so I'm about to start some writing and I
like to do things that motivate me
before I write you know I want to be in
that right mindset right mindset get it
hey guys hey from Chicago awesome and
one thing I love to do and I'm gonna
just kind of ramble here as we get more
people in the room again thank you for
coming on we're gonna talk a little bit
about haters today and you know I have a
fair amount of haters and we're going to
talk about them we're gonna be reading a
little bit of what they said I have a
couple websites up on line right now
that I want to read some passages of and
this would be a lot of fun now how does
reading this stuff motivate me motivates
me for a number of reasons for one it
just motivates me because I understand
that there are some people out there who
just don't get it right you could be
providing the most value in the world
and there's gonna be a few people out
there who especially if you're doing a
good job at it they're not gonna align
with what it is that you do or why you
do what you do they're gonna try and
expose you they're gonna try and poke
holes in whatever it is that you do so
yeah it's totally like frankly our
Frankie's in the house Frankie fuel to
your fire absolutely so ro meet Sethi
and James Alger had a video once where
they were reading comments and emails
from haters and that was actually pretty
funny so if you want to go and check
that out you could probably find that on
YouTube Ramin Sethi and James Altucher
and they read those now I'm not gonna
read them off in a kind of funny kind of
way that gets it's still a little
comedic to me but this is a serious
topic because the first time I got a
hater like a really bad one I'll tell
stopped me in my tracks like I did not
do any work for three weeks because I
was just so so upset because this one
person said these really hateful things
and was spreading rumors about me and
just I couldn't do anything to help out
and I actually
one of the mistakes which was to reach
out to this person and try to convince
them otherwise and that's typically not
what you want to do because you're just
wasting your time and what I mean by
wasting your time is every second you
waste on that hater is a second that you
are taking away from somebody else who
needs your stuff and so I know that the
percentage of haters and my audience are
likely a fraction of a fraction of a
percent but they often speak the loudest
if that makes sense and this is kind of
weird entrepreneurship business math
right it's one hater comment is greater
than 5,000 positive comments right we
always look at that most negative
comment and we forget how much actually
we are making a difference in all those
sort of sort of things so hey Rob what's
up focus on those who are interested in
your message absolutely now I do want to
define really quick that there's a
difference between somebody who's a
hater and somebody who is actually
criticizing you yes both can be doing so
but a hater is disrespectful hater is
just trying to get attention hater has
something going on in their head that
just they feel like they need attention
and really it's not on you if somebody
is hating on you and being disrespectful
that's a reflection of who they are and
they might be jealous say for whatever
reason just have some issues and they
want to lash it out on you because
you're a target and when you were on
line you are putting yourself out there
and vulnerable to haters out there so I
think this is a really important topic
that I wanted to talk about so important
that we actually almost have 300 people
in this room and so again thank you guys

I have a website and a podcast and an
YouTube channel that all talk about how
to build your online business and also
do in a way that is over time because it
can't happen right away but it can be
somewhat automated in a way where it can
be working for you instead of the other
way around
and over time ever since I started in
2008 I've gotten a handful probably more
than a handful of haters I've had forums
talk about me and rip me up to pieces
and I've learned to grow a thick skin
and that's one thing that you have to
learn you have to learn to grow a thick
skin and understand that this isn't your
problem this is somebody else's problem
if they are again hug your haters says
what a Jeremy yeah that's a that's Jay
Bears motto hug your haters absolutely
get it good evening everybody 306 people
that's awesome so here's a great comment
from Rashad you can obviously listen to
them but not
you sleep over a single hate comment
yeah that's the thing I lost my sleep
for three weeks and then there was
another forum they were talking about
how I was the scum of the earth and that
I lost two weeks of work and a lot of
sleep over and it's just you can't help
but think about it and it would be kind
of silly for me to say just don't just
ignore it right because I can tell you
that all day but you're but once you
know that's there you you're not gonna
ignore it right but you can use it as
fuel for fire and you can also
understand that you know these guys have
issues and there's something that's
going on in their lives that they're
just taking it out on you because you
are putting yourself out there they're
there often people who hide behind some
