How To Do Basic Yet Effective Facebook Retargeting That Works. (Good For Beginners)





alright guys welcome back to another
video I've been a bit a little bit slack
lately I've been working on a huge
funnel like I mentioned one other videos
we're currently at a roundup 3,500 and
head spin and we're making back a ton of
money from that all through mostly
through retargeting so that's why I'm
doing it but you know kind of you know I
was like oh or video on this type
of stuff and has been requested but for
the guys that did request this and I'll
talk about retiring soon or what this
I'm not going to get super in-depth
because it's really that custom can do
and stuff like that goes for I go to
Google but um my if I dive right into
the heart of the advanced stuff right
now I'm going to confuse a lot of people
to a lot of you people to my youtube
channel and everyone asked me about
retargeting their voice asked for the
basics and whether start so this is
going to be whether start with your
retargeting on Facebook now I make a
bunch of money for retargeting and if
you're not doing it you should be doing
it now okay and you'll understand the
stick I'm gonna show you one little just
started yesterday so I feel actually if
you if you knew my channel and stuff I'm
talking about repaving it on Facebook so
this is what happens when you have a
page whether it's a landing page with
your Shopify store your product here
your button here all the info here what
happens is you can code on your website
that's called a Facebook pixel and
Facebook will track things like um
views to your sites Add to Cart people
that add to the cart and purchases and
initiate checkout payment for all sorts
of stuff and then what happens is these
get put into custom audiences and you
can then advertise that to these people
and you get like advertising cost easily
cut in half most of the time and that's
why we do it and then there's like talk
about cold traffic bull traffic and
stuff that's and the second button jr.
my channel this is what Facebook
retargeting is in a nutshell and I
understand ology we don't really
understand it because I know a mr. to
saying how do I do it how do I start all
of that sort of stuff so but don't think
really a lot of you understand how I'm
retargeting works it's exactly the same
as Facebook advertising but you're just
advertising back to your custom
audiences to get cheaper efforts and
it's warmer traffic right if that makes
sense so um before we start
check this out I've got a photo here
I'll try and put it up on the screen I
started a retargeting advert on our
funnel yesterday I've spent $32 50 right
and I've made back for 3 1.06 so and
this is all profit because it's not a
Shopify store this is for a fitness fun
which I've talked about my last videos
so this is all profit apartment I'm
Alexa suffered this is a course so it's
been $32 to make that three hundred and
thirty one dollars when basically made
that four hundred dollars profit right
that's how powerful retargeting ads are
and we have so many of these going on
our fitness thing right now it's
incredible because we're getting a huge
amount of traffic and the girl I'm doing
the splash and the fitness blogging it's
over two thousand visits a day from
organic traffic
so we're retargeting back to them as
well and it's just crazy our own arrow
I'll right now return on investment it's
just crazy so that's what I've been
working on so far that's one beings I
have been too active on here because
there's a lot of work involved like you
know I'm kissing constantly every single
day I just add they're dead they're dead
what's we can best what we can not
working the list and stuff and you know
I'm getting video a lot fiber shout out

hat I'll talk about that
in a second we actually are a guide a
Facebook group poster so you can it
worked out very well for us so anyway um
we're going to talk about the basics of
retargeting Cadence's an advanced stuff
that you if you pass this stage just
videos in for you right we will talk
about the basics of retargeting and
whether well we don't look as bad stuff
on this funnel but we will talk about
the basic stuff we started with and what
we did and sorry
hookups and how we got to that point of
doing it by stuff so we have a page okay
and it can be whatever you want answer
most often stuff like that Oh crying
stay on a shuttle flight stuff but my
store my Shopify stores basically run
off organic and email marketing traffic
now which I do some Facebook advertising
but I haven't really done a lot of
advanced Facebook advertising with my
Shopify stores lately so I'm basically
baking this around our fitness funnel so
anyway let's just say you have a page
right think what my Facebook's doing is
it's tracking your actions and will
stick to view count respective views Add
to Cart and purchases for the sake of
this video alright so I think Facebook
is clicking views people that have
basically or view count but basically if
you little bit of the page right and
they're putting it into a little box
over here which is our custom audience
okay I've been here with our Add to Cart
now you would have to set up custom
conversions if you're on a Shopify store
because the pixel will take etiquettes
from the entire store so you have to add
it up and advocate our custom
conversions but I will talk about how I
used to do it on my trip or however much
of apply stores with um carousel ads
okay and then this goes in for a custom
