hey what is up this is Tyler Pratt so
YouTube is a great place to start if you
wanted to start creating some income for
yourself online it's one of the best
places to go right now and what I'm
gonna do in this video is I'm going to
go over ten ideas like channel ideas
that you can use in order to start
generating income and I'm going to go
through examples and I'm gonna go
through my ideas on how to monetize each
channel as I go through them and we're
gonna jump right into that right now

okay so make him one in YouTube it's
there's a lot of different ways you can
make money on YouTube okay and so I'm
gonna go through each of these channels
with them and let you get some ideas on
what you want to maybe if you haven't if
you don't have a channel yet on what to
maybe use as a channel idea and then how
can you really monetize these channels
so there's a couple different ways to
make money with YouTube right you got
obviously the YouTube ads okay once you
get to a certain point with the thousand
subscribers four thousand views you can
write run ads you can do a Philly up
marketing where you can have people
clicking on your links and go into an
affiliate marketing offer buy that offer
and you get a percentage on that you can
do you know you can do sponsored videos
if you wanted to where you talk about
different products and people send you
the products or maybe they pay you to
have the products you know you could do
merchandise on your channel I'm just
thinking on top of my head because you
know for me I like ads like I like
affiliate marketing I like merchandise a
lot of those good things I mean there's
really a lot of creative ways that you
can create income for yourself really
the big thing with YouTube is just
creating the audience once you get that
audience you can do whatever you want
with it
so let's jump right in this it's gonna
be ten ideas that I think maybe you
could pick one of these and maybe have
one with them and can really have some
great success on YouTube okay so the
first one is gonna be gaming it's been
around for a long time gaming is is an
idea that you can start with that you
know channels to all you're doing is
just creating videos around your gaming
platform that you're playing on you can
take screenshots of your games and you
can talk about it now what I've found
that that
if you wanted to start a gaming channel
that just doing a straight gaming
channel might not be as you know I guess
there's a lot of competition for the
gaming industry right now in the gaming
channel field but if you came in with a
different twist and you had a different
idea where maybe you were taking games
and you were cutting them up and you
were making funny stuff out of them and
you were really may be making bloopers
or things like that that would be kind
of separating yourself out from a lot of
the other ones that are just playing
straight games but the ways to monetize
it you can use ads on gaming you can you
can obviously do affiliate marketing
with different products if you can find
things around gaming you can do
merchandise which is you could sell
sweatshirts and t-shirts using teespring
and other print-on-demand products okay
so the thing with gaming though is just
building up that audience once you build
up that audience then you can do a lot
of different things I mean you look at
gaming lemon here they have three
million nine hundred thousand
subscribers I mean that's tons of people
so when you when he puts out a game he
gets tons and tons of people that watch
the game and there's lots of things he
could do with that you know with that
game I'm sure that there's game
companies that are coming to him and
saying hey you know promote our new game
or whatever they got going on and
they're paying them to do that another
big one is going to be IGN they do a lot
of you know gaming they've been doing it
for a long time what I have seen that a
lot of the new kind of channels are
coming up is they're taking clips from
other people's videos there that are up
on the that are allowed to do that
taking clips and they're just kind of
mash them together making compilations
of fun games maybe different ideas and
different games okay so if you mash
those up and you create a gaming channel
I think you'll have great success so
next one's going to be reviews reviews
are really good because reviews are
users taking products and reviewing the
products on your channel so a couple of
good examples of this is going to be
marques Brownlee he reviews a lot of
tech stuff you know like phones and
cameras and and and anything with tech
and he'll talk about it he's built up a
pretty big channel 8.1 million he's
I'll be crushing it with ads I'm sure
I'm sure the companies are coming to his
channel and they were just running ads
on there so he's really doing well with
ads I'm my guess is that a lot of tech
companies are paying him to promote
their products so you think about it if
a brand new phones coming out from
iPhone iPhone ly pay him to review their