sort of avatar especially on YouTube
right because we don't know who they are
exactly it's like hey why don't you come
and say this to my face if you really
felt that way I've had a few haters come
on the pair's go before now nothing too
crazy and of course I can just block
those people really quickly and if
people are hating on what I do I
typically block them anyways this is the
derek halpern approach hey this is my
site my home my channel whatever get out
of here and you IP block them and then
you guys don't have to you know you guys
don't have to worry about them anymore
so I love the conversation that's going
on here why waste your time on haters
absolutely and so I just wanted to bring
this out there because I know a lot of
you are just starting out as well or
maybe you've been doing this for a while
and you're trying to push yourself and
as you're pushing further and trying to
do new things you're getting these kind
of this push back this resistance and
you know a lot of times the resistance
comes from our own self our own voices
in her head trying to stop us but a lot
of times it's other people too so you've
got to make sure that you do your best
you can to surround yourself with people
who should same values as you who can
lift you up and not tear you down I mean
we live in this world that is a bucket
of crabs I don't know if you've heard
this analogy before but essentially the
world is a we are in this bucket of
crabs and when somebody tries to climb
to the top of and get out the other
crabs pull that crab back down in this
ever never-ending battle of king of a
hill right and so we live in this bucket
of cramps because you could literally
put a bucket of crabs out live crabs and
know them none of them whatever none of
them would ever come out so this wall
behind me this is why I have this angle
today is because these are the people
that matter you guys who are here matter
these guys this is everybody who has
sent me thank-you notes for all the
great things that I've done so every
time somebody says Pat your scam you
suck you're not teaching anybody
anything I'm like I have all this proof
back here and all
these emails in my folder literally
twenty thirty thousand thank you emails
that I've collected over time that could
prove that person otherwise and then
again every second I waste on that
person is a second wasted on somebody
who actually needs me so there you go
okay so let's go into some of this hate
mail or hate you know this hate online
and just the reason I'm doing this and
exposing all this is because I want you
to just to know that it's okay it's
gonna happen and when it happens it just
means you're doing big bold things if
you didn't get haters that's when I'd
get worried because it just means that
you're actually not pushing hard enough
I think I think it is those who push
hard who try to make change they're
gonna get that resistance from other
people and that's a good sign actually
that's something that somebody told me
that I didn't get at first but I get
that now
and I love that so let's see there is a
couple if you look up affluence scam
online you'll see a whole number of
things is Pat Flynn smart passive income
and one day be via scam Pat Flynn
exposed a skeptical review of his smart
passive income claims let's see what
else this is fun Pat Flynn's scam frog
Kaplan's of fraud as he has scammed does
he make what he claims that uh that this
does he really make 30k a month and all
this stuff it's crazy right but yeah
it's outrageous but you know what it's I
get where they're coming from but again
going back to what I said earlier
there's a difference between hate and
and criticism I love getting criticized
in a respectful way I listen to
everybody out there who is going to not
call me names or whatever because those
are people who actually care they take
they have taken the time to read your
stuff or listen to your stuff they have
an opinion about it and it's important
to listen to your audience's opinion and
a lot of times when people have spoken
up and are again respectful I listened
and I made some changes because we're
always doing and testing new things
online and a lot of times people respond
and maybe a way that's not hater ish and
disrespectful but it can come across as
a little harsh to you and you may kind
of assume that that's a reflection on
you but no it's just somebody who is
using their own voice to really really
help you out that there was a point
where I launched a course and people
weren't really happy with it and then I
got a lot of great feedback made some
changes and so on and so forth so here's
let me see if I can turn this around
so here's a post using the fisheye lens
here paplu expose a skeptical review of
his smart passive income claims here he
is starts with a great quote he says he
who can does he who cannot teaches man
and Superman 1903 Maxim's for
revolutionist George Bernard Shaw so I'm
not exactly sure what this person's goal
is but the interesting thing is and I'll
tell you what this person did this
person left a yeah exactly who said that
Sam
the realtor said link baning yeah I hate
that quote too and that's exactly what
he was doing cuz after all this
conversation back and forth like why are
you doing this what the heck he was
calling me names he left a comment that