audience here and then this we have
another one down here CA is going to
purchase okay so now these are assets
and obviously this one's going to build
up the fastest okay it's all going to
build up the second fastest and this
one's going to do that the slowest
because you actually have to wait for
purchases okay but these ones here are
your most valuable and we'll talk about
in a second this is your second most
valuable this is really a least valuable
because it's actually cold traffic apart
from the traffic that's and they're from
here if you don't separate it so this is
your most valuable here this is your
second most valuable this is a least
most valuable with our customer base
right so what we'll do
like I said somebody might be happy to
something guys understand this stuff
because I'm not like a my computer
actually showing you how to do it but
we'll we'll start with how to actually
create a custom audience all right so go
on to Facebook and go to google and
figure out how to create a custom
audience right it's just the thin that
you have a Shopify store that has a
couple of products okay you want to try
and like because I'm not talking about
custom conversions here so nothing it's
like separating products and stuff but
if you want to wanted to do that you
would do arm content ideas and all that
sort of stuff but that was coming into
the advanced stuff here so what you want
to do is you want to go into Facebook
and you want to create custom confuse
you might be a pixel initially other
than that then you want to create one
audience for your views okay you want to
do two number two you want to add to
cart number three your new purchase
alright and we'll talk about views first
so what's the views
normally what I will do okay that
particular page I will do two type of
retargeting adverts array number one and
number two so this video is for giving
or like the kind of stuff I do instead
of you know how to actually do it so for
the first retargeting I usually do
something like um so then take a group
so for the third round retailing at what
I'll do is I'll I'll advertise to people
who have used the website but I'll
exclude add to cars
okay I will exclude them I don't want
them in here and I'll say hey I noticed
you visited I notices this is my product
come back and have another look or what
I usually do okay I offered them a huge
discount on that 20 to 30% okay on that
product so make sure I can cover my cost
with deck I will offer them a big
discount to try and entice them back
into purchasing but I'll make sure that
I've excluded advocate
a different scenario for that okay so
that's what I do for the first one then
what I actually know as well but they
will do on other products related
related products okay so let's say you
know since the fishing gear ourselves on
I'll try and advertise some other
fishing gear so I'll start a new edgert
and what I'll do is I'll be like hey I
noticed you are interested in this value
unit purchase maybe you're interested in
this and also do the same thing sales
and stuff you just got it like Facebook
retiming and actually very easy it's the
angles that are going to make you the
sales it's the presentation of the
adverts it's basically you go to think
on um think of your traffic like what do
they want me know why did they leave
your site was it too expensive so you
offer them a discount right maybe offer
them free shipping we do free shipping
as well all the time you know what does
you know we kind of just remind them of
things so free shipping
you know um we're discounts we're trying
to type them back we basically give them
a decent opportunity that to get
something for cheap or for free because
I would Eli maybe get buy one get one
free all that sort of stuff because you
want to people love a good deal okay and
these guys are really cold these guys
are actually really cold okay because
they the Gaggia site they haven't really
done jet to be honest that there's
gone to your site so you have to try to
entice them back right with a few things
I wind up to that your imagination for
all you want to do Add to Cart
okay we do just strength Add to Cart
and I also um I usually dust through I
usually a few things here what your two
scenarios again now with advocate you
usually have to do a custom conversion
so if you're if you're new and you're
under the basics I would go carry soul
add all right with different related
products okay right one tell us all that
custom conversions here so you have one
product to product three prod
act now be pretty closely related and I
would remind them remind them and make
sure you have actual like or look like I
only do this
to the fact that I'm actually
advertising all right obviously I don't
worry about I don't put any other
products from my thought only ones I'm
focusing hardcore advertising like I'm
past a distance H here I usually can
only have two or three products anyway
that I'm heavily advertising at this
point um I'm going to remind them that
the cars all right that's basically
number one just remind in here with any
product here you've got to check out you
have any questions once again try
different angles okay because one angles
going to stick and you're going to start
to see the sales rolling okay and I'll
show you an example soon and then number
two once again we simply entice north of
sale all right same thing is up here but
it's basically a different angle again
like you know how I'm going to select
