a bit of extra revenue that I'd kind of
forgotten about and haven't been
checking so I'll be telling you all
about that as well now before we get

hello it's Alex here I hope you're all
well Happy New Year hope you had a great
Christmas hope you had a good New Year
it's January and it's Monday so yes it's
back to work for me
probably for you too so I thought it
would be a good time to give you guys an
update on exactly where we're at with my
website best roof box.com so let me
start by telling you about the updates
that I've done to the site since the
last video and well yeah I haven't
really done many updates at all I've
been a bit lazy what it's been Christmas
and you know that kind of stuff so not
really done any work on the site I have
got some content that just needs a
little bit of editing and is ready to be
added to the site so should be adding
that over the next couple of weeks I did
a few little cosmetic changes to the
site the first thing is that I changed
the about Us page and the Contact Us
page to a full width template raised it
to do just edit the page and change the
page template yeah I just wanted to
ditch the sidebar because it was getting
a bit long
speaking of sidebars let's the other
area that I've made a few little changes
I basically added a new Adsense unit to
the top of the sidebar so there's one at
the top and the bottom now basically I'm
just trying to increase the revenue from
Adsense because it's still very very low
and I've adjusted those ad units from
being fixed width they were a fixed
width of 300 pixels I've changed them
over to being responsive and units so
they basically fill the sidebar nicely
before they were a little bit too narrow
and didn't look quite right so a little
tweak there and they look better but
other than that no other changes to the
site by the time you get to the next
update there will be a whole load more
content on there and yeah I've got some
great content in the pipeline and I'm
gonna be doing a full video on this new
content because yeah I basically used a
brand new service from Carl you may have
heard me talking about it in the live
stream and I'm gonna be doing a full
video on exactly what he provided me and
show you the content and all that stuff
so be sure to look out for that one so
let's get on with some numbers because I
know that's the main reason why you're
watching this video you want to see how
much money it's making don't you well
let's start with the traffic I'll put
some analytics up on the screen now so
as we can see traffic is looking very
good indeed in December we had four
thousand four hundred and eighty six
users that's up 31 percent on the
previous month sessions are up to five
thousand seven hundred and fifty seven
which is up 25% on the previous month
and if we drill down we can see that
organic is growing it's growing really
well it's at 44 percent we have a total
of three thousand two hundred fifty-nine
users coming from organic search if it
just change the date range and we look
at what January is already looking like
we can see that it's still looking
really good traffic is up so I'm really
confident about January if we continue
growing at this rate it's gonna be a
fantastic month but as this extra
traffic translated into extra earnings
well yes
let's have a look
so we can see that the total earnings
from Amazon in December 331 dollars and
eighty four cents there was plenty of
roof boxes that were ordered in December
so that translated into some good
Commission
as I mentioned at the beginning of this
video it's probably the title of the
video - there were some lost earnings
basically I hadn't been checking the UK
earnings and if you remember a while
back I set up Amazon one link all that
basically does is if someone comes from
the UK to the website and they click on
one of my amazon.com affiliate links
should be automatically redirected to
the relevant product on Amazon UK
and when they make a purchase I've shown
a commission so yeah I kind of stumbled
across it the other day and if we look
at the UK earnings generated by best
route box for December they look like
this
and we can see that it's 43 pounds and
15 pence which translates to around $56
good to bad and drill-down we can see
that there was a thule box in there too
so yeah though the UK earnings aren't
particularly great and effect in terms
of the total earnings it's not much more
than this cuz I checked back a few
months but yeah that's reassuring and if
we add the two together that brings us
up to a total of three hundred and
eighty-seven dollars for December from
Amazon which is the best month so far I
mentioned I was trying to increase the
amount of generated from Adsense and if
we take a look you can see why I'm
trying to do that because the earnings
are still pretty pitiful coming in at
nine dollars 22 for December so not
particularly great but may be that extra
ad unit will increase that so yeah not
too much to report on Adsense but Amazon
is looking really strong now if we take
a sneak peek at how well January's doing
it's quite exciting let's have a look
so yeah we can see that for January we
are already up to 135 dollars 45 cents
from Amazon so yeah wow if we carry on
at that sort of level then it could be a
$600 month $700 month and I want to
count my chickens just yet but yes
looking strong and with the traffic
looking strong as well I'm really
excited about January and you know maybe
people will hit the January sales and
think about investing in a roof box who
knows well wait and see so that brings