new iPhone and then you know they would
he would get a big chunk of that money
that came in from that so that's an idea
for that when you're doing reviews is
you would get paid from tech companies
another gonna be another good one
example is going to be unbox therapy
he's been around a long time he's got 13
million subscribers huge amounts of
subscribers now all of these channels
they they all started with zero they all
started with nobody and they built it up
it just built up their subscriber base
with just fresh content new ideas new
things about the content what I
recommend is when you do these channels
is that you stick with the theme of the
the channel like I just showed you a
gaming channel stick with that theme
unbox therapy always stick with that
theme you never want to start mixing
things up like you've never want to
start doing reviews and then take your
channel and go to start doing gaming it
just won't YouTube won't promote your
channel as if it was strictly if YouTube
knows exactly what it is your channel is
about okay so you definitely want to
keep your theme on these channels if you
were doing reviews and you decide you
know what I want to start do gaming
start a whole new channel and then start
from scratch with ace just a gaming
channel all right the next one is going
to be interview style
okay so interview other people and you
just do it on your channel a great
example of this it's gonna be Joe Rogan
okay he is probably the master at doing
this he has a podcast and all he does is
he just interviews people on his podcast
and then from his pup from that he
videos it and he puts it up onto his
channel and then what they'll do is
they'll splice it up a little bit maybe
take a little different parts out of
that but Joe Joe Rogan is going to be a
good example of interviewing people so
you just you could start a podcast and
then just film your podcast as you're
interviewing people and create video
content
for your channel another example of
interviewing is obviously he's gonna be
the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon he
interviews celebrities and things like
that on his channel they take that
footage and they put it up onto their
YouTube channel you would probably do
more of eight you know something like
Joe Rogan does obviously with tonight
channel they have a big network so you
would just interview people and you can
do this in any industry you can do it in
like tech industry you can interview
people you can interview whoever you
want I mean Joe Rogan interviews pretty
much everybody what I recommend is you
just you just interview everybody don't
have a specific channel where it's just
about you interview and like tech people
because what'll happen is you kind of
run out of people I would just interview
everybody and get everybody's idea on
whatever idea that you want but that
would be the format that you would be on
your channel would be to you know would
be to interview people to monetize the
channel like this you would you could do
merchandise for your channel you can do
ads obviously is gonna run on your under
your videos you could do some affiliate
marketing to that so if you're doing a
tech product you could have a link in
your description goes to an affiliate
product somebody buys that and they
would makes you would make the money
from that all of these channels just
building up the audience you build up
your audience big and as your audience
grows you have more options to take
people from your channel off to other
areas like affiliate marketing and
merchandise
okay the next one's gonna be how to's so
how to like do certain things if you
like if you're a handyman you can show
people how to garden in your garden if
you're a gardener you can show people
how to grow tomatoes if you're a
carpenter you show people how to put
build a house or whatever you're doing
so there's lots of different things you
can do with how to's a good example this
is going to be e how ok so e how is
about hunt about 700,000 subscribers so
a lot of these products I mean if you if
you did it if you showed how to do
certain things you could have a link to
that product let's say you did a lot of
how-tos on specific products you could
go find a product in Amazon and you can
put that link in your description so if
you taught somebody how to let's say
like right here is is a let's say a
shower you know a shower I don't know
whatever the shallots let's say you're
putting in a shower filter okay because
I have a shower filter of mine so I put
a shower filter then you could put a
link in the description to the Amazon
actual shower filter so when you get
done teaching somebody how to do it put
a link in there from there to Amazon and
let somebody buy it and you would get a
percentage of that so another example
would be ie how pets so you can talk
about how to whatever do things with
pets like how to walk your pet how to
train your pet how to feed your pet and
then underneath the links you could have
them go to a pet store that sells the