was literally four or five paragraphs in
length a couple thousand words if that
that was really hating on me and he left
his comment on my blog and then he left
his comment on every other single blog
and podcast episode that I was ever
featured on at the time there was
probably over forty at this time and he
just left the same exact comment in all
of those places so I started getting
emails about this from my friends who I
had contact with or who had featured me
on their site and I was just I could not
believe it they're like hey who's this
guy he's he's saying stuff about which
is crazy I'm just gonna delete the the
message you might you know follow up and
see where else he is and what
essentially I found out was that through
talking to him he said Oh Pat I knew you
were a popular guy and I knew that this
would cause a stir I just wanted people
to come to my website are you serious
like this is the sky's method of getting
traffic really now I respect his opinion
in terms of trying to poke holes in my
stuff but you can do that in a way that
doesn't do it for that purpose yes
di CK for sure and and so he was
essentially link baiting and was just
trying to get traffic to his site he
knew that if he posted this comment on
every other site and of course with your
comment you can put the URL of your site
he would get traffic and that sucks and
that's why I'm not really
going into what his website is although
I will say that the tagline for his
website where he posted this big post
about me is discover global dating
foreign women X or foreign women expat
living and freedom beyond America so
initially it was hard for me to take
this guy seriously but because he put
all this stuff on all these other sites
I was really really really upset about
it and just couldn't work for three
weeks and no the traffic went last I
mean why would it would what does it say
about this person if you're gonna learn
from somebody would you want to learn
from a person like this no okay so let's
see maybe I can paraphrase this or
summarise hey oh I've been looking over
the blog of a popular internet marketer
Pat Flynn blah blah blah very generous
it's actually being nice here at the
beginning however I can't help but be a
bit skeptical of his personal success
claims first he tells us in an intro
that it takes a lot of hard work in time
to build up and build an online business
that's true see here but then he claims
in his interviews and story that he's
made $8,000 in his first month of
selling one ebook and he's made over
$200,000 in his first year see he's
already miscommunicated or misheard what
I had said I had made $8,000 in the
first month of monetizing but that's not
the first month that I started the
website the website green exam Academy
which is the one he's talking about it
had been up for a year and a half at
that point so anyway moving on now this
is the fun part now I've been making
money online for years so apparently
he's been doing some online marketing as
well I've been making money online for
years and I know many others who are
doing it too so I have some good
knowledge and experience in this area
and I know that making $8,000 during
your first month especially selling one
e-book is an extraordinary claim after a
few years I managed to pull in a few
thousand a month which was no easy feat
and only due to my novel original ideas
that were the first of its kind but
that's after a slow and steady traffic
build-up that involved hard work and
production of good original content with
no secret formulas so based on my
experience his claims of success and
quick high profits are extraordinary
so he was comparing his own experience
with making money online and the fact
that he didn't make an incredible amount
that that because of that I wasn't able
to so I'm the epitome of creating the
trend of transparency
in monetization good so yeah that's
flawed logic definitely his sample
passive income business science do look
great though and our ranked very high so
he definitely must have a lot of traffic
coming in which could give him good
income but there are many sites out
there that look great with web 2.0
graphics and nifty WordPress themes but
they make an S here his businesses you
can see them for yourself he links a
number of them oh here we go this is the
best part so he got into watching some
of my youtube videos furthermore if Pat
Flynn really made 30 thousand dollars a
month why is he always wearing cheap
looking worn-out t-shirts in his video
interviews see this one for example and
this self intro on his home page in my
experience people who are really pulling
in a lot of income do not like to draw
public attention to it unless they are
celebrities there are negative
consequences to doing that especially if
you're making a lot of money online is
not the best interest to publicize it
for it will draw bad people and incite
others to follow your business model and
create complicate versions of your site
which could potentially jeopardize your
income I see his logic in there you know
why would you share your income if your
you could potentially ruin the income
that you're getting because there'll be
complicates no rational person would do
would want to do that well that times
have changed anyway Pat Flynn wears nice