your product in the car page we have
we're happy to give you a discount come
finish that sale or you know we're going
to offer you free shipping today only
make sure you have those calls to action
today only big letters okay scarcity you
have to offer that scarcity because
these guys here right now in the car
that the cap is like a warm it's easier
to convert these guys and you're going
to get cheaper and conversion costs but
you still have to try and sell but it's
actually a lot easier to some of these
guys and others to these guys right does
that make sense so um this is warm okay
very warm stuff um and once again remind
them the never product and if you're new
to Facebook advertising your users are
fixed when you do the SD card your new
blend sort of stuff and is confusing to
you don't understand it there is their
custom conversion Devon where that stuff
get just do a carousel ad with your
product that you'll have to type in your
main products and you should have had
mini at that point because you should be
past editions days and you should have
one two three winners forwarders or
whatever
okay it's best just to do it straight a
straight arm storewide advocate and do a
carousel that's the best 50s we've had
where we were starting to fight and
blend the basics right let's just
basically do that well I can see you can
get into custom conversions and stuff
but it very advanced and that's why I'm
not we're going to teach it because it's
a whole new video all right so we have
I'm going to get to the real quick good
stuff for the second this is the good
stuff we have the cold traffic offer
them a sale offer them free shipping
offer them other products because they
might not be interested in that
particular product but they might be
interested in other products right as
the cart this is now warm traffic you
want to remind them of their products in
the cart page and you also want to start
to open sales and then offer them
scarcity okay pretty cool
we usually what the reminders sometimes
we're doing it like and we'll say we
have a timer
we'll say hey there's any of your
products almond cart in the next eight
minutes for the next seven minutes we
only give them a little bit of time to
get their credit cards out if you say
hey you'll put your your folks in the
cart link for hours it's not scarcity
enough we really want to give them just
enough time to get the credit card out
and come and purchase that product the
right now
this is my favorite right purchases guys
purchases purchases are sexy because
this is it's going to take you a long
time to build up a purchase Texel
approaches our custom audience but
purchase and awesome or put a big p.m.
alright this is our purchase audience
these are people that have purchased
from our store
alright and the best thing about that is
we can do so much the first good thing
of those hot traffic they have Turkish
enough default we know they have money
we know they're ready to spend we know
and this isin focus I've ever get in the
store no problem but the key thing the
one thing I actually see a lot of people
are doing is they'll retarget back with
loked low margin items
okay imagine our items with low profit
margins that's the wrong way to go about
it when you have hot traffic what you
want to be doing is not selling them
apart when you make $5 profit or $10
profit okay you're going to make profit
you're going to make money but you're
missing on so much potential you're
missing out on you know that picture I
showed you
we're selling that at like a couple
hundred bucks right one of the things
it's a funnel one hour one fifty one
dollars and ones a couple hundred but
what you want to be doing is you want to
be selling products related products
these people and margins of like 25 30
40 50 I did you tell load my hundred K
product list I'll leave that below if
you want to get it my own Hema class and
then I've sold $400 margin okay and a
lot of it was the summary targeting but
um we made $100 profit per product
there's a little Shopify store and we
didn't have to sell a lot of price to
make a lot of money that's the thing if
you have a small purchase audience and
usually going to burn out quite fast but
if you're selling high ticket products
you're going to make that higher profits
okay you're going to get a higher profit
and you're going to sell this gives you
less work and it's actually easy to do
because right they are hot traffic you
get it go and get it and so it's sort of
easy to understand and that's where a
lot of people come misunderstand things
is that you don't have to sell from the
same product back to your purchases that
you don't have silos of it stuff take
advantage of selling high ticket stuff
back to these people because they
guarantee you they're going to buy if
you do is going to come back to these
things they ship Franklin you're right
right you they are even purchase and and
that's really all there is to it that's
why I love that's so much um you know
without feathers funnel right we have
two we have three six in the funnel on
Facebook we have the
so we have the one-click upsell then we
have the am product in the back end what
happens is with our one for example we
have the we have the with sit with
separated out and custom audiences we
have the people that approaches out for
$27 right we say we have a hundred
people that have done that we advertise
back to them with our $200 products do
they buy oh yeah they buy they pay all
the time because they've already
