which is a little tough to pronounce

with the N C and K altogether hopefully

everyone can see me okay it looks like

we got a handful of folks on I'm not

sure how big of a crowd we're gonna have

gonna go over techniques to help

conversions increase revenue and that

sort of thing for Amazon affiliate sites

specifically that's where most of the

examples are from today however the idea

should transfer over to other like

affiliate type programs in you know

really almost any kind of copywriting so

we will focus on names on affiliate

sites and hopefully everyone everyone

can hear me I don't have a great way to

test that so in the chat just let me

let's get to it so we're gonna do Amazon

affiliate stuff today we're going to

talk about improving the conversions

frame as an affiliate sighs so I'm not

just going to do the like just a list of

things I'm going to show you examples I

think for each of the 17 different

conversion improvement techniques that

you could use even if you're doing

really well in conversions I think

you'll probably still learn something

today in the presentation so let's get

to it and she took no it's the Hoff

their own company the hot so okay I'm

going to use the slick new interface on

to basically boost your income for

Amazon affiliate sites again I'm Doug

a full-time job in the house today so

a full-time job or if you're doing like

internet marketing full-time that can

count as a full-time job but obviously a

little bit different than a corporate

job that a lot of people have it

something like refresh your feed and a

lot of times that'll take care of the

even though actually while I'm doing the

presentation I don't think I could see

so Who am I

Doug Huntington like I said I'm the

founder of niche site project that is my

my dog and I although he's died in the

last year sadly but this was from a

couple years ago at the Beartooth passes

near Yellowstone National Park that

place where we're at is like 12,000 feet

which is like 9,000 9,000 meters or so

something like that

I'm doing my rack math right this is

pretty high up in the mountains and it's

awesome there's only a couple hours from

where I live and so my past track record

which is basically why you should listen

to me at all I have done and create era

created several niche types in the past

some kind of big ones some interesting

ones I've learned a lot over the last

like four years or so in internet

marketing I've coached a lot of other

people including you know probably

people that you have heard of on like

YouTube channels and Facebook groups

like I've coached folks like that that

are doing really well right now I've

done a lot of guest blogging just in

internet marketing in general and I'm a

PMP project management professional I've

also been featured in a few different

places oh but before we go to that do

you have a profitable niche site and

have you created a site before I'm gonna

hop over to the chat since I asked a

question here

so Ronan says he has a full-time job

Jeff is working full-time online what's

up Jeff and then Gollum is doing

internet marketing full-time but

struggling to make passive income online

yeah I think so while it's actually the

passive part of passive income going

it's a lot of work it's not very passive

in the beginning but yeah let me know if

you have a profitable site right now if

you created a site before just let me

know kind of where you're at these

questions help me shape the presentation

so I can focus on certain parts over

others and cat says you have you have a

profitable site but it's not full-time

income yet Bobby is the same as Gollum

where you're doing I am full-time but

struggling to make it passive totally

understand that

yeah next I have been featured again why

should you listen to me I've been

featured on a number of places or

mentioned and most recently on social

triggers by Derek Halpern and a bunch of

other places you probably heard of you

probably should recognize the logos and

the names and stuff okay so here is one

of the other big things is basically my

timeline so you can see some ups and

downs and by the way is this clear for

everyone I'm using a different interface

they normally using all the in-house

webinarjam stuff so just let me know

this this graphic it's clear for you or

if it's blurry or anything like that

okay and huronian mentions that he is

full-time has a full-time job offline

but your part-time on Amazon doing like

five to seven hundred a month it's

awesome

really good and ok cool thanks for

I'm mispronouncing your name

and then we have a cat and everyone says

this is a little blurry yeah it looks a

little blurry to me too so I have no

clue I guess it's better to not use the

interface but you never know until you

try

I don't think it'll be a huge impact but

I can switch over pretty quick so I may

actually do that just to make it as

clear as possible

this graphic doesn't matter as much but

basically I've had some ups and downs

I've had some good successes in the

Amazon affiliate program and I've had

several sites penalized in the past due

to using private blog networks I'll tell

you that private blog networks can work

really well it's a lot riskier than not

using private blog networks but I know a

lot of people that are doing really well

with PP ends and they have been for

years so I dunno you can't do it but for

me it's not my thing I can't handle the

risk and you know it's not it's actually

not any faster than doing whitehat it's

just different so I've had some ups and

downs and most recently I sold a site

for 235 and that was back in June this

year so ok I mean I'm going to see

because I actually know that there are a

few slides that have graphics because

I'm showing examples of certain things

so I'm going to pull the other like

version of the presentation that I have

so give me one second and it should be

able to do that really quickly through

this one ok

tactics to improve conversion so the

number one thing and the number one like

issue that people have like even if

you're just making like 10 or 15 bucks a

month this could change the way that

your business is running and you know

make it from you know part-time income

to a full-time income so you need to get

the right kind of traffic with buyers

keywords and by the way there are 17 of

these things and we're gonna go through

so it's gonna move fast okay we don't

have much time to go through it and I'm

gonna leave time for questions at the

end so get the right kind of traffic

with buyers keywords and basically that

means people that are going to buy in

the near future like in the next 24

hours so you have to find keywords that

those sort of people are searching for

so here are great ones like product name

and then the review the

best and then the product name what kind

of product name should I get of course

I'll give you some examples to make it

super clear some kitchen bosses so here

are examples for kitchen faucets my

favorite here would be best kitchen

faucet so that's a great way to do it

and again you're kind of intercepting

traffic on the way to Amazon that's how

you should think of it you don't want to

get like random people that don't really

want to buy a product it's not helpful

number two you need to target

long-tailed low competition traffic and