t-shirt says attorney scheana thank you
and then he asks me a whole bunch of
questions here and then he follows up
follows up again and there's 88 comments
on this post about it a lot of people
are actually supportive of me and have
actually gone in here and wrote you know
supported me in that way so again that's
just one example of any are out there
there was a forum post that somebody
left a long time ago the forum post was
deleted but it had called me and was
talking about me as scum of the earth
and this was for whatever reason I don't
know what was going on but I actually
ended up getting this person who was
calling me scum of the earth on a Skype
call because this person called me scum
of the earth because he couldn't believe
that I was making this much money online
and he was just like I want to see proof
and so I went in that forum I registered
for an account and I
responded and I said hey here's my Skype
account I'm on today tomorrow these
times Skyped me and we'll I'll walk you
through my account and then I walked him
through my accounts and then he later
posted another post that had been
apologized apologetic about that and
that he said then then he went on to say
well maybe you're not doing it the right
way because it's coming across so
negative and you're giving people bad
impression about you because you're
being honest I was like what I don't I
don't get it and he was like you should
post your screenshots of your income
every month and I thought about doing
that actually that was a great
suggestion however anybody could
screenshot anything I remember on
Clickbank I remember somebody selling
something and it showed you know a
million dollars made on Clickbank in a
month and it was obvious that that that
thing was photoshopped but yeah it's
just there people don't make sense out
there and so a big lesson to all of you
guys is you know what there are there
will be haters you can't avoid them but
you can't ignore them and even if you
can't you don't have to make them have
an impact on what it is that you're
doing because they're trying to derail
you that and I sort of feel haters are
sort of this natural part of being an
entrepreneur garyvee has haters Tim
Ferriss has massive haters and they're
incredibly successful in our changing
lives they've changed mine and so just
because somebody out there does not
agree with what it is that you do or how
you do it doesn't mean that you're not
going to make an impact and actually
change somebody else is like who
actually matters - so Rob's like got to
get me some haters ignore the haters
they only happen when you're awesome
president has haters yeah for sure
but it's your business you can do what
you want exactly shake them hater off
shake shake it off shake it off woo if
you're making money doing what you love
you don't have you don't have interest
hating others absolutely so you know a
lot of this is jealousy a lot of this is
people wish they were in your shoes a
lot of this is they don't understand
which is OK and if I feel like people
don't understand like in that case there
this person just didn't understand how
this was even possible his he was so
conditioned to know that this was always
a scam I went in there and showed him
otherwise and even then he just couldn't
believe it right away
and so there are people out there who
aren't going to believe you they say
that you're bragging I understand that
as well but you know the way I counter
that is every time I brag if you will I
come out with a lot more lessons and
things involved and showing that you
know this isn't bragging this is
actually showing a lesson and what's
possible so yeah I mean this is this is
I'm not gonna go into any more it is
hard to read I'm not gonna lie to you
but I it is not hard for me to just put
it aside and I'm now incredibly
motivated to continue writing tonight
and continue publishing stuff and
continue working on my book to which I
will finish absolutely at some point
this year and release it and probably
get even more haters so yeah there you
go
and I don't know I got a few minutes
here before the hour I thought I was
gonna finish up at 10 p.m. but you know
we've had people in the room already
talked about their own haters too so
let's talk for five more minutes
about whatever you guys want to talk

first step that your audience mistake
and it comes with a commission at no
extra cost to the person because it's an
affiliate income so I would ask
everybody out there actually who's
watching this what is your Blue Coast
what's the first thing that you can
recommend to your inés it's gonna make
sense to help you help them in their
journey
that's why Blue Hose does so well and
not every niche has a Bluehost
equivalent but it makes sense because if
I'm teaching people how to build a
business online I need to give them a
recommended host and that's the first
step
in terms of actually generating some
sort of presence online of course now
the first step isn't actually building a
website it's actually discovering what
the problems and solutions are the the
problems of your audience and what is
the solution so there we go how real and
genuine transparent you are keeping you
think you create created to cook I love

noticed that since the redesign a few
