hey this is Ryan Hildreth and in this
video I'm going to show you how to run
profitable Facebook ads in 2019 and
beyond I'm going to go through a
step-by-step tutorial if you're a
beginner or if you're advanced and want
to take a different perspective on
Facebook Ads

all right so before we get into building
out a Facebook campaign together in my
Facebook Ads manager I want to start off
by giving you some key concepts that are
gonna help you become super profitable
with Facebook Ads
so you don't lose money and you don't
make mistakes the same mistakes that I
did okay so this is gonna be a Facebook
Ads tutorial for 2019 and on if you
aren't running ads as we speak you need
to be it's one of the highest paid
skillsets online and you know if you
don't have your own business businesses
will pay you to run ads for them as a
client or as an affiliate and I'll show
you what I mean by that okay so the
number one mistake and then there's
three big mistakes that people make with
when getting into Facebook ads and
watching YouTube videos just like this
and that's exactly why I'm going over
these three mistakes is number one not
enough market research so you have to
identify what type of business you're in
obviously if you know you know you sell
fitness products or you sell
done-for-you services or some type of
you know any type of service or product
you know go do your market research and
I'm gonna show you a tool that you can
use in your Facebook Ads manager to do
that research very very easily and find
your perfect customer the ones you
actually want that to purchase from you
okay number two is not enough testing so
when you first start running Facebook
Ads you have to have at least 5 to 10
different ad sets and maybe you know two
different campaigns okay that's that's a
minimum two campaigns and five to ten
different ad sets which means different
variations you're targeting different
because you never know what's gonna work
and who is gonna resonate with your ad
and actually purchase your product or
service okay so if you're not willing to
spend at least $300 minimum per month
now that's ten dollars a day then you
probably shouldn't be watching this
video okay but if you're someone who's
like ready to dive in ready to actually
make a dent in their business and move
the needle forward with Facebook Ads
you know 300 bucks is not that much
money and honestly you know the returns
that I've gotten through with Facebook
Ads are exponential like I'll show you
how I'm literally putting in $1.00 in
turning it into two and getting a
hundred percent ROI on my money okay so
I'm gonna show you exactly how I do that
and how to test so that your ads are
successful and number three most of my
purchases come from retargeting I would
say that a good 60 to 70 percent of my
purchases come from retargeting ads
because someone has to see your face
seven times in order to remember you and
that's a big thing that a lot of
advertiser advertisers are making a
mistake on is because they think they're
going after the customer that is you
know ready to buy right away but really
the sweet spot is going after the
customer that you know if they see you
multiple times maybe you know three to
seven days later they'll purchase from
you and stay with your company for a
long time and keep purchasing from you
so retargeting is essential especially
you know because when someone wants to
buy a product or service if you're not
gonna sell them on your product or
service they're gonna go to the person
that they see more often and that they
trust okay so I want to help you start
retargeting so that you can get more
sales and become more profitable with
your business so let's go ahead and jump
on to my ads manager right here as you
can see this is one campaign that I've
been running for you know a little under
two months now or a little over two
months now okay so just about two months
I've spent about four thousand on this
campaign alone okay four thousand two
hundred forty five dollars I've gotten
one hundred and twenty two purchases and
as you can see on the front end of my
business I've made about $9,500 okay so
spent about four thousand to make nine
thousand on the front end I've made an
additional six thousand dollars on the
back end of this business by selling
additional products and services okay so
you know the the best thing you can do
is at least break even to acquire that
customer
and then sell them more stuff right
that's the that's the best thing you can
do but Facebook is so powerful that
you're able to become profitable right
away like I'm I spent four thousand to
make nine thousand back acquire all
those customers and then sell them on
additional products for an additional
six thousand dollars okay and if you
stay until the end of this video or you

