a load of fast cheap links
so I disasters Amazon close your
affiliation if there is no sell in 180
days they can do I'm afraid
comment there that you've read
directories can be bad it's kind of
mixed thoughts on that I've used them
for a while and never had any problems I
don't know if they're necessarily bad
but I don't know how much benefit they
have nowadays yeah some directories
might be spending spammy expanding
spammy another comment there some
directories might be spamming yeah you
just forget which is why you should use
a reputable company to sign you have
structure as if that's what you do so
I've mentioned directory Maximizer I
think that's what they call do a search
they're pretty good
when yeah if you need to change your
domain name another question how do I
change the rain then basically this way
just to register a new domain name and
then get in touch with your host and say
I need to change my domain name to this
other one I've registered and they'll
sort yeah it's generally you just change
some settings on your hosting and your
way

whether you start from scratch this is a
big question I don't know what's the

has kind of restricted me a little bit
because now this channel can really only
be about WordPress because of the name
and though maybe I should have just
called it Alex Cooper and and just you
know then I could do other things I I
don't know the answer this question I
think is my honest opinion it's whatever
feels right with you whether you want to
use your real name to promote stuff or
whether you want to do something else
and you know come up with something new
the loss questionnaire is one of the
websites which I guess is an affiliate
website is asking for you social number
when applying you don't live in the u.s.
you just have to ask them about that
whether they're you know they'll accept
you you know dump you in the UK and be
your National Insurance number whatever
kind of number you have for your country
is probably fine but that's going to
depend
on the affiliate stuff you're signing up

I'm not sure don't ask it again and I'll

I've had a couple of sounds through
their zombie Merck website below nothing
to really write home about
so yeah Jim if you want to let me know
that question while we're on I will do
my best to answer it let's have a look
I've got a couple more questions from
earlier yeah here's a good one from
Angus Campbell let me just pop it up
here Angus asks is one that you left on
the forum I don't get on the forum as
much as I'd liked by the way I will get
on that bit more so the problem is proto
show you how to stock when you
transition through to Amazon a couple of
reasons why this can happen the first is
that the product is out of stock and for
whatever reason Woo's own hasn't kept
itself up to date so check the
synchronization log see if there's any
errors in there the next reason is that
you've imported products from a country
that's different to the one that you're
visiting on Amazon if that makes sense
so to example you live in the UK and
you've imported a load of products from
amazon.com and then you then go and
visit this your own affiliate site and
you go to check out and you get
redirected across to Amazon Dakota UK
but the product you're looking at is
actually only on amazon.com you'll get
that out stop message so you've got to
make sure that yeah the countries all
match up and the products you're
importing available in the country that
you're shopping from that's that
question didn't ok so Jimmy has popped
up there with his question regarding
cloaking should you cloak affiliate
links yes I think you probably should so
there's a way to do this using plugins
on WordPress you'll notice that all the
links I share all WP eagle links I think
it makes it easier
for people to remember so that's one
good reason to you're able then to track
all the clicks and stuff like that
through them which is handy another good
reason is that if you're going to
promote stuff on YouTube you can't
publish or put links in cards for
example to sites that you don't own so
it's good well get around that because
you can then notice you put your own
links which then redirect through I
think there's lots of good reasons to
redirect a feeling so I will do a video
on how to do it let me just make a note
that's video I need to do cloaking or
three links doesn't apply if you're
using we don't take care of everything
but this is you know when you're
inserting links into blog post that kind
of stuff is it's a good idea to click
them
uh Angus you're there so just on your
question that we just did so you do
import from the UK and okay that's weird
send me an email and I'll have a look at
your site and with a login and I'll take
a look and see what's going on there so
best pet supplies has just said that
cloaking Amazon links they might not
like that so other you know other
companies should be fine it's a question
from Adrian which is about content so
he's got say 15 keywords that he wants
to rank for and he wonders how on earth
to create content for them should you
stuff them all into one post or what do
you do okay so first thing is you
shouldn't stuff them all into one post
you should actually probably be thinking
about creating 15 pieces of content if
you got 15 keywords wanna rank for
probably need 15 bits of content unless
they're really similar then you might be
able to put you know two or three of
them into one piece of content but
generally each keyword or each key
phrase should be an idea for a piece of
content and then you just create
something around that
okay let's take another question from
the vault where they gone okay we've
done that one that's how do you get
started
oh I think I've done them all yeah
they're all the ones I had that we just
don't check on Facebook if there's any
more yeah nothing that I it hasn't been
covered so yeah put some more questions