years back I didn't start by asking for
people's email addresses I started by
saying hey here's where you can go to
get started and that initial click
becomes training for that audience the
traffic that comes to my site to
actually click through and keep going
and keep going through my site and all
this all those sorts of things so a
getting started page and along with that
first steps what are your the first
steps maybe it's something that you can
create may read something that somebody
else has already created maybe it
doesn't exist yet so you can work on
making that happen
affiliate marketing changed my life to
Tiffany and a lot of good you know
there's a very big negative connotation
that comes with affiliate marketing and
it's because internet marketers screwed
it up and internet marketers see these
opportunities to promote material that
they don't know about or they haven't
used before it's just a link and a
commission and they send it through
their traffic they pound their their
audience on the head with it and people
buy and they're not happy
and then now affiliate marketing because
it's technically easy to do
has a bad rap but I'm trying to change
that and showing you that if you use
those products if you believe in them if
you've had good experiences with them
and you know they can take care of your
audience and if you treat them like
products that
you have of your own you can win with
affiliate marketing and everybody has
that everybody can win I get haters who
talk crap about me promoting products
curious OneNote vs Evernote I've never
used one note I like Evernote better and
I use the Evernote Web Clipper to be
able to save things and categorize them
for later so I can implement my
just-in-time learning
I only promote products I loves this
camera yes which page on your site is
crushing it for you there's a lot out of
the resource page smartpassiveincome.com
slasher Resources is the number one most
profitable page and what I love about
that pages it lists all the tools that
I've used that have helped me in the
past and I curate that and I you know
delete ones that go bad over time I add
new ones over time as well and people
find it I mention it in podcast episodes
I mention it in the link to it and blog
posts and an emails as well and it's a
completely passive income coming from it
because people go to it looking for
stuff that they need and some of those
products have affiliate Commission's
tied to them some of them do not it's
not about that it's about providing
value and a lot of those products
actually do have a commission so I earn
oprima commission when people go through
now that page isn't to try and bombard
people with all the things they should
buy and I essentially sit I say every
time I recommend people going to that
resource page find the one thing that
works for you with whatever it is that
you're focusing on right now and that
helps people understand that wow there's
not all this thing all these things I
have to get I just need to find the one
that works for me right now so I don't
know why this was so comfortable just
putting this in my head and just for now
Pat you rock how do we cut through the
clutter how do you break through that
noise how do you amp amplify your sound
through everybody else who's trying to
make a sound out there that's a great
question there's a lot of ways to do I
think one of the ways that I'm
demonstrating right now and it's it's
being open and honest and authentic it's
being vulnerable it's being a human
being it's being personable showing
people that you have you know that
you're a human being
building a relationship with people is
gonna help you more than anything I
think another thing is is literally
being different there's a great quote by
Sally hogshead that is my all-time
favorite quote of the month I guess you
could say because I get new quotes all
the time I say quotes at the end of my
ASP a podcast in this quote I love it is
different is better than better I love
that quote it's such a profound quote
different is better than better it's a
lot of times we're trying to do things
better than every
we're trying to do things and take
things up a notch when we might not be
Newton needing to do that we just need
to be different we need to be doing it
in a different way so different is
better than better Sally hogshead it is
a great quote question pad do you
outsource your podcast episode graphics
on your site they're really good for the
first because weird that's a Doc Brown
face for the first hundred some-odd
episodes ie I did them all myself and
that's not true because the graphics
that you see now the style that they're
at with a cursive font which is specific
oh and then the bold font which is
próxima Nova that started around episode
50 I would say so I did 50 on my own
then answers that to Dustin my um my
graphics guy who loved talking I had
singing lessons today so my voice is a
little different is better than better
remember who you are trying to help stay
focused clutter question oh thank you

slogans me to post funny stories use
that that's your unique advantage if
that's your thing
you know make that your thing I want
everybody in here to know that the
secret to standing out and this is this
is really what it comes down to is to
