here with Jordan Kilgore mastermind
member and student of the affiliate
marketing course social media marketing
and I'm pretty sure Amazon seller as
well but he wanted to kind of go over
what he's been doing for affiliate
marketing and kind of share his tactics
because he's been getting you know
having a lot of success with affiliate
marketing so we're going to dive deep
into that all right Jordan so go ahead
and share what you've been doing with
your affiliate marketing business how
you've been getting those affiliate
sales and you know kind of share your
success okay yeah so within I've been
doing affiliate marketing or it's
probably been about I guess I got into
the affiliate marketing course about a
month ago I'm beginning of July and I'll
be able to make over $1200 with the
strategies in that course and it's been
really cool to see this success that I
had I never would have thought that I
would be at this point in my Philly
marketing success and I can definitely
create a lot of the things I've learned
to the course and that I've gone through
but I kind of wanted to outline some
things that I've learned through the
course and also through the experience
that I've had been able to make about
twelve hundred dollars and so I just
wanted to share those here on with with
our audience here today so really I
guess the strategy behind going into
setting up an affiliate marketing
campaign I was kind of thinking about
well I know a lot of people are doing
affiliate marketing I know there's a lot
of people having success you know
outside of you know just our audience
and it's been you know people have been
having success for years and years on
the internet with the Philips market yep
um and I was trying to think of well
what separates the people who make
nothing from the people who really make
you know thousands of dollars you know
six figures a year with affiliate
marketing mm-hmm so I came to the
conclusion that it's really about one
thinking about how am I going to share
enough value with my target audience in
my niche instead of us
myself how am I going to make affiliate
be sold to people want to know how they
can be helpful how their problems can be
solved so just having that mindset going
so I think that was a big part of my
success in my first month and I guess
the next thing that I thought of is you
know with creating a lot of values in my
audience I've got to think about how can
I help them and then also build a
valuable piece of content around an
affiliate product or a those kind of my
mindset behind it so I went ahead and
put together like 5,000 word blog post I
put together an hour-long video of
teaching someone how to do something and
I used affiliate links to show people
how to do it and I wasn't worried about
the affiliate sales because I generally
wanted to help people to be able to do
this certain thing that I was showing
people mm-hmm so the affiliate sales
just came you know because I showed I
shared so much value I mean I put hours
into this stuff but I knew that people
were going to enjoy that content and it
was going to help the target audience
that I was going for so um that was
really a mindset behind it I think that
as I continue to build out more
affiliate marketing campaigns I think
that's what I'm going to focus on nice
ah and then the last thing I wanted to
mention is kind of the way that I got my
content out there was a few with a few
different channels one being Facebook
Ads I'm one being Facebook group I used
some strategies with forum marketing
answering people's questions and also my
own website so that's kind of the
traffic sources that I utilized when I
was putting out my content to make you
know $1,200 nice yeah and it's to touch
on that to to those three points that
you made I think this is a something
that a lot of you know affiliate
marketing students and people just
utilizing affiliate marketing from the
free
content that has been on our channels
have been missing out on is yeah the
landscape of sales right everything has
changed because before you can you know
maybe throw out some links on the
internet and people would buy it because
they've never seen that product or
service before you know you know what I
mean when the when the internet
landscape was so new but now everyone
sees these you know affiliate links in
these ads and what differentiates your
affiliate business from others and
that's providing value that's the only
thing you could differentiate yourself
is providing more value so what in to
summarize kind of what Jordan what
Jordan has done is something that you
know not a lot of people are utilizing
in creating some sort of mini course
almost you're getting you're kind of
giving away a free mini course of you
know jam-packed value while including
affiliate links with some of the
services that you've used and I think
that's so powerful like if you can
create this is a secret strategy because
not a lot of people are utilizing it but
if you could create some sort of mini
course not just a PDF but actually like
a video file a course of you you know
building a website or you doing
something that not a lot of people know
how to do but they want to know how to
do and then provide your affiliate links
they're more likely to trust you and
click on your link and purchase whatever
it may be if it's hostgator or some sort
of service that utilize so I don't know
yeah it's crazy yeah I totally agree
with you I think that there's just
there's a whole slew of people online
that like yeah everyone wants to get
rich quick right like we all want to
make money you know that but I think