hello what's the difference between tags
and keywords that's an interest of
questionnaire so when we talk about
keywords we're talking about the words
that we want our site to come up for in
search engines so a keyword for me might
be yeah WordPress tutorial videos and
that is the keyword that I want to come
up for now a tag is something that
WordPress uses and it's a way of
grouping stuff together in terms of
WordPress so you might tag something
WordPress tutorial video and I'll tag up
all my videos with that and it just
groups them together in terms of SEO
doesn't actually have much of an effect
so they are two separate things and the
only time where they're actually quite
similar is on YouTube when I upload a
video I can add tags and again I would
add keywords to to those tags and
YouTube actually kind of uses them to
work out what the videos about but in
terms of WordPress tags are optional
really and they're generally just used a
bit like categories and to group similar
posts and products and stuff together
when yeah you come back years I know you
meant Yost's I was joking so yeah I have
got some videos on yes and we were doing
more up to date one soon but there's a
few I did one recently on how to do an
XML sitemap with Yoast and maybe I could
you know next week's live stream we
could we could pick a topic and drill
down into a bit deeper and I could share
my screen with you guys we could do a
live stream of my screen and we can
maybe go through optimizing a post or a
page using Yossi and I do exactly what
to do yeah that's a good idea I think

I recommend SEO and the way you negate
rank which is search engine optimization
getting ranked on Google the way you're
going to do that is by creating good
content and creating some good content
from other people's websites and getting
them to feature you as a guest and
getting some links that way another good
way of promoting your website is by
using social media so building up a
social media following on Facebook and
Instagram and Pinterest and Twitter and
then using that to promote your articles
your products you guides and all that

do host stuff for companies as well for
some clients which I do I just use I've
got three companies that I use I use
Hostgator funny enough for kind of like
my smaller sites stuff like that I use
PSO host which I've just used for a long
time they're not quite as good as they
used to be if I'm honest but I find them
with them I've got reseller hosting so
enables me just to create hosting
accounts as and when I need to and then
for my high-end stuff I just shoot WP
engine again I've got like a twenty five
site account with them so I can just
create size hasn't one I need them I
don't have a dedicated server anything
like that and because I well I just
haven't looked into it and I it's been
so much of a pain to move all the sites
and stuff that I've got but you know
maybe I should have done that start with
but yeah I'm happy with the companies
are using Germany a reseller hosting
account is fine

workshop where you could attend I've

get paid from those different companies

should be now the drop shipping he's
referring to my other channel where I
did some videos about drop shipping and
didn't have much success the drop
shipping is parked it's something that I
may come back to or will come back to
I'm going to come back to it but not
right now my next venture I've got a
couple actually the first is to create
more videos photography Eagle on a more
regular basis and I need to do some more
up-to-date tutorials some of the longer
ones and I've got a couple of the
pipeline right now what you're going to
be really good hopefully and I'm going
to create an officially gonna focus on
it and try and get the earnings up so
you guys can actually see in detail the
building then the getting the guest
posts and creating content and getting
the earnings so that should be fun
another project I'm working on it is
called you can do and it's a training
academy which I'm doing with some other
guys and it's full of videos on
WordPress and business and affiliate and
all that kind of stuff so that's another
venture that I'm working on which also
have been out to put as much effort into
as I like in terms of creating videos
but yeah that's what I'm working on
mostly things and just kind of wrapping
up my client work a bit so turning that
stuff down and and focusing on those
things and I'm just creating more videos

is an expensive place to do things but
it's easy for a lot people to get to so