understand what it is you want your
audience to say when you're not there
that is what brining is all about what
your audience says about you when
they're not there so for example if your
name is Joe say
you know imagine people having a
conversation and then your website comes
up and then somebody goes oh Joe's
website he's the one who blank he's the
one who creates these amazing slogans
for every post he's the one who creates
these funny stories that make me laugh
out loud what is it that you want your
audience to say about you
how will they recommend you to everybody
else that's how you can figure out what
stand out it's kind of a mind exercise
and I love that Chris Ducker in the
house hey I know that guy
Ducker now that he's here I guess I'll
stay on a few more minutes because you
know we'll let him steal the show for a
little bit
fourth time's the charm nice do you line
up your own guests for the podcast or do
you hire that out I actually line up my
own guests myself and I use a
spreadsheet in Google sheets
and fourth times a charm absolutely to
plan ahead and I plan about two months
in ahead and you know sometimes things
get shifted around because people have
certain maybe they have books that are
coming out or certain things that need
to happen or maybe it's an important
message something is like a hot topic
right now and I get I want to fit that
person in and things shift around but I
use Google sheets to do that and I
manage that episode by episode by date
it's also categorized in terms of who
the sponsors are and all those sorts of
things it's all in one particular slot
so cool calendly we are using Co
schedule actually for managing all the
posts and drafts ahead of time that
hasn't been turned on yet but we are
preparing to turn that on in October of
2015 in terms of my whole team being
able to go in there and what's gonna
happen is every Monday is gonna be my
writing day and I know every Monday I go
into Co schedule I click on my task for
that day and it opens up a Google Doc
with the title of the post that I had
preset earlier than month prior so I can
just go in on Monday boom I know what I
need to work on and that's right there I
don't need to figure out what to do it's
already in there and that I finish on
that day or that week actually so I
spend time writing that in the next
Monday again writing blog posts my job
that's Monday on Tuesday I know that
that's when I schedule on my podcast
episode interviews whether I'm on
somebody else's show I'm interviewing
for my show that's hooked up on calendly
and Jessica my assistant knows that when
I'm trying to coordinate interviews it's
always on Tuesday and Catalan Glee lets
you select what days you want and what
times are available based on
already on your calendar so when a time
slot gets filled it it that times like
it's filled and people can't choose that
anymore Trello is pretty cool yes we use
that for project management you know
creating a pipeline and bugs and then
moving into things and that's more
software related for at least what we do
kimra uses cattlemen calendly as well as
Chris in the house Chris you're very
quiet man usually whenever you're in a
room with me were loud and rowdy and I
don't know if you just laughed or maybe
you were wanting to start your own scope
and maybe you started one already in
trying to scope block me or whatever
do I like Co schedule better than Edgar
I use them both actually um now I will
say you shouldn't have to use you don't
need to use both but I like to use both
I like Edgar because of schedules posts
and recycles them especially you know my
quote cards on Twitter and certain posts
that I want to be shared over and over
and over again on a specific day time of
the month but also Ryan's in-house
what's that Ryan look out for his

actually not surprised he's been gone
for a while what was I saying
oh and then and then calendly is great
because when you publish a post or even
when you draft one you can select how
often in the future you want that post
to be shared again and and that's very
very powerful as well I don't scope
block yet cuz I don't have to what I
don't even know what that means
spell check user spell check no one's
kidding you don't have to know because
you're here and you know that I would
have all the audience so anyway no I'm
just kidding not really but I am but not

you have a lot of posts in the archive
speaking of posts in the archive you
know that's one of the big challenges
that I've had in the recent years is how
to get people to find my older posts now
I've been utilizing my email list to do
that I've been just sharing on social
media that's worked as well but there's
gonna be a big change you're gonna see
on the home page in the next couple
months my team's implementing this right
now and actually designing it there's
gonna be a way for you to understand
more of the content that's available for
you based on the bucket that you that
you're in in my audience and if you saw
my periscope on email as I'm dividing
not necessarily dividing but I'm
understanding more about my audience
through the survey that I ran and I'm
essentially being able to understand the
tory's of people and where they're at in
their businesses and that's gonna help
me with my emails and make sure that I