products like if you're talking about
how to feed your pet certain foods have
a link to that that you know that actual
products or somebody could buy it okay
so that that would be an affiliate
marketing just referring people to that
product and have them buy it
so another one's gonna be news this is
big because obviously there's always
news going on there's always content
that you could talk about on your
channel a good example would be
something like The Daily wire okay so
this is going to be a lot of different
topics and and mostly is going to be Ben
Shapiro just talking about the news in
general but there's a lot of the news
sites it's really easy because you can
just go to like things like Fox News or
NBC and you can actually do videos of
you looking at the new sites and you can
be talking about the new sites now how
you gonna monetize this probably from
ads running ads on this if you get big
if your channel gets really big like
this one's like 1.4 million subscribers
you could have some daily wire
sweatshirts or t-shirts or mugs that you
sell on your channel you can send them
to tea spraying or to Amazon merch
whatever you have to sell for print on
demand okay so the next one is going to
be v logging so V logging is just
virtual logins just talking about
yourself which is it's taking a film
around your day and just you just V log
your you know what you're doing during
the day one of the biggest examples
gonna be Casey nice that he's got 11
million subscribers if you haven't been
to his channel all he does is just takes
his camera with him around New York City
during the day and he just cuts and
edits a video pretty much every day on
his channel so he looks like I mean he's
getting 1.5 million views from a video
that he did that he put on yesterday
okay so that's huge now the way to
monetize this obviously the ads are
gonna be good on this he's gonna do a
lot of tech reviews in the product so he
has a lot of product reviews that he's
doing if he he'll do let's say he does a
review on the say the Apple or Samsung
phones he probably is going to get paid
from Samsung or Apple to do that if not
he's gonna have an affiliate link in the
description that's gonna send somebody
to a way to buy the iPhone or buy the
Samsung phone if he does reviews on tech
reviews on cameras is it gonna send
somebody to an Amazon store so he'll
like he'll do a V logging all day and
then it in a description he'll say this
is the camera
used actually v-log for me or v-log my
video and then that link will go to a to
Amazon the affiliate offer and he'll get
paid to do that
another one that I literally like and
the V logging is flying the nest this is
a couple from I believe they're my
Australia and they do great travel
videos where they just film themselves
all over the world and they've really
their channel is really kind of blown up
with this now they're probably getting
paid well by travel companies now and
their ads on their channels probably
doing really well too okay so that's
another way to monetize this they're
building up their subscriber base they
probably have some merchandise that they
could sell to their fans on their
YouTube channel
so the next one's gonna be music now
this one is this one you really have to
be careful with this okay so if you're
creating music for yourself that's fine
that's totally how you should do this
when I'm when you think of music you
never want to jump into where you're
taking content or taking music from
somebody else and use it as somehow
because you'll get copyright strikes on
your channel and you won't be able to
monetize it so here's a good example
here this is just a DJ so if you're a DJ
you can spin some music and you can film
yourself and you can have some great
music going on and you would build up a
channel with that best way to do this is
probably adds probably aren't going to
be as big with channel like this but
merchandise is gonna be huge with this
so people your fans are gonna want to
buy t-shirts from you they're gonna want
to buy sweatshirts all that good stuff
you can do that through teespring
you can do that through merch by Amazon
so another big one that I just recently
started to reduce I just saw her live in
concert at the clickfunnels event
Lindsey Stirling she built up her whole
channel just on YouTube and she built up
her whole career just on YouTube itself
she's a violinist and she dances and
she's pretty amazing but she she just
does videos of her you know does YouTube
videos now of her but which first got
started she was just doing videos of her
doing the violin and dance and things
like that she creates her own content
creates her own music so that's how you
would do a music type channel on YouTube
again with Lindsey she's booking big
concerts so she's making ton of money
from that she's crushing it with with
merchandise I know she's killing it with
t-shirts and mugs and all that and she's
probably doing well probably with ads
because maybe there's gonna be some
music companies that want to put ads