let's get back to the Facebook Ads part
so you know as you see I'm getting
purchases for anywhere from eleven
dollars all the way up to a hundred
dollars but this customer is worth two
hundred dollars to me an average
customer is worth about $200 to me so
you know I'm profitable from the get-go
and it's because I'm utilizing a special
method that I'm about to show you okay
so as you see my the most purchases came
from my retargeting ad right here so I'm
following up with people and getting
purchases for eleven dollars so let's go
ahead and run a campaign together but
first I want you to know that we have to
give Facebook data okay Facebook is a
tool now Facebook is very powerful if
you give it data if you give it some
information about your customer Facebook
will find the customer for you okay we
don't want to be the other way around we
don't want to like try to find the
customer ourselves utilizing Facebook
Ads we want to utilize Facebook Ads to
find our customers okay and that's a key
thing you need to realize so the first
off if you don't have an email list of
customers that have already purchased
from you or have shown interest in your
business online okay then you obviously
you don't have much data to go off of so
we have to build you know an audience
ourselves so let's go into
here click on the right hand corner
click on audience insights alright and
we're going to actually create an
audience ourselves okay so we're gonna
give Facebook some data about what our
customer might look like and this is
gonna help us become profitable so
choose an audience to start everyone on
Facebook right as you can see there's a
hundred and fifty million to two hundred
million people on Facebook today as we
speak like active users okay I know
there's over two billion or something
like that in total but as of today
there's about 200 million in the United
States alright so what we want to do is
narrow this down to one to five million
people to get it kind of narrow and to
where you know we're not targeting like
a really broad demographic so what we
want to do is you know choose our region
we're gonna choose United States now you
have to decide what you're selling okay
if you're selling a you know make money
online offer or you know digital course
right then figure out you know what age
range are people that are interested in
your digital course or your make money
online offer or your weight loss offer
right you have to decide what the age
range is and you know the key age range
that I've seen for make money online or
weight loss is gonna be anywhere from I
would say 25 to 45 okay so we'll stick
with that 25 to 45 and then we'll go
down there perfect okay so as you see
our audience got smaller eighty to
ninety million okay so now we gonna
we're gonna choose a gender what you
know gender is interested in your
product if you're selling beauty
products obviously you know 80 percent
of P of your purchasers are gonna be
women you know there might be some men
in there as well but most of your
purchasers are gonna be women okay but
you know if we're doing a make money
online offer or digital product or some
type of training or service right we
could just stick with all alright then
you're gonna have interest now interest
is basically what
you know what are what are they
interested in if you're doing a weight
loss offer you know type in weight loss
right as you see right here people are
interested in weight loss ten to fifteen
million people so it narrowed it down
okay and you can narrow down the genders
later on or you can create new audiences
and test a an audience with men an
audience with women in an audience with
all that's three audiences right there
and I highly recommend testing those
three audiences okay because who knows
your offer might resonate with women
better than men or it might resonate
with men better than women or it might
resonate with everyone better than one
specific gender okay so that is why we
create multiple audiences interest we
put weight loss still pretty broad right
here 10 10 to 15 million people we can
also put maybe people that are
interested in yoga okay
and that might narrow it down as well
25 to 30 so it did actually make it
broader but let's just say we wanted to
test women for this audience okay 15 to
20 and narrowed it down a little bit all
right so you can narrow down as much as
possible right here
you can also you know go under this
Advanced tab and you can even target
people that you know maybe they're in a
relationship maybe they're married maybe
you want to target married couples okay
and we could are married women that are
interested in weight loss and yoga
that's very very specific right but this
still is a pretty decent sized audience
7 to 8 million people I can guarantee
that with your ads you're not gonna
reach all these people unless you're
spending you know a hundred thousand
dollars a month okay so this is perfect
this is like a perfect size audience for
a weight loss offer
maybe we're selling a weight loss
supplement okay so what we do now is we
have our audience we have we're
targeting women with this one 25 to 45
interested in weight loss yoga and are
married alright so what we're gonna do
is just press this button up here it's
gonna say save audience and then you can
name that audience you know weight loss
women okay
25 to 45 and you can name that audience
and that's going to save into your ads
manager so that is just an example of
how to create you know one audience if
you want a more in-depth training into
this I will also link down below my
Facebook Ads accelerator okay and that's
gonna show you how to create five to ten
audiences it's gonna go way more in
depth and it's going to be specific to
the business that I'm currently running
right now okay so you can also check
that it out as well if you want so now
that we have our audience right now
we're gonna go to ads manager and we're
just going to press leave and we're
going to create an actual ad together
all right
so because because you don't have an
email list because you're not able to
upload your email list and just in case
you do I'll show you let me show you
real quick how to upload your email list
we're gonna go to audiences okay and you
can take a look at some of my audiences
I have plenty of them right these are
all look-alike audiences based off my
email list people who've purchased for
me people who have joined you know some
of my programs stuff like that so we
would create audience we would create a
custom alright customer file and then
we'd use a file that doesn't include LTV
and then we would drag our Excel
spreadsheet with our customer file all
the emails on our list and we drag it
into here okay we'd select directly from
customers drag our list into here name
that list and now Facebook is going to
take a look at your email list it's
gonna find those people and now you can
create a look-alike audience so Facebook
is basically gonna take those people and
it's gonna find people on Facebook that
look most like your customer okay so
couldn't get any better than that but
again if you don't have an email list
that's totally fine you know you can
just do what I did and create audiences
based off demographics and just test you
know five to ten different audiences
okay and then once you get people opting
into your email list
then you can go ahead and up
your email list back into the Facebook
Ads manager and create more audiences
okay so we're gonna create an ad
together alright and what we're gonna do
here is kind of define our marketing
objective okay so what do we want to do
like what is our marketing objective are
we doing brand awareness traffic
conversions well if you're just starting
out if this is your first time running
Facebook ads or you haven't had many
people buy from you then just run
traffic for now okay we're gonna use
traffic as an example all right I'm
gonna press Continue and what we're
gonna do is scroll down okay and we're
going to pull up that custom audience
that we made okay so we're gonna go here
and we're gonna pull up that custom
audience we're just gonna pretend you
know this one was our customer the you
know audience we created all right so
that's gonna show up in there you're
gonna pull that audience that you
created the first one you created and
then I would go ahead and leave this
alone okay leave the location and age
alone because we already created the
audience to twenty five to forty five so
it's going to target that audience so
you don't have to worry about any of
this it's even gender okay because we
this audience is primarily women right
so I wouldn't even worry about this
right here just skip over that now we
can go into edit placements so when
you're first running a Facebook ad I
would say that you start off with mobile
okay so unclick desktop right here start
off with mobile feeds all right so I
want you to unclick everything else and
the reason that is is because you're
gonna get the best cost per click with
mobile feed smoke mobile Facebook feeds
if you do desktop it's gonna be a little
bit more expensive if you do Instagram
might be a little bit more expensive so
I just want to have you have the most
success with this at first so Facebook
feeds alright and then we're gonna
scroll down all mobile devices that's
fine and then what I would also do is
press
this little button only when connected
to Wi-Fi and the reason that is is
because you know if someone is has bad
cell service you don't want them getting
your ad and then you know your face your
landing page doesn't load up so you can
click that as well now we're gonna go to
budget and schedule so you can go as low
as $3 a day but I highly recommend
starting app out at five to ten dollars
a day I'm just gonna put 10 and link
clicks will be fine okay so optimization
for ad delivery link clicks and then
also when you get charged you don't want
to get charging on an impression you
actually want to get charged on a link
click alright so you can switch that and
then press continue so as you see our
estimated daily results from spending
$10 a day targeting the current audience
we have is you know we could reach up to
597 people with about fourteen link
clicks which are potential customers
okay so we're gonna press continue and
then we can go ahead and you can tie
your Facebook page to the ad okay you
see mine right here Ryan Hildreth