how should you do that with the keyword

golden ratio you're unfamiliar with that

you should look it up on YouTube channel

I've done like whole training sessions

just on the keyword golden ratio I will

tell you what it is but we can't go into

too much depth right here because we're

doing 17 of these so the kgr is

basically a way to find keywords that

other people aren't targeting and this

is what the formula is the number of all

entitle results divided by local monthly

searches where the LMS local monthly

searches is less than 250 okay so that

is the ratio and you're looking for a

ratio of less than 0.25 so to find the

all in title all you have to do is use

that dance Google search character

command they're all in title and then

type in the search phrase with no quotes

don't use quotes next number 3 is to use

international Amazon Associates Program

so there's about seven of them there

could be like one to two more at this

time but there's about seven of them

where it's pretty easy to you know

create an account there are a few others

I think up to seven others where it's

more difficult like you have to have a

bank account and that come true like I

know the Indian version and I can't

remember the others there are a couple

others where you have to create

a bank account you have to have an

address in that country so it's more

difficult for me I just focus on the

English speaking traffic so the UK US

Canada so it's pretty easy to check your

traffic stats and figure out like hey

where should i is it even worth it right

so for one of my sites like 99 percent

of the traffic is from the US and it

doesn't even make sense for me to bother

with anything else

you know there's minimum thresholds for

payout period or for the payout amounts

so really if you don't get much traffic

don't worry about it the other thing is

your conversion rate it's probably going

to be like a tad lower but in this case

right the UK and Canada there is you

know approximately 13 percent of the

traffic is coming from that area and

when we look at the amount of traffic

here 27 percent that is roughly like 48

percent so if you added the UK Canada

potentially you could be adding like 48

percent like additional revenue so of

course it's not going to convert quite

as well so maybe it's only 35 or 40

percent but obviously that is a

significant amount and you should

probably go after it but you do have to

take a look at your own traffic and make

a call whether it's worthwhile enough

for the UK and Canada you can use the

tool from Amazon called one link and

number four call to action above the

fold so a lot of people don't do this

and I don't know why but when we look at

the basically the best in the business

for affiliate marketing like the wire

cutter you can see that there is an

early call to action here in the

first paragraph which is what I

recommend you should get this calls to

action out there early because it gives

people a chance that are in a hurry to

go ahead check out the item so this is

the best action camera and by the way

they use you know the best action camera

that's a buyer's keyword in the title

and then they use it again in the first

paragraph so just a little side note

they're doing some great on-page SEO so

early call to action don't be afraid to

put it in the first few sentences and

next should test different types of

calls to action so for example this is

again same post over there on the wire

cutter they have an image that's an

affiliate link they have a button that's

an affiliate link to and they have this

text here

that's an affiliate link also so no

matter what kind of user it is you're

they're gonna have like a mechanism to

get over to Amazon whatever they happen

to be clicking on you know buttons can

really draw certain people in other

people hover over images and then

they'll notice that that is a leg

they'll click on that to see what

happens and of course the classic text

link you know that's kind of what I like

I'll talk about it later but the classic

text link I mean that is a color that we

know that's a link on this page if

you're on a mobile device you may not

know that this image here is an

affiliate link you may not know it's a

link at all but we do know that text I'm

at color for this site is a link number

six use text links throughout the

contact so like I said this is kind of

my favorite converts really well for me

just a solid call to action or in this

case the wire cutter just lists the

product name and other product names and

those are affiliate links within the

text and just about every time they

mention a product they make it a link

not always you can see here o4 mentioned

right here

where I'm holding the cursor you know

that's an old device you're not going to

link to that but in general they're

talking about the devices that they're

reviewing on that review they will use

affiliate links there's usually about

one link per page there's always like if

you're scrolling down there's normally

some way for you to click over to Amazon

with an affiliate link and a view and

for me like I said I primarily use

affiliate link I don't really use

buttons I just don't do it so number

seven use comparison tables by the way I

usually just build my comparison tables

from scratch using an HTML generator

it's fast I don't have to have a plug-in

I hate plugins don't like having to work

with the horrible interfaces for tables

like table plugins for a while you

stable press and other things but just a

pain in the butt and you're only

building the table like one time so to

take five or six minutes to build the

table it's not much like I could afford

that and for me an HTML generator is

faster to use and it's easier to format

than any of the solutions I've seen out

there okay so you can put a lot of

different stuff in tables people often

ask me what should I put in the table we

don't have to make it up yourself right

go over to Amazon check out the products

that you're reviewing and see what they

include turns out Amazon does a whole

lot of testing they know the products

really well and they know what the users

like so you can go see what they have so

again we're sticking with action cameras

and you don't have to include all this

data that's a lot of data

you shouldn't copy the table exactly

either but it'll give you an idea on the

kind of information that people deem

important and then you can get some

ideas to start from so again you don't

want to copy

exactly you wouldn't want to take this

graphic here and paste it on your site

that's you know you're running into

copyright issues you didn't create it

and you know you can't really do that it

would violate the Terms of Service

Amazon wouldn't like it much but if you

use it as inspiration hey that's great

and if you say take the information you

have here and then get further

information from the manufacturer site

well you can create a table that adds

more value than the one here on Amazon

or maybe you consolidate information

from different manufacturers where you

know you're putting together content

that no one else has no one else on the

Internet has done I've done that before

it works well it really helps a lot

because if you're putting together

unique content that's value I mean

that's exactly what Google once okay by

the way I see Shanta now Morgan asked a
