or authority websites are really passive

talk about whether or not an Amazon
affiliate site like a niche site or an
authority site as some people call them
whether or not that's actually passive
or not so I could tell you a couple of
quick examples and maybe one of the
reasons why people consider these type
of websites and businesses passive
income is because of an example I'm
gonna tell you right now so I worked on
a site I documented it pretty well it's
called project a white hat and basically
it was a site pretty simple Amazon
affiliate niche site and I sold it with
a partner of mine for two hundred and
thirty-five thousand dollars a lot of
money basically for the majority of the
time that he and I worked on it we
probably were only putting in one to two
hours per week even during the you know
the busiest times however the first
portion of the life of this site the
first few months well there was a lot
more work done there was a lot of
keyword research done there was a lot of
work done on content he and I didn't
write the content but other people wrote
it and then we published it so you can
imagine you know just the fact that we
had to hire people we had to do that
sort of administration to in the HR
tasks of hiring a team that is the sort
of stuff that you have to do and you'll
notice in this series that I'm doing on
passive income no matter what it is if
you're looking at real estate if you're
looking at websites if you're looking at
you know other sorts of business
is that you can setup they require one
of two things upfront either time or
capital or a lot of times both so if
you're looking at an Amazon affiliate
niche site it's gonna take you probably
you know four to six months to you know
set up the site start making about a
hundred dollars a month or so you know
there's a lot of variables involved but
that amount of time can get you to about
a hundred dollars per month on average
for people that end up being successful
with this sort of business model now if
you're looking at say vacation rental
properties well you're gonna have to put
in time and money the thing is for
vacation rental properties just as other
example of passive income for that area
of real estate you're gonna have to you
know find the property which will take a
lot of time most likely and then you're
gonna have to buy it so even if you
don't have to you know put all the money
upfront which most people would be
getting them loan to finance a real
estate investment at that point you are
you know you're in debt and you can make
the cash flow work if you know equation
works right but more or less at that
point you're investing time and money so
any sort of passive income it's gonna
take time for you to build up to that
level or it'll take a pretty good amount
of capital whether it's time or money
