Johnny I just wanted to bring him on and
you know kind of give his background of
how he got had success in affiliate
marketing you've made how much have you
made so far with affiliate marketing hey
Ryan everybody and in total I think from
affiliate marketing I've made about six
thousand service six thousand dollars
okay Bri am very happy yeah I'd agree
remember that's what that's sort of
nothing knowing at well I didn't even
how little on you yeah it's crazy
because the course only came out as was
we released it at the end of June
beginning of July so it hasn't been that
long and people have been seeing some
success with it because it's really once
you get it down it's it's not that hard
to systematize it and just start getting
sales so no I think you're right like
the big thing for me is that why this is
a reason like take courses I've never
took a course before cuz I'm just an
Austrian are saying they said it woman
you guys released it and I never
realized the value that you could get in
a course before taking a course like us
I don't know how you feel about this but
like the course is one thing the
knowledge like in in structure is really
helpful because there's so many things I
would have never even thought about
doing that I've now done you know also
like the community side of things having
access to yourself and Tanner and like
other people again I've so many
opportunities to learn famously on in
the course you know animate element
that's the trick sticks I'm along every
now and again they're just like gold one
yeah and that's why we have those
Facebook groups too because I mean I've
learned stuff from some of our students
you know what I mean so it's good to
network and have those that private
Facebook group just to you know push
everyone and kind of keep each other
accountable and keep going but let's
jump into like some of the strategies
that you have utilized to make money
affiliate
because I think that's what everyone
wants to hear about everyone wants like
what's the secret strategy what did you
do Johnny you know start over let's kind
of share those yeah okay cool so to give
you
everyone everyone a brief idea I started
off with free traffic and to be honest I
would kind of advise other people to do
the same thing the reason being is like
unless you have done a lot of research a
lot of research beforehand or my
facebook advertising and stuff like that
I wouldn't jump in and start spending
money on this stuff straight away I
would learn like your niche and learn
what your demographic responds to before
you actually start spending money on
doing it and so I started with my
youtube and get a bit of Facebook pin on
Instagram and after I've kind of
realized because this is my demographic
this isn't the age range and these are
the types of thing that these people
like then I started doing paid
advertising and this wasn't so long ago
this is only so you remember the course
released it was really one a tune six
weeks ago so got that yeah yeah so since
then that's when I started doing I think
a week after I started doing my first
paid adverts to give it a go and I don't
think I would have done it otherwise but
I started for YouTube I think if you
have a particular niche then YouTube is
going to be the way to go that's what I
did and that you know just putting the
link in the description I sometimes
people buy stuff you don't know who they
are you don't know anything about them
they never get in touch review and
that's when like affiliate marketing is
just literally the best thing ever
because it feels like free money yeah
okay like it just feels like free money
yeah you do a YouTube video when you do
a blog post or you do a Instagram like
story or whatever it is that you do and
then like five days later something
happens yeah that's why it's passive
income in a sense but of course you have
to put working up front yeah and my my
secrets are a strategy which is
definitely not secret is give as much
value upfront you can for free by edges
as much as possible you know getting on
your messages all the time being really
active in facebook groups in your niche
and adding people and walks out and you
know changing them on Instagram stuff
like that and then eventually if that
person doesn't want to buy something and
sometimes like I have a lot of people
asked me for affiliate links we I want
to help you out have you got an
affiliate link for whatever I'm like no
but let me just go get one yeah
affiliate link yeah and and even and
even this has played a part in to my my
Amazon journey as well so I was getting
a freight forwarders like Oh someone
that organizes your shipment from start
to finish
yeah and he was like yes sent some
people my way and we can work out some
sort of deal I'm like affiliate
marketing yeah it's not just online that
you could do it everywhere you can do it
resin it's just always have have it in
your mind of thinking you know is this
you know is the service I use is the
product I use do I like it enough to be
able to promote it can I talk about it
well enough to be able to answer
questions and like really going depth
and is there an affiliate course for it
or you know sorry affiliate program for
it and most of the time you'll find
there is and and if not you can do like
a comparison between two different
products and one of them might have an
affiliate program yeah they never
definitely definitely let's talk about
Instagram advertising because I know you
and one other person in the affiliate
marketing course has utilized Instagram
story advertising which is really
cutting edge you get a really good cost
per click super low because not a lot of
people are utilizing it so kind of tell
us about what you started how you
started doing it and how you've evolved
and kind of change that around yes good
question and yeah definitely yeah the
story adverts
they're just converting crazy crazy low
prices so I started well I got some
really cool to like footage when I was
in London one day and and then I saw
your Instagram story yeah and I was like
damn like what you're doing bit yes mr.
