getting traffic to your affiliate

marketing website now I know I've talked

about this a few times before in

previous videos but it's something that

comes up a lot in the comments on my

videos and on the live streams so

thought I need to go through it again

and give you guys some ideas on how you

can get some traffic to your affiliate

marketing website so let's go

traffic to your affiliate marketing

website it's a subject that comes up a

lot and for obvious reasons you know

you've built a fillip marketing website

maybe following one of my tutorials of

which there are many go check out the

channel if you've not seen them yet

you've got your shiny new website online

but no one is visiting you so therefore

you're not getting any Commission and

this generally not going too well

so got free things I'm gonna take you

through today and but before I start

with those I just want to clarify in

your mind because this is going to

really help you when it comes to

creating content and just building sites

in general on a clarify the reason why

affiliate marketing websites exist and

their purpose in the world now something

that I hear all the time is what is the

point of an Amazon affiliate site why

would anyone go to an Amazon affiliate

website and click for and make a

purchase that way they just go straight

to Amazon surely you know what's the

point of them well they've got a very

important point and that is they help

people buy now big sites like Amazon

they're great you know they've got tons

of products on them but if you're a

buyer and you're not quite sure what

products you are after you know you've

got an idea you've got a problem you

know that you need something it's quite

difficult to go to Amazon and just kind

of browse around and make a decision and

decide which product is gonna be best

for you I mean yeah you could go through

each product one by one reading pages

and pages of reviews try and get an idea

that way but you know that takes all the

time and a lot of effort and

something that a lot of people haven't

got they want stuff quick and they want

it now

so as an affiliate you can provide a

valuable service where you actually help

people make a purchasing decision so the

way an affiliate site helps people make

a purchase is through the content that

you publish for example a buyer's guide

is one example of how you can help

people make a purchase for example how

to choose the best camera for your

YouTube channel I got that idea because

I'm looking at a camera you know

something like that way you take people

through various products and you weigh

up the pros and cons based on their

circumstances and you help people make a

decision when it comes to choosing a

product another way could be through

product reviews when you're taking our

products and do some in-depth reviews on

them or it could just be amalgamated

different reviews from around the web so

people can get a summary and the gist of

a product really quickly and really

simply it could be comparing different

products you know in a video or in

tables so it's very easy for people to

assess the different features and

functionality of different products

one way that I help people make a

purchase is through how-to tutorials so

people are looking to do something

particular tasks or achieve something

you provide a how-to or a tutorial

showing them how to do whatever they're

trying to do what they're trying to do

and within that how-to there may be

products involved so for example I show

people how to make websites and then all

to make a website you need to get

website hosting and domain names and

that kind of stuff so the products fit

quite nicely into my tutorials so just

wanted to clarify that because once

that's clear in your mind it gives you a

better understanding of the purpose of

your affiliate marketing website and how

it fits in in the great scheme of the

internet and how people make purchases

and yeah just be aware that you're there

to help people make a purchasing

decision you're there to help people buy

so let's crack on with this video I've

got three things that I'm going to talk

about today free ways and free things

you need to be aware of when it comes to

getting traffic those three things are

first one it's SEO visibility the second

is building links and the third is

social media so number one search engine

visibility this is really the process

of going through each page and post on

your site and making sure it's optimized

for the search engines and that

basically just means that it's laid out

in the right way you've got the keywords

in the title in the headings using

enough words within your content for it

to be you know interesting to the search

engines its labeling up your images so

rather than just having image one dot

jpg it's called you know cat in a basket

jpg or whatever the pictures about make

it more descriptive and again make it

easier for the search engines to

understand what the page is about now

this is only one aspect of SEO making

sure that your site is ready and

friendly the other side is all around

building links and increasing your

reputation online which I'm going to get

to in a moment but SEO visibility or

search engine visibility is very

important and if you're using WordPress

you can use the free plugin Yoast SEO to

help you achieve this now I'm not gonna

go into too much detail on how that

plugin works and what you can do with it

I've got other videos all around it on

the channel I'll put links to those in

cards up there somewhere and also in the

description below but basically yeah the

process is that you enter a keyword that

you want to kind of rank for that you

want to optimize the content for and

then Yoast will help you make changes to

your content and the layout of your page

and all that kind of stuff so that it is

fully optimized around that keyword used

also has some other cool features like

XML sitemaps which is just basically a

document which contains all the

information around your site so all the

posts and pages and products that you've

got and how often they're updated and

things like that and then with that

sitemap you can upload it to Google so

that Google is they're very clear on the

structure of your site and what you want

it to index basically so as I say I've

got videos on Yoast and all that stuff

and I'll put links to them in the

description below so go check them out

so once you've sorted out your site

visibility and it's all nicely optimized

using Yoast SEO so that we're in search

engines come in they can read all your

content nicely and they know exactly

what it's about

you're kind of halfway there in terms of

SEO but the next bit and probably the

more difficult bit is building links to

your site now links are important when

it comes to trying to

ranked on the search engines because

they're taken as a gauge of your

reputation of your authority of the

quality of your site Google basically

believes that if you've got a good site

and good content and people will

naturally link to it because it's good

stuff and they want to share it and they

want to put it on their sites and and

all that kind of stuff so you know it

makes sense fortunately just creating

good content is not always enough to

kind of encourage those links to your

site there are a few other things you

can do to kind of make the process

happen a little bit quicker and I'm

going to go into those in a second and

the other reason that links are

important not only from a search engine

point of view but just from a traffic

point of view people travel the round

the internet following links so by

having some links on some really good

sites on some authority sites on some

busy sites you're gonna get some of that

traffic people are going to follow those

links and they're going to come to your

site so links you know a really powerful