alright and I highly recommend testing
one image and one video so you can
create a new campaign with a video if
you want which would probably be easiest
as far as organizational purposes when
you get more advanced you can create all
of them in one campaign and then you're
gonna upload your image okay so you can
pull it off your desktop I'm gonna
browse my library I think I have an
image in here right I have an image
right here I'll press Continue the image
is gonna show up and as you see like
this is the image right here so you
could put your website URL so this would
be you know Ryan Hildred com all right
that works call to action learn more is
perfect and then you can go ahead and
put text which is going to be up above
so if you want I would say this new diet
technique

and there we go as you see the text
shows up there and then the headline is
gonna be down here so I would put you

little scarcity in there if you want and
then right here is going to be the news
feed link description so secret

alright so now that is basically how to
set up a quick Facebook ad how to create
an audience okay and you should test
again multiple audiences five to ten
different audiences each at five to ten
dollars a day and if you're gonna spend
five dollars a day give it a good 24
hours before you start shutting the ads
off the ones that aren't working okay
and I showed I show that in the Facebook
ads accelerator I show you how to
develop baseline conversions and then
start shutting off ads after that but
obviously that's more advanced but this
is an easy way to get started with this
and give Facebook some data number one
give Facebook data because that's what a
lot of people don't do they don't build
the audience beforehand they build it
while they're creating the ad and that's
a big no-no you should be creating the
audience way beforehand before you even
start to open up your ads manager and
create the ad okay with the audience
insights tab that I showed you also know
what images you're using use one to two
images or I would recommend two images
five to ten ad sets and run them at five
to ten dollars a day and you should be
good if you have any more questions