invested twenty seven dollars into us
and our price is super valuable tactful
value they love it so they're going to
win soon as we say hey we're going to
product here forearm from 200 bucks
they're usually and they're super quick
and purchasing from us guys so now how
it works you've got to you've got to
kind of like explain it in an easier
term it kind of got a segment your
traffic in two temperatures
we're okay so your views are usually
going to be cold you're advocates are
usually going to be warm now goes on
this same usually because different
niches it's completely different
situations and then your purchases are
usually hot okay and you have to have
different angles to these specific
segments of traffic it's going to be
harder to sell to call traffic you know
that's a bit a bit of angle a stronger
angle as from a sales point let's call
the sales closing point and you know you
can go on up work now and pay people to
write some crazy Facebook adverts if you
want stories do very well now all sorts
of stuff warm traffic and as you know a
better you do this out do still not
entirely easy but it's easier than hog
traffic and it purchases hot traffic is
my favorite because it's easier itself
and you can usually sell higher ticket
products so for example if you have a
fishing store okay all right I'll do it
I'm just going to like I'm trying not to
get too advanced here they say you hit a
fishing store and you've sold someone a
peck of lures
okay and not a team take a Lewis team
pack
they say they purchase a few for $29.99
s list let's say they say you've done
well with the ludes and 200 people go
into your list okay now it's probably
going to have a few people in there from
other purchases I can store the other
person conversions now they say you find
a outdoor jacket on an Express or a net
like a hunting type fishing jacket kind
of thing okay what you can do is you can
add this say you get on an ex-fix for 20
bucks okay you can go ahead and you can
go ahead and you can sell it for 39 no
you pay 20 bucks 20 30 40 50 get so we
do I'm $39.99
I've so 49.99 49.99 it's a $30 profit I
think yes okay let's say um you sell arm
to for this say you sell six of those at
the hundred twenty have 100 turns are
fifty hundred eighty dollars they've
just made off a retargeting air right on
Reynolds profit right from five sales or
so and you've probably only spent a few
bucks I would say then you probably
spend more than 20 bucks probably even
probably then listen enough you can see
that I can you see that yeah you can so
they're kind of like an example it's
kind of understand but um as you as you
have people that have already purchased
from your site so the example the hands
and general fishing jacket
example reprised you could sell you can
then you can sell it there hunting
jacket 400 bucks you can sell it for
more that's a I have injected that item
that you can charge a premium for okay
so I hope that that kind of makes sense
now so those kind of hell retargeting
works on a lot of my stuff honestly I
will just keep it basic don't get too
involved in advanced targeting just yet
but there's a few other things you can
do you can have a video and you can
target people who watch a percentage of
your video okay and you can also do
people who land on your page and they
scroll down a percentage of your page or
sale for a specific time and all sort of
stuff right but this is like really sort
of advanced stuff again and it's also
other stuff I go to my camera cut out
again this camera sucks so anyway yeah
so you can look like you knew so much
advanced stuff by opening more videos
than that basically all we need to worry
about when you start is done it's doing
like you comes to your site Add to Cart
and purchases and then you can even
right here I go again you can either you
can even retire it back to those people
and those retargeting things you can
build separate lists so you can do so
much stuff but it's really gonna dig
into custom conversions met anyway and a
lot of people like you know how do you
get our videos for retargeting how did
you get a ninja search videos I do
myself but we have the guy called Warren
from affiliate marketing ninjas group my
blue link below
he suggested a fire and I used to use
Fiverr but the way he I'm suggested it
was very interesting and what I'm going
to play a video at the end of this video
showing what I just got I'm delivered to
me today I'm going to blow up the logo
though but what I am what I did is I
went on fire and ice' down
someone to to advance and they've
spotted a Deadpool suit and hold our
logo of the set mistake now I'm going to
show that Fitness stuff is because
people does copycat us but um the thing
is there's just a guy dancing with the
brand but that gets people's attention
and that video cost me five eleven bucks
I think it was eleven dollars so it's
just a video of someone balancing with a
sign right and it's about 30 seconds
long in organized Dylan say hey you lift
come back in your listing and the cards
will come back or here the sale would
just make sure you have your brand there
at all it's all about branding when it
comes to retargeting because that when
people see your brand like sometimes we
do retargeting um our pictures will just
branding like we don't even have we have
to product in there and we make the
brand stand out more than the product
because people remember brands more than
they remember products some of the times
