in this video I'm gonna be giving you an
update on my affiliate marketing website

the latest traffic numbers as well as
the latest earnings and I've also set up
some video ads for the site on YouTube
so I'm gonna be showing you exactly how
I did that

hope you're all well so this video is an
update on the progress of my affiliate
marketing website best roof book.com
hopefully you've been following along if
you haven't and you've got no idea what
I'm talking about then do check out the
playlist I'll put a link up in a card
now in that playlist you'll find all the
videos around the site including the
first one which is a full length
tutorial on how I built the website with
WordPress so then the rest of the videos
are basically all the work that I've
done on the site and all the earnings
and traffic and all that cool stuff so
yeah if you're not been following him go
check it out now so let's start by
looking at the figures and here's Google
Analytics and we can see that traffic
continues to grow and if I compare the
last 30 days with the previous 30 days
traffic is actually up 68 percent which
is fantastic if I change the dates and
go way back to when the site was
launched we can see that the graph is
looking really good it's going up and up
and up so you're really happy with the
traffic growth no complaints there all
that content not banana to the site is
obviously starting to pay off so next
let's have a look at the earnings and
what earnings seems to have slowed down
a little bit I mean there's been a few
sales and there's still order on there
that hasn't been shipped so I don't go
to Commission on that and I think that
is a roof box so that's gonna give me a
little boost
but yeah the last week or so there
haven't really been many conversions on
Amazon and I've been scratching my head
kind of wondering what the hell's going
on because as I show you traffic is
going up so in theory conversions should
also be going up as well
one theory on this we talked about this
a little bit in my live stream last
night and by the way I do go live pretty
much every week on a Wednesday be good
to see you there yeah we were talking
about this and the main idea that came
out was that Amazon Prime Day is around
the corner I think it's in a few days
and people could be holding off placing
orders on Amazon until were its prime
day in the hope that they're gonna get
some kind of discount so hopefully it's
that and that's why everything's slowed
down well of course give you another
update next week if anything has changed
so the other thing I want to show you in
this update is the video ad that I've
recently started
to run in fact I only launched it this
morning so there's no data on it as such
but let me show exactly what I did
so WP Eagle regular Dennis has created
me another video another short little
kind of advert sort of video it looks
like this and here I uploaded it to
YouTube up to the YouTube channel for
best roof box comm which I created in my
last update video do go check that out
if you haven't seen it I've uploaded the
ad and then I jumped into Google Adwords
started creating a campaign basically
just went through the setup wizard
I didn't choose a goal for the heat
campaign because I like to have full
access to all of the settings and
options around creating a campaign and
then went through and set a budget I've
set a total budget of a hundred pounds
so we'll see how much traffic we get
from that by the way I'm gonna try and
measure it using Google Analytics
outbound link tracker which I set up
when I really set up Google Analytics I
mean it is quite difficult to kind of
tie revenue back to an ad campaign but
you know if I can measure how many
outbound clicks from the website is
generated that will give me a rough idea
of how many people I've sent over to
Amazon using this campaign and then you
know doing some calculations with
conversion rate and stuff like that I
might be able to work out whether I've
she you know driven any ROI but there'll
be another video on that soon so yeah I
said a hundred pounds budget I am
targeting the US with the ad and then I
just basically chose a load of
placements on YouTube and those
placements are other Ruth books related
videos so my video is now going to
pre-roll before those videos start
playing you know you've seen the ads on
YouTube people can skip them but good
thing is if they do skip them you don't
pay so I'm only gonna be paying for
people that actually you know watch the
video so I'm interested to see how well
this works out in theory it should work
pretty well because the people that are
watching these other roof box rated
videos in theory are in the market for a
roof box so if I can just get them over
to the site and then get them to click
through to Amazon and I should get the
cookie on their computer and then
there's a chance I'm gonna earn some
commission the end is pretty
straightforward I did add a call to
action which just basically is a button
that says learn more
yo Ellen and that's about it and I said
there will be an update on how well this
video ad works when it ends which were
probably the end of next week but then I
am going on holiday so we'll see how it
works out but there will be video soon
