$100,000 in 12 Hours on Kickstarter? — SwitchPod Launch Day Vlog

- Nine o'clock.
- [Pat] Oh my gosh.
- Okay, prepare to launch.
Ready to launch, drum roll.
Launch now.
Congratulations, you're live.
- Yay!
Oh my gosh!
(girl laughing)
Oh no, this is crazy.
You guys are amazing.
- Hey guys, we went live on Kickstarter like...
- 19 minutes ago, and we already reached 10,000.
- We have a lot of things going on.
I have a video to publish.
I'm going to publish it right now actually
and I don't know if you can see on my phone,
but we're getting comments and notifications
like they're coming in constantly.
Another sale just now as we were talking.
This is incredible.
- With the trajectory of this so far
being 20 minutes in and 10% of the way there,
I think it's gonna go well.
So thank you all and ....
- (howls) Yeah, this is fun.
(upbeat electronic music)
- Okay, so we pressed launch.
We did that, we redirected Switchpod.co
I've not double checked the share button.
Gotta do that.
More to do.
Pippa, Livin' the dream. Livin' the dream.
(chuckle)
So we're almost four hours into the campaign
about three and a half hours, we're at $38,753
which is crazy.
- 441 backers which is just awesome.
- And we're gonna take a lunch break,
we've been staring at computers and social media all morning
but it's a big day, more to come.
- With this, it's a lot easier
to just slip it in a briefcase,
put it alongside my backpack.
(upbeat music)
- Should we put this on the page?
- Totally!
I would put it much higher.
- Okay.
- If they want specifications they can go down.
- Got another video from Dave Altizer and Kinotika,
take a look.
- Welcome everoybody, it's Dave Altizer here with Levi Allen
and Caleb Wojcik, here to talk about
the first tripod designed for vlogging.
- We're in the comments now.
(upbeat music)
(singing)
- Dude, Congrats!
I'm so excited for you guys.
This is pretty wild.
- [Caleb] It's pretty crazy.
Thanks for the help today.
- Do you have an Apple watch?
Could you see your heart rate going up and down?
- [Caleb] No, I haven't checked that.
I should check my heart rate for sure.
- It's live.
- [Caleb] What's live?
- A video from Peter McKinnon.
- Peter? - Peter McKinnon.
- Come over here and watch it.
- What's up everybody, Peter McKinnon here.
Welcome back to yet another two minute Tuesday.
Think this could be the replacement to the Gorillapod.
They do the Kickstarter length below.
I put the length there...
- This is surreal.
That we worked on this thing for so long
and then got to show it to 'em.
- It's unbelievable
- Yeah.
- Wanna set the camera down,
all you gotta do...
(laughing)
- He's better than we are.
He's only had it a week.
We've had it six months.
Thank you, Peter, for giving an honest--
- Thank you Peter.
- Review with not just the things you like about it,
but the things that we can improve upon for next time
and for your support as well.
So thank you all for the support on day one
of the Kickstarter campaign for Switchpod.
- 59 more days and a lot more comments and thank yous
that we have to send still.
- We have a lot of messages to reply to.
- Thank you so much for the support.
- All right, let's keep going.
(upbeat music)
- I don't even know what to say.
It's been a whirlwind of a day.
Just tryin' to think of more rhymes,
but it wasn't gonna one.
I'm just super delirious right now.
We've been tryin' to respond to all the comments,
and I don't even know what time it is right now,
but incredible, thank you all for the support.
As somebody who's been an entrepreneur for 10 years,
especially in the digital space.
I'm used to things happening a little bit more quickly
in terms of the build and the sharing and the pre-sales
and stuff, I can create an online course
and have it up in a snap,
and this process has taken 15 months.
But to have worked so hard on this with Caleb,
and then have a response like this on day one,
it's so worth it, and I knew it was gonna do somewhat well,
I didn't think it would go this well.
But it honestly reminds me of my architecture days
putting a ton of hard work into something
not knowing really what's gonna happen,
having a lot of changes along the way.
Having to make sacrifices on certain things
because of budgeting and materials and design,
it's literally the same thing,
and then now instead of having a building
that people can walk through, or live in,
we have a product that people can hold and use,
and people are getting really excited.
I'm getting really excited, I'm also really tired.
Thank you, day two tomorrow.
We'll see what happens.
Pat Flynn signing off.
Team Flynn thank you for the support.
Team Flynn for the win.