over her channels okay so there's lots
of different ways that she's doing that
merchandise with music it's going to be
the big way to really cash in on that
channel
so the next one's gonna be compilation
this is kind of border you'd mash a lot
of things together and you create this
kind of like top 10 list top 5 list
things like that so good at get a good
example this is gonna be top 5 this is a
really good site they have 3 million
subscribers and all they're doing is
just they're just doing like top like 5
ways that the world would change here's
the 5 biggest flash floods caught on
camera 5 scariest things found and then
in the sewers right so they're just
taking videos probably from YouTube and
they're just mash them together and take
and putting up these top fives we're
doing a compilation of it now they're
crushing it with ads I know they're
probably crushing it with big ads
because people probably companies are
putting you know ads over their
merchandise maybe unmarked you know they
could sell t-shirts and things like that
really the ads are going to be the big
way to generate some income from these
channels another good one that is going
to be big is gonna be Evan Carmichael he
does a lot of top 10 rules of
celebrities and you know positive people
that positive thinkers and things like
that so he puts together these top 10
rules of all these people and he's
crushing it he's gonna crush it with ads
right people are gonna really jump on
there and want to put ads on his channel
he's gonna do well with merchandise he's
probably got an affiliate program that
he could sell he's got a book I think he
sells on that too so there's a lot of
different ways to do that again all of
these channels you can see he has 1.5
million or 0.8 million subscribers it's
all these channels it's just building up
the audience and as the audience grows
and Crohn's grows there's different ways
that you can start monetizing your
videos let me start monetizing your
channel but you never want to go into
these channels thinking well I need to
monetize my channel right away you
always want to build up your audience
first and then you can start monetizing
the channel
all right so next one's gonna be comedy
if you if you're funny and you do a lot
of funny things comedies always gonna
work okay there's gonna be lots of
different things you can do with comedy
this is a funny one here bad lip reading
they just really go through and look at
videos that are out there and they just
talk about the the I don't know lip
reading or there's just they're just
talking about different videos out there
it's pretty funny to watch
they have 7.3 million subscribers
they're gonna probably crush it with at
with merchandise on this channel
okay so ads I'm not sure ads are gonna
be really big on this merchandise is
gonna be really really big on a website
like this on a comedy site some
merchandise gonna be t-shirts sweatshirt
all that stuff that's going to be
related to this channel another one's
gonna be WatchMojo another funny you
know they just create all kinds of funny
videos that you know that you watch them
they're you're entertained by them and
usually you watch the whole thing they
might do good on ads on this merchandise
is definitely going to be doing well
with this 20 million subscribers I mean
they could put a sweatshirt t-shirt
together and people would you know they
would sell out in no time because
there's so many subscribers that they
have that they can you know they can
push any type of product they want to
them
and the last one's gonna be Fitness
Vince's huge is big and Fitness is gonna
be one of the biggest channels that
you're gonna put together that you can
really crush it with money okay so
there's a couple different ways for this
like Jillian Michaels now when I came to
Jillian Michaels I'm surprised she had
like 40,000 subscribers but she's huge
in the fitness industry now there's when
you creates videos on your channel with
a fitness there's all kinds of ways you
can make money with this you're gonna
make crusher with ads you can sell
supplements with this you can sell
workout programs you can sell high-end
coaching programs with this you can sell
merchandise with this when you create a
YouTube channel that's all about fitness
there's so many possibilities for you to
make some money it's just unbelievable
the what you can do so you have this and
then we look at something like this
PopSugar fitness all they're doing is
just creating these fitness videos here
now you think about all these videos
you're they could sell all kinds of
stuff they could sell yoga stuff yoga
mats yoga equipment they could sell
Fitness you know t-shirts and pants and
shoes and all kinds of stuff in the
fitness industry you could sell
supplements you could sell you know the
ads are gonna crush on their Fitness
ones really are going to make big money
for you okay so there you go that's ten
ideas to create a youtube channel pick
one of those go with them see what works