Graham how am I going to do this yeah
like you say like copy people that you
know doing doing so
well just copy it so I'll just help with
you yeah I know you use Edwards and I
didn't want to honestly pay so video
editing because I've had a bit of
knowledge myself so I thought right I'm
gonna learn how to make an Instagram
story advert me then some time trying to
bill it get it right had to figure out
my cotton use like iMovie nor had to
upgrade to Final Cut Pro yeah cool new
features so I just tried to make the
advert at first like 15 seconds and and
then just put it on on Instagram I
didn't have any idea what the response
would be the first one I did to my
youtube channel
mmm-hmm just like test it and to find
out how it works what kind of cost per
click I can get all costs per swipe and
that turned out really good because
track kind of yeah scribers I buy that
so you don't really know how it works
then the second one I did was for
affiliates like affiliate offer mm-hm I
wasn't capturing emails
so I created a landing page and he was
converting about I think seven or eight
tenths so about ten cents a swipe that
was going to a landing page and then the
user can then be taken to the affiliate
offer which some of them would but again
I didn't take email addresses so I
didn't know if they were if they weren't
and then basically that money is then
wasted if nothing happens yeah and then
the most recent one I'm running which I
only started yesterday is definitely the
most successful one I did the video a
little bit different put like a audio
over the top and then a nice people
remember and prolong with the text and
that's first of all converting really
well I'm getting two pence so about
three cents a swipe on that and then
it's going to a landing page my life
where I collect email addresses right
and then it's going to be a Philly offer
yeah but it still be doing that I've
worked out how to do Instagram adverts
which is by far the best way of getting
your content out because just like to
pizza click is it's just it's just
nothing
I know no adverse manager yeah 284
conversions to help click I've only
spent
five pounds 79 since yesterday you know
how much of that in US dollars and so
that's going to be about seven between I
think between seven and eight dollars in
total and um it says the 284 conversions
that's crazy yeah so you've gotten what
how many how many emails from that
emails I have got let me have a quick
look I think is about 25 or 30 emails 25
or 30 that's huge I mean something most
of the time I'm paying like up to a
dollar two dollars per email but like I
was talking earlier with you it's crazy
when you're first starting out with
affiliate marketing and you're
collecting emails like utilize those
emails as personal contacts you can
email that person get in touch with them
maybe set up a phone call or something
to talk about the affiliate offer that
you're promoting right and maybe maybe
they need help in some sort of way you
can talk with them schedule call and get
them to purchase whatever you're trying
to sell and like start off that way you
know what I mean if you're having
trouble doing this then at least collect
some emails and contacts some people you
know I don't notice well definitely
you're nuts I think like I know you
speak about this in the course but I
think it took me to like go through my
own like processes that make sense of
learning one thing kind of figuring that
out moving out the next thing we're on
okay figure that out got emails figure
that out now it's kind of email
marketing marketing okay how do I do
that effectively and that's my next kind
of hurdle to go over that way and I
think this is this is where affiliate
marketing gets really you know passive
in that sense yeah it is when you start
collecting emails building an email list
and then keep like market to them pretty
much like anything in that niche in the
future cuz I know what these guys like
yeah you know I know what they like so I
know that I can market to them
effectively exact and like that can be
products that can be you know services
it can be programs it can be whatever
and we can even be music like you never
know but I could do it get affiliated
with iTunes I tried like four times to
get an affiliate with with apple and
I keep Fanning each time so I'm gonna
keep working on it yeah it'll go through
it'll go through but it's like to touch
up on what you said that so email
marketing is so crazy too because let's
say okay you you're going to promote
your music right or every every day
you're going to send out an email to
your list kind of talking about a song
or an artist that really inspires you
and obviously promote their music
through your iTunes affiliate link okay
now what you're going to do is save
those emails so let's say you sent out
30 days of emails right but now you can
go and you know market your whatever you
like your newsletter or whatever and
every person that joins your email list
is now going to get run through those 30
days of you know emails that you already
sent out so now you don't have to do any
work it's just set on autopilot so
forever every new subscriber to your
email list they're going to go through
that 30 days so it's all about the front
work you do that and then you sit back
and you automate it because now I don't
have to send out not one email it's
already on autopilot on MailChimp you
know what I mean right well this is the
thing that I probably like to begin is
the people that think about getting to
send a marketing so most people watching
yeah like me in my position if you wish
to go or even a few months ago
I would look at something like that and
go that's that's too much okay
but I honestly like how could I do that
that they asked that see like only
people really know they're doing can do
derp yeah but it's only taken literally
a few weeks to be able to get to that
point where I'm now doing them so it
doesn't it doesn't take long it just
takes a bit of research and I take
things like taking courses by the I
could have learned the stuff in the
course but I have a I don't know if
you've ever had be saying for anyone you
knows leave comments if you've ever
heard this right and unconscious people
being unconsciously ignorant which means
you don't know what you don't know how
how can you figure it out how can you
answer my questions or search the right
things in like YouTube or Google because
you have no idea what you're talking
about exactly at say iconic
the hurdles are a lot a lot smaller when
you actually start jumping over the
globe make sense yeah no definitely
definitely okay and we'll touch up on
this last subject because I've noticed
