so I want to start a series here where I
take a question from the YouTube
comments maybe from facebook messenger
maybe from email and I answer them right
here for you on video so today's
question somebody asked me Josh what is
the best starting point when it comes to
affiliate marketing what can I do right
return on investment financially and
emotionally that was a great question my
answer to that is is number one get a
mentor and number two do everything they
say now this is easier said than done
and I want to illustrate this with a
story the importance of mentorship I was
writing a review on a recent product
that had just launched this morning and
as I was doing the review as I was doing
research I actually knew about this
product for quite some time because a
lot of my facebook friends and
colleagues were actually promoting this
business opportunity now from a
consumers perspective it looks as if you
know you could just promote it offline
you don't have to do online marketing
and deal with autoresponders and funnels
and all the technical jargon you could
just simply send this cells letter this
physical sales letter out to people and
you'll pretty much have money flowing in
your bank account actually cash coming
to your doorstep
within the first couple of weeks and
this just gives people false
expectations so to add to that a lot of
these leaders these so-called leaders
they were jumping on video and they were
showing people how much money they were
making as a result of marketing this
business opportunity online but telling
people that they could have success with
it offline so if you are reading between
the lines and knowing that these guys
were making money through online
promotions
you probably question whether this
offline marketing actually works right
so most people would end up spending
thousands of dollars to get in and they
wouldn't be doing what you know the
leader was doing right if you want them
to know the quickest path to success is
to do what the leaders are doing
not what they're saying right for me for
example don't always listen to what I
say do what I do so if I'm telling you
to market through you know offline
methods in direct mail but yet I'm
marketing to you online then you need to
read between the lines and know that I'm
making money by marketing online so as a
new marketer it's often hard to get this
fat so if I'm shooting a video like this
and I'm talking about the vision of this
new you know product that's launching
I'm showing you all the cool things
about it and that you can promote
through Facebook or you can promote
offline but yet I've got a link in my
description that you can click and join
me that's where I'm making most of my
money or else I wouldn't be doing it
for the most part any marketer that you
find on the Internet whether it be a
blog whether it be through Facebook
that's probably where they're embarking
the most not always but most likely so
if you don't have a mentor a mentor
can't help you overcome a lot of these
roadblocks I know a lot of you right now
you're confused you're overwhelmed and I
know because I'm paying attention you're
not just subscribed to my channel on
affiliate marketing and making money
online you're subscribed to many other
so called gurus Channel as well and
that's okay I'm not telling you that you
should pick me as a mentor you should go
with the business model that you
resonate with and you should go with a
mentor that you resonate with and do
everything that they say to the tee do
your research make sure that what
they're doing and what they're saying
actually aligns it if it doesn't it's a
red flag also look at the support that
they offer look at the different bonus
training that they might offer to you
what's happening right now is a lot of
people are recruiting people into deals
into programs that are completely
outdated and so when you go through the
program you start to try and implement
some of these strategies they don't work
so it's it's a hard to navigate this
online marketing world when you don't
know what you don't know so it's huge to
find the right mentor that actually
cares about you that cares about your
success their success you know your
success is an extension of their success
do they offer some type of weekly
coaching can you contact them through
Facebook if you need them most
most gurus won't even message you back
and if I don't message you back it's
either because you're a time waster or
your message ended up in my other folder
but you'll notice I answer pretty much
all of my messages over on Facebook
right so guys I hope you got value from

the importance of mentoring you don't
know what you don't know every single
internet marketing expert is going to
say one thing is better than the other
thing of course I'm gonna say that video
marketing is the best thing since sliced
bread because that's what I do that's
what I know and you have to understand
that so take everything with a grain of
salt and then based off of your
information make an educated decision
invest in yourself invest in the right
mentor and you won't have to deal with
the shiny object syndrome anymore you
won't be jumping around confused trying
to take the shortcut just be willing to
invest in yourself financially
emotionally you're gonna see success I
can promise you that so with that said I