email you what you need to know and not
stuff that you don't need to know and
that's just gonna confuse you I'm also
going to be dividing the homepage into
spots that are going to be perfectly
tailored to you and I don't know exactly
how personalized it can be but my goal
is to be as personalized as possible and
that's going to have some sort of
algorithm then dives into the archive
and pulls out all of episodes we are
actually doing a complete blog post on
it so we're going back and looking at
all 800 previous posts were recategorize
again I did a terrible job of
categorizing in the beginning I've ended
up with 50 different categories like how
lame is that and we re categorizing and
then we are also going to be putting
them into different buckets or ranks
based off of where people are at and
again you're gonna be able to we're
actually deleting a lot of older posts
as well this is something you know clean
up and it's this is really hard for me
to do but a lot of people who I know who
have cleaned up their archive who have
lived literally deleted stuff that
doesn't matter anymore you know and
there's some stuff in the archive that
isn't relevant anymore but I want to
keep like when I had my child or when I
got married and that sort of thing but
other posts they're way outdated why
have them there and so we're either
gonna do deletions or we're gonna
redirect or we're going to have links on
those to capture that SEO and bring them
back to another site so there's a lot of
things that are gonna be happening but
my goal is to make sure that I provide
you the best and most value that I can
and right now I know that I'm not doing
that your survey results told me that
and so I feel bad about that but we're
making changes right now it's gonna be a
lot of fun how many categories do you
think is wise to shoot for obviously 50
of the time yes I would say now we are
kind of on my team at least we're
dividing the audience into three
different buckets but that's not
categories categories are different but
the buckets are essentially people who
are just starting out online who haven't
even had a business yet that they need
different information than the people
who have started online but are kind of
stuck in the 0 to $500 raise range and
then once you're earning about $500 a
month we found that there's a certain
mindset that clicks in in certain types
of information that you can use that the
other people want so those are the three
buckets we're creating that's helping me
segment my audience I have different
lists for those people in my email
autoresponder I'm using convertkit right
now which has been an amazing
experience to use and I'll talk more
about that on the blog later thank you

I appreciate that but then in addition
to that there's categories based on the
different topics so we want people for
example to say oh I want to learn in the
beginner middle or you're advanced you
still need podcasting stuff so we're
gonna have categories based off of those
certain things when is the book coming
that is coming I'm writing every single
morning this morning I woke up at 5:30
to write and that's why I may be on
Facebook or Twitter you saw a poster
mean that said the early bird gets to
write like the early bird gets the worm
but no the early bird gets to write at
least in my house because it's difficult
to write when the kids are up and when
the kids are up obviously I just want to
spend as much time with them as possible
and that's why I'm doing this scope now
that the kids are asleep and I'll talk
for 10 more minutes here and tell me
when it's been 10 min so I can so I can
get to work but I've been waking up
earlier in the morning to write and I
know that when the kids wake up that's
the end of my book writing time for the
day I wake up and I write on my book
every single morning now I'm creating a
habit and I'm at the point now where
I've if I missed that I hate it I it's
like that's where you want to be where
you were doing something that's
improving yourself or you're making
progress on something and when you skip
out on that thing you want to not be
happy or feel sick about it ain't not
like I do sick but I have a mystery post
of the day feature that's pretty cool so
I think what we were gonna do is create
a randomized feature so if you
essentially imagine you go down the
homepage you'll be ten boxes instead of
two like currently right now you see the
latest blog post and the latest podcast
episode how self-centered is that it's
like hey guys look at me this is my
latest blog post and my latest podcast
episode look at what I have this is
important no I have to focus on you guys
so it's gonna be not that it's gonna be
rather hey guys here's the homepage
check to see what's gonna fit for you
subscribe to that particular list you're
gonna get in more information about that
and I'm gonna help you guide I'm gonna
guide you through all this and then that
includes podcast episodes that includes
a span episodes that includes blog posts
and all those sorts of things
Frankie's in the house still now so it's
awesome do I ever draw for fun just a
clear mind architecture or whatever yes
I love to draw actually my kids draw now
and I'm not a terrible jar but I'm not a
good one either if that makes sense but
I love to just do it
