I Lost My Voice Before My London Keynote! #Best Education Page #Online Earning

I Lost My Voice Before My London Keynote!

- I'm here in London to speak at this event
called Youpreneur Summit, which I'm so excited about.
My buddy Chris Ducker is putting it on,
but there's just one problem.
How could I speak when I don't have a voice?
As you can hear, it's kind of fading away.
I don't know what I'm going to do.
All I know is I just hope this tea works.
Oh man, I hope this tea works.
(digital music)
All right, I'm in my hotel room at Conrad St. James
in just the middle of London and I'm about to see
Chris Ducker, the man behind Youpreneur.
And I'm guessing he's going to say one of three things
when he sees me.
He's going to go bro!
Or he's going to go dude!
Or he might go brother from another mother.
We'll see what he says.
(knocking on door)
- Dude!
What's up, dude?
- What's up?
I'm here with Chris Ducker, walking around London.
He's going to show me around for the few hours
that we have together before all the madness starts later.
He's my brother, yes!
- He's finally in London.
For years, for years I've been trying to get
this guy to come to London and he's finally here.
- It's cold.
- He's a wimpy little little Californian, but he's okay.
He's going to warm up. - It's true, it's true.
Westminster Abbey.
So tell me about Westminster Abbey.
- [Chris] This is where Queen Elizabeth II was coronated
as the queen and actually in that building
the chair which she sat on when she was coronated.
- [Man] Wait, wait, wait.
What is this?
- [Chris] That's a red telephone box.
- A red telephone box? (Chris laughs)
From Dr. Who? - No!
(laughs) From Dr. Who!
That's a blue telephone box,
that's a police box. - Oh, I'm sorry, sorry.
Dude, what?
- [Chris] Get a nice, solid view of that,
of that moving so you can see the name on it there.
And then maybe pan down to the signs.
- [Man] Got some direction from Chris Tucker.
(Chris laughs)
So Chris, tell me.
Why are you going all out on this?
- Well, I'm coming home to the UK
after being away for 17 years next year
and I wanted to hit the ground running.
I'm bringing a real business event to the UK
and to Europe, quite frankly.
And so the Youpreneur Summit was born
and the reason why I'm going all out
is because there's no other way to do it.
You go big or you go home, it's really that simple.
The UK has been rife with pitch fests
and so called super experienced entrepreneurs
holding events for years and years,
just ripping people off, selling from a back of a room
and all that kind of snake oil salesman stuff
and I want to do something differently.
The UK entrepreneurs deserve something better.
(digital piano music)
Hidden photographic spot that I'm going to share
with Mr. Flynn here.
- Can we share it on the video?
- We totally can do that
and it's a spot that until recently,
it was actually very much a secret to a certain degree,
although it was completely public.
But then I think somebody famous took a photo here
for their wedding and it kind of went a little viral
and now everybody.
- Okay, so there's probably going to be
a lot of people there.
- Possibly, but then again, it's getting a bit chilly,
the sun is going down here in London
and so it might not be as busy as it is
during the day with the tourists and whatnot,
but we'll find out in about T-minus five minutes.
(digital piano music)
Listen Pat, you've got the archway
and you've got Ben, and the bridge,
and the House of Parliament all in one shot.
So that has just become the hottest spot
(mumbles) in the last year or so.
Kind of amazing.
(mumbles)
So I'm curious to know.
As a first time visitor to London,
what do you? - It's cold.
- [Chris] What do you expect, like, when you come to London
for the first time, what do you expect?
- I expect
a lot of double-decker buses and people dressed
really nicely because they worry that they're actually
going to run into the queen at any moment.
- If she is walking around. - Yeah,
that's what I'm saying. (Chris laughs)
She has to go to get groceries.
- [Chris] Right, this is what she does.
I'm really happy to have
you in my hometown, man. - Thank you for showing this
to me, this is beautiful. - This is my London
everybody, this is the way we roll.
- [Pat] Please don't drop that (laughs).
(upbeat music)
- Does it not ring the hours?
(Big Ben chimes)
- It is right now. - Oh (laughs)!
- [Chris] That could not have been,
that couldn't have been timed any better.
(Big Ben chimes)
- So I think I made a big mistake
by going out and networking the people.
- Hi! - Hi!
- Good to see you.
- All the movement.
(people chatter)
- Hey. - Hey.
(coughs)
One of my favorite things to do, but as you can tell,
my voice is suffering because of it
and my number one objective here in London
is to deliver a great closing keynote for Chris
and obviously I can't do that without a voice.
So here's the plan.
Tomorrow when I wake up in the morning,
I'm not going to talk at all.
Luckily my keynote is at the end of the day.
(coughs)
And let's just hope that by drinking lots of tea
and saving my voice,
that I can have my voice back a little bit
for the presentation and deliver for Chris
and the 350 people that are going to be there.
Oh man, all right.
So from this point forward,
the next time you're going to hear me speak
is when I'm up on stage.
Let's just hope my voice comes back.
Goodnight.
(phone alarm rings)
(Pat coughs)
(cheerful music)
- On your face and you're going to pull down
and now you want to do this slowly,
push it softly at first.
Then take your thumbs and put them underneath your chin
(mumbles) along your jawline.
Push your cheeks and with them, moving loosely.
- [Man] And the most important thing you need to do
and remember is make sure you do not mess
up the person's hair.
And I'm going to hold this pressure.
You can see right here, this is a device
that I created which is kind of a do it yourself
acupressure device.
It looks like this tripod because you could literally
put this on the back of your neck
and lay on a couch or your pillow
when that sort of moves away.
And if they have.
(cheerful music)
You can apply some pressure
and that should clear it up.
(cheerful music)
- Oh!
(sighs)
(piano music)
(upbeat music)
So I'm about an hour-and-a-half from my talk.
My voice is coming back a little bit,
but I don't want to overuse it before I go onstage.
So Chris set me up in this room here.
You can see this side room.
Everybody's out there right now
having a break between sessions
and Chris was very, very adamant about me staying here
and not using my voice, so I'm not going to record
for too long.
I'm going to run through my slides, as you can see there
and let's just hope this goes well.
And so there's about 30 minutes left until I talk.
I have had a couple bottles of water,
I've had some Throat Coat tea
and also these ginger chews to help as well, so.
Oh, almost there.
(silly music)
- [Chris] All right guys, so we've come to the end almost.
But I get the opportunity to invite somebody
on the stage who I know a lot of you
love quite dearly.
That might change after this.
(audience laughs)
Pat Flynn is not only an incredible driving force
in the online entrepreneurial world,
he is a top podcaster.
You know what?
He's just bloody great, right?
He really is great at what he does.
He podcasts, he blogs, he vlogs,
and he's my best mate on the planet.
So to close up the inaugural Youpreneur Summit,
please, I'm going to ask you for the last time
to be upstanding, everybody, and put your hands
together for my buddy Pat Flynn!
(audience cheers and applauds)
- [Pat] Thank you all.
Chris, before you sit down,
yeah, I just need something.