there's so much spam out there yeah
people are turned off by you know people
know people just know when they're
trying to be sold to you check another
yeah yeah and I think like what Ryan
said about being able to share a lot of
value and you
creating like a mini-course like yeah
it's a lot of work on your part but
you'll often find that when you do that
even though it may seem may seem
backwards right
you know because you may be thinking
yourself or but I could sell this you
know valuable content to someone yeah
well the reality is if you can put out
that value it will come back to you you
know it is really well if you can do it
the right way put out a piece of
valuable content whether it's video at
many costs however you you know you
package it yeah you're going to make
money from it you know if you can get it
to your right audience so um you know I
just want to back up what you said you
know thinking about providing a
contravening content that's going to
help your audience is the key yeah
that's it I mean it's yeah when you
think a lot of people are thinking
short-term they want to run an ad to an
affiliate link and get a sale like that
but they're not thinking about the
long-term game are you capturing the
email are you going to be continuously
providing value and then upselling
different affiliate links to this person
that's number one that's the number one
mistake are you collecting the emails if
not you need to be if and then number
two are you providing something of value
if you're in the fitness and nutrition
world are you providing a piece of
information an article or video teaching
them about how do you become more
fitness conscious or like how to you
know work towards a 6-pack or whatever
it may be you know you have to provide
that value first you can't just ask for
the sales in you know they don't even
know who you are so like in what will
does that make sense you know like you
sit back and look at it you're at like
the real world yes I want them up to you
and you know you were you were looking
for a car or something yeah someone asks
you buy this car like I want you to buy
this car yeah but most man I'm not
buying that yeah you know what I think
of is when you go travel either you know
to Thailand or Mexico or wherever and
those people on the street come up to
you was like these shitty like what
these trinkets and there's
like five dollars I'm like what no when
did I know I don't even want that you
know what it means
what if they showed me something cool
like how it works and like how it could
better my life in some way maybe I might
consider purchasing it you know what I
mean
so yeah sure so when you think about
like that yeah you kind of like society
kind of loss to you so if you like oh
yeah that sort of makes sense why you
wouldn't just you know try and put an
affiliate link somewhere where you know
people are just going to click your link
and buy you know you missed it you have
to build some trust you have to build a
reason why and you have to target the
right people yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah
I think this is there's so many
different possibilities like no matter
all of you guys that are watching right
now like yes understand that whatever
interests or passions or you know talent
you have yeah you make that into a
business you can start animus and that's
with affiliate marketing and that's
that's the view that's what I love about
this is that no matter you know whether
you're into soccer you're into health
fitness you're into woodworking
who freaking knows yeah you can put
something around those things and teach
other people how to do them and use
affiliate products that are related to
them or even you know create your own
products you know thinking bigger long
time so yeah you know the sky's the
limit
yeah there's there's a Chad one of the
students in the course he created he's
making affiliate sales from selling uh
how to become a better cyclist course
like you know like Lance Armstrong like
but you know Road live biking and I was
like wow that's a random neish but yeah
you could pretty much do than anything
so that's what's cool about affiliate
marketing if you like cooking like you
can you know affiliate market through
Amazon all those all the foods that you
use to make the certain dish like you
could go on Amazon fresh and affiliate
market all those products so it pretty
much anything
yeah yes I mean you know that's not
amazing you know you can put together
all of your favorite recipes right yep
and it's absolutely intriguing link them
to Amazon fresh if you have certain
tools you use
you can link them to Amazon yeah bright
like you can just build up a whole you
know website around recipes you know to
help other people yeah and you can even
you know go out and then create like a
video content if you want how to make
those recipes and use them on Facebook
do you know like this is so nice
yeah yeah you just got to get creative
you got to get creative these creativity
is a big ought of a suit yes yeah and if
you can't get creative outsource it

everyone what was your process you know
how much did you exactly make from your
affiliate campaign and kind of how you
did it you could you know show your
screen or whatever you want to do yeah
yeah okay yeah so um let me just show my
screen here with you and what I'm going
to show you guys is kind of exactly what
I was doing on now as you can see here
this is my affiliate dashboard and I was
using a an affiliate program by the name
of Hostgator and I've have a lot of
experience and background in learning