you're you're doing a lot more Instagram
advertising you're you're promoting that
platform you're trying to grow that
platform how are you utilizing that
platform for affiliate marketing or do
you plan to like other than just your mo
advertising and for others just as in
normal in my Instagram page yeah um I
haven't really thought about it a lot of
people reach out to me anyway because on
YouTube cuz I say kind of reach out to
me on Instagram it's a nice I like
eating Instagram I don't know you might
be able to answer this but the more
people with DM you does that help out
you use the Instagram algorithm on your
yeah what happened yeah it does doing
you can it shows it sexy one for
Instagram yeah it shows Instagram that
those people are communicating with you
so it's more likely to promote your
Instagram stories in your in your
pictures to that person because you've
communicated before so that's why I'm
doubling down on Instagram and I'll kind
of tell you know you and the audience
about a new feature that I just
discovered and maybe you already heard
about it Johnny but they're going to be
doing live streams to where you can
partner up with people like me and you
could do a live stream on Instagram haha
together like I can connect to your
account and it'll show like you know
Ryan and Johnny are live together yeah
so that that's a whole nother world and
like how does that apply to affiliate
marketing well it's just boosting your
engagement on Instagram boosting your
following so that more people know who
you are what you're doing so they're
more likely to message you and now that
Instagram you know allowed clickable
links you could send a clickable link
through a DM like stuff that's affiliate
marketing right there someone needs help
like where do I go for email automation
you send them your affiliate MailChimp
link boom that's an affiliate sale you
know what I mean so I've been doing a
little bit
using actual stories that'll be it's
kind of like Google Hangouts in that so
you can have like yeah but fifty people
talking but and by one thing I do is I
like post my affiliate sales so if
affiliate sales comes through my
whatever platform whatever day I
realized it has come for it cuz you
don't normally emails from all platforms
yeah do a little like picture a little
screenshot and then send out and I send
out the people tagged a place by this is
a really good tip for anyone watching
right now or if you're doing an
Instagram story always tag a place and
at least a hashtag because it's going to
mean you're you're searchable by more
people if you start getting on the
stories for your location your your
stories can just blow up in terms of use
yeah loads of people who actually have
enjoyed their people or Instagram reach
out to me from stories I've done and
I've posted a like an affiliate whatever
and they said oh my god how do you do
that yeah right
there's a Philly of course that you
could take yeah you know hold on and
yeah and it just it just spots interest
and it gets you on YouTube and stuff
like that so and those are all things
that that I would again I would have
never have done if I hadn't had really
put my mind to it you know I said I'm
going to do the Philly at marketing as
you know as one of my sources of income
more seriously exactly hey-ya instagrams
amazing I'm kind of really seeing the
value of it alongside you chip I think
YouTube is my favorite by far yeah you
do the best one way by then Instagram I
think it's definitely second I am
leveraged Facebook fan rush tourism yeah
yeah Facebook's kind of I don't know
we'll see when a our augmented reality
comes out and that whole platform
changes but what would you say to
someone who's I guess kind of doesn't
know where to start
whether it's entrepreneurship or
affiliate marketing or just in general
like how do I make extra money online
using my computer and just being at home
like what would you say to those people
I guess where should they start like I
don't know good question if I think back
to myself yeah I had the same dilemma
but like I was doing my job I'm always
being entrepreneurial with selling
things I think trying to make money or
less or stuff and none of it really
played and you know played out properly
so I'm like right now and the big thing
is you have to be looking for it y-you
have to be looking for opportunities so
for example I was looking for
opportunities for months and eventually
stumbled across while all your guys
Channel and the thought is is it oh yeah
an opportunity I'm going to take it like
yeah I'll cost some money and that
initial like like 400 pounds $500 I
spent on my tennis course that was a big
decision to me yeah I really want my
pick and I know for many people you know
you're feeling exactly the same but now
I realized that the more you the more
you spend on knowledge you'll get it
back ten times okay the things that are
involved I think I've got a book
actually that I would probably like to
share one second right so for people
that that are kind of thinking or watch
ideas to make money or how can I do it
this is a really good book it's called
the business idea Factory
okay and you know I got a confer you say
the guy's name so you can see that Andre
said Mia and then time is in my name
entry it's really small but it goes
through a theory of like how to think
about opportunity and how to think about
em like how you can make money in a
hundred different ways so what the
starting out I think that's really
important so one of the tasks in here is
think about how you can make a hundred
dollars or a hundred pounds with a
hundred ways to do it yeah the thing is
though like like 90 of them would be
really bad ideas why they'll be really
awful and then five of them might be I
all right and then five and might be
good see takes five good ones when you
choose one and then you make a hundred
dollars yeah what the point is if you
didn't go through that process of
thinking about it then you would have
probably never made that hundred dollars
you've got oh you've got to keep your
mind active looking for opportunity and
then the opportunity will come to you
you decide like that's so true right
give people but the other bit of advice
right is you have to just do it you
can't lie there's so much knowledge you
can learn so many so much the videos you
can watch before you've consumed as much
information as you can
you can't do it on how to you know you
have to learn from your own wisdom and
by experience rather than from someone
else doing it or from reading a book
Chloe should have to do it yeah get it
right that wrong doesn't really matter
the point is you have to have experience