in more ways than want to say search

engines it's important but also just for

bring in traffic and they're kind of

increasing your reputation and

increasing your general visibility on

the Internet

so how do we go about getting some links

well let me give you a couple of ideas

obviously there's there's a ton of ways

that you can get links I'll just share

with you a few ideas that I've used the

first way is by creating some content

for other people's sites now this is

probably the way that takes the longest

amount of time you need a little bit of

effort and in a bit of time possibly

even some money if you're gonna be

paying writers but basically what you do

is you create some really good content

that's not for your site but for other

people's sites you then approach other

sites that you know in your niche or you

know complimentary to what you're doing

probably not competitive sites if I'm

honest but sites that compliment your

own you then want to approach them and

you could do that here avea email or

maybe via the comment section on their

blog and try and build a bit of a

relationship with them build up some

rapport get into a discussion with them

don't just say oh I've got an article do

you want it and can you link to my site

that's pretty not going to work but you

know if you put some you know

well-placed well-thought-out comments on

their blog maybe drop them an email

saying that you've got a site that's

similar and you really love their site

and you read this article that they did

and you thought it was amazing and by

the way I've got this other article

then you should be able to kind of

eventually encourage them to put your

piece of content on their site but in

the day webmasters thereafter content

you know content is the lifeblood of any

website and creating it is hard work so

if someone's going to offer you a great

piece of content for free it's worth

considering but the way you approach it

as I say you want to be careful you know

don't just jump straight in and don't

just send spam emails to everyone you

really want to kind of build a

relationship with the site owner before

you kind of go in with the do you want

my article can I have a link line if

that makes sense

so do some research there's tons of

stuff about this on the internet

backlinko is a great site again anything

that I mentioned you'll find below in

the comments but your guest post is one

great way of getting links to your site

another idea for getting links is by

using question-and-answer sites sites

like Yahoo Answers or Quora warez that

you say I think he said Quora so you've

gone to these sites and you do some

searches using keywords that are

relevant to your niche so for example if

I was looking to build some link to one

of my Philip's sites which is all about

ladies boots I might do some searches

around the brands that I'm promoting

we'll just ladies boots in general and

then I'm going to look for opportunities

where I can recommend products or I can

recommend some of the articles on my

site now keep in mind that every answer

you post shouldn't have a link in it you

just want to drop a link in where it's

relevant so build up your credibility by

answering questions helpfully and you

know with some good answers so that

they're actually you know useful answers

and then you'll find that there is

opportunities to link back to your site

I want to stress that with all these

methods you don't want to be kind of

spammy or try and automate or any of

that kind of stuff you want to be a real

human being and you want to offer real

value to these sites and that way you've

got a better chance of actually getting

your link and for that link to actually

stick other places that you can build

some good links are from forums which

are kind of similar to question our

sites in a way there's kind of

discussions and things going on again

you want to get involve with those

discussions in a very friendly non

spammy way

so introduce yourself get involved and

be helpful with in the Fred's and you'll

then find again that their opportunities

to post a link to maybe one of your

articles or post links for some of the

products on your site but again don't be

spammy and say do not be spamming that's

the general rule be friendly and be

helpful and you'll find that you you get

somewhere forums often they reward users

that you know contribute some good posts

with a signature so that every poster

you put has your little signature and

often within those signatures you can

include a link or two so it's worth

spending some time with forums and

building up your reputation so that you

can get that signature link and also get

the opportunity to insert links into

Fred's where it's relevant another tip

for building links going back to what I

said earlier with regards to creating

content from the sites if you haven't

quite got the time to you know build a

relationship with a site owner and get

your article on that way you can do a

search for sites that are actively

looking for content so if you go into

google and type in some keywords around

your niche then you include the words

you know submit an article or write four

hours those kind of variations you'll

find sites there in your niche and also

looking for content and they generally

have a form that you can fill in and

send over your article that way it's a

bit quicker than the first point that I

suggested but generally the sites that

are doing this they're not of as high

quality so this way is useful if you

don't want to go through the kind of

building relationship with site owners

approach that I mentioned earlier and

you just want to fill in load of forms

bang out some articles and hope that

some of them stick so yes good tip for

finding sites that are looking for

contact okay so the third and final way

to get traffic I'm going to talk about

today is through social media now social

media is a great way to engage with

people that are interested in what your

website is about so I talking about

Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and

Pinterest all those platforms are a good

way to build a relationship with your

audience over time share your content

and get people coming to your website

now again I'm not going to go into

go to detail on this I've got videos on

the channel around using social media

but generally what you want to do is

build up a following of people that into

whatever you you're offering on your

affiliate site and you can build up that

following for example using paid ads on

Facebook or on Pinterest for example you

could find people that are into what you

do and follow them and what you'll find

is a lot of them will follow you back

and then once you've got those followers

you can push out useful it's got to be

useful useful content to them over a

period of time so it might be sharing

some of the articles on your blog or

sharing the odd product here and there

and what you'll find is you're able to

drive people back to your site in people

that have been before it's a great way

of kind of Rhian gauging with them and

encouraging them to come and take

another look at your site now there are

a number of tools that make social media

a bit easier I like to use buffer it

allows me to schedule up lots and lots

of posts in one go and then I don't have

to worry about it then for next week or

so you also may want to take on an

assistant like a VA or something like

that to help you manage your social

media because it is an ongoing thing and

you need to be kind of actively doing it

day in and day out as I said there are a

number of tools that can kind of help

you streamline the process but it's not

as easy as a flop or SEO which you know

once it's all done and you've got some

reputation and your ranking you get

traffic continuously social media does

need a proactive approach that brings us

to the end of this video I hope you