how to build websites and I've actually
had clients that built websites or so I
was like why not I'm going to utilize
the skills that I already have and
trying to share with people how to make
a website because I know that a lot of
people are looking to do that so here is
a screenshot of my affiliate dashboard
as you can see a good about six hundred
dollars and payouts and let me just go
to last month's I'll show you guys so
this last month I hit five hundred fifty
dollars with eleven actions and
Hostgator they have a cool program where
you actually get on bonuses when you hit
certain amount so right here is the
affiliate payout
I just such Pro Skater fully power this
is what they do so I get eleven so I
actually got a hundred dollars persona
which is insane Wow so I was able to
make eleven hundred dollars last month
simply from just one affiliate program
and that's just one above you know and
already in the last
you know a couple of days I've gotten
another sale
yeah that's great because I mean you I
mean you taught me from your videos
alone on YouTube you've taught me how to
you know build WordPress sites and stuff
and kind of like how to build a website
so that's great that you've been able to
take your skills and your knowledge and
teach people how to better their lives
in some sort of way whether it's you
know building a website to sell a
product that they've always wanted to
market or whatever it may be a service
and you showed them how to do it and
what website you know service to use say
that it's so you've been utilizing what
you utilize some Facebook Ads YouTube
would you know what else you created
yeah I've created I created my own
Facebook group and that's just that you
know general entrepreneurship as well
but yeah I'm just looking to you know
share that or you know create content in
that group I've been you know joining
other related Facebook groups people who
are looking to make websites if you
start a business online those types of
groups yeah and get all those
communities and you know obviously have
to be careful not to just be there to
promote stuff yeah that's get a little
bit more involved in these Facebook
groups as well as forums I've reached
out you know reddit other website forms
you know cora answering questions things
like that
I like I've tried to utilize and spread
myself out on the internet to get some
traffic to this video so that people can
learn how to build a website and then
you know obviously the plan is to use
the affiliate links that I have in my
description um so it's worked out really
well and you know one thing that I
really emphasize in the video was I
would directly tell people in the video
go and click the link right now and then
we'll move to the next step Ron that's
probably a bit of a secret for you guys
when you're building an affiliate
related product or piece of content tell
people what to do strong call-to-action
yeah that was a big part of this success
that I had in that video as well yeah
that's awesome so
what would you say to someone that is
getting into affiliate marketing maybe
they think because there's a common
misconception that they need a following
to make money through affiliate
marketing what would you say and then
all kind of touch up on that yeah yes I
think you know I think a lot of people
think that and what I realize is yeah I
I personally have a little bit of a
following but there are so many other
methods that you can use to get traffic
that you know building up a following or
having a following initially isn't a
prerequisite to making money online or
making money with affiliate market yeah
I think the long term game you want to
build over following so if you're just
starting out from scratch you can still
make money but you want to be building a
following as you start because that's
going to allow you to make more money
down the road yeah so I think that the
idea that you can make any money in your
first month with zero followers is the S
you can and there's different ways you
can utilize that some of which I
mentioned you know with or marketing
Facebook groups things like that yeah
and to touch on that I think it's
definitely not about building a
following it's about establishing
authority because look if you're always
that guy that person that's coming in to
Facebook groups or just providing some
value answering questions and you can I
mean you don't need to be an expert you
just need to you know read a little bit
on the topic maybe read some forums some
websites get some knowledge on the topic
so that you could answer questions and
when you do that people notice oh this
person always answers my questions who
are they and then you know you make a
video on whatever topic it is with your
affiliate links you know what I mean and
that person doesn't even have to be
following you they just know that oh
this is a guy who always provides the
good information I'm going to go watch
his video and click on his affiliate
link but I don't follow him on any
social media you know what I mean
so it's all about building Authority
having some you know knowledge in your
space and then promoting your affiliate
link yeah I think I think the real
objective in all this
is you want to build trust yeah right
you've got to build trust once you build
the trust people are going to go and
click on your link yeah it's just that's
just kind of what happens you know if
there's no trust built if there's not
enough built then people may turn away
and go somewhere else you know exactly
you know I think you get it run in the
head yeah awesome Jordan was good having