and it'll trigger the thing and I let
hey okay cool and I'll go introduce a
product so if you don't know how to do
retargeting adverts it's the exact same
thing but all you're doing is just
getting you know pictures of your
product gunfire I get someone to make
videos and stuff like that but all
you're doing is you're just creating an
advert okay fresh adverts nope there's
no like crazy thing going on here this
again is a custom conversions but all
you're doing is creating fresh adverts
okay alright and you're targeting your
custom audiences which will be your
views your add two cups this is the
basic there's a lot more and purchases
okay that's all the reason is no like
the retargeting function or anything
like that
there's retyping action some like I I
would stay away from retiring it
personally I usually have a general
Facebook store but the thing is while
ago all of these on Facebook retargeting
apps had a pixel code had a coding them
themselves now stealing
traffic it's one thing and then another
thing a lot of them cause confliction
and it's just people selling them and
making money from them they don't
actually do anything great unless you
have a general store of course you can
separate different pixels but I would
advise you to try and do all of your
pixel work manually we'll start to
understand it better
don't bring any confusing applications
also that stuff or all of that stuff
just try and do all your men all your
retargeting manually without any
confusing pixel X unless you have a
general store you sometimes will have to
use a pixel app at least you know having
really good and custom conversions all
right but just you know I'm not bagging
on the X I just feel that you'll get
more out of it you'll teach yourself
more if you use the pixel properly and
you have more control okay um and stuff
like that or I going to close this one
up here I am actually going to dinner
and the ticket and so yeah brick Edgar
there's nothing complicated about
retargeting just build up your audiences
and start retargeting Dec to them I
might do a video on retarget structure
inside of a computer one day kind of
show you some retailing when doing and
you know maybe it will be easier I think
but you know then a whiteboard but this
is just basic retargeting okay just all
it is once again and I repeat myself a
lot better so you understand it's a
fresh advert okay super fresh
there's no no no triple system just just
an advert that just a normal campaign
and you can and and you just advertise
to your custom audiences alright that's
it and one thing about retargeting don't
worry about customization to our
optimization too much like you know you
have to have the twenty-five fifty to
twenty five-plus conversions that we
write the tops Facebook's and talks
about a lot of the time you're not going
to have a big enough audience to get
there anyway so don't worry about that
too much with your retargeting campaigns
okay because a lot of times you're not
gonna have a huge ulis
anyway it's going to do it out pretty
quickly you're going to get a high
frequency it's pretty quickly so you're
not even going to get to that point
anyway you know with retarget you go to
the ball now getting more into some
stuff but you've ever been the ball
quite a bit because if you have a small
audience and you know that product stops
selling with your stores come slows down
a little bit the audience will start
growing a little bit until you get more
traffic so sometimes you get really high
frequencies quite quickly just depends
how much budget you're doing and stuff
but you're very rarely going to get the
fifteen to twenty five-plus conversions
to a week on a purchase or educate
retarget at least you have huge
audiences and you're constantly getting
large amounts of traffic inside those
two a day okay if you count you can
easily grab the big audience no problem
but just remember that when you're doing
SD card purchases and stuff like that by
the way a lot of the times they'd gift
about use on these I actually just do so
a lot of the times kind of like I do so
much stuff it's hard to explain when I
do a retargeting advert a lot of the
times I won't even do ads cutter purpose
as the website conversion as the young
as the objective sometimes I do link
clicks sometimes all the time because
you can actually get a lot of link
clicks or I would just do do it you know
or I've just doing a view count on a
view count objective inside website
conversion or a soil optimized for our
view count so I can try and get the 15
point by but it's not our necessary
a'right you know sometimes I let Clips
because you get ton of link click to
stuff a lot of my following clips and
then those people will transition to add
two cups and purchases or whatever
you're doing but it just depends all
right I just remember don't worry about
the 15 25 plus 25 plus now conversions
for Facebook optimization on your target
because you probably not going to get it
all right edge to edge huge audiences so
that this video goes I'm going to go out
any questions blows if you notice is the
crazy advanced stuff but I want to go
through the basics first for for a
second it in depth because there's a lot
of basic stuff
understand even how retargeting works or
feel for you anything else where your
chance coming it confuse the right so
that's it and now I'm going to play the

video from Fiverr and this is just
holding our brain can we be using it for
retargeting campaign I feel Knicks on
