in this video we talk about traffic
again getting traffic to our affiliate
websites and this time I'm gonna be
talking about paid traffic so let's go

for watching so yeah as I said in this
video I kind of follow on from my last
video which was all about traffic and we
paid traffic well as the name suggests
this is traffic that you pay for so let
me be more specific
the two main paid traffic platforms that
I love to use our Facebook and Google
Adwords
so you basically set up a campaign on
either of those platforms and you set up
your targeting the kind of people that
you want to show ads to and then when
someone clicks on those ads and comes
through to your website you're then
charged and that price can vary
considerably depending on the market and
the products and services that you're
trying promote it can be a little is you
know ten cents five cents a click and we
can go all the way up to you know $10
$15 a click depending as I say on the
market and the competition that's in
that market so the great thing about
paid traffic is that you have total
control unlike things like search engine
optimization or SEO and social media
where you kind of do some stuff and you
hope that you get some clicks and you
get some traffic to your website we've
paid traffic you have complete control
you set your campaigns up you set your
budgets which could be as little as five
dollars a day whatever you want to spend
really and then Facebook Google or
whoever you're using then shows your ads
and you'll start to get traffic until
that budget is spent now I've worked
with paid traffic for many many years
mainly with traditional clients that are
looking to drive traffic to their
traditional type websites you know to
generate sales leads or sales and I'm
now kind of applying those skills that I
learned doing that on affiliate
marketing so as an affiliate is paid
traffic a good source of traffic for
your website well yes it can be but you
do need to be careful because also you
can be spending money to get that
traffic and you need to make sure that
the ROI or the return on investment does
add up correctly so you need to be
making enough money to cover the cost of
the ads and it's also you make a profit
and make some money and get that balance
right can be quite tricky so let me give
you a bit of advice
on what you can do to try and get the
most value from your pain traffic now
this applies to all sorts of affiliate
marketing websites but I'm going to
focus on Amazon affiliate websites
because they are what most of you guys
are doing but because you've followed
some my tutorials thank you very much
but of course if you're writing other
affiliate products maybe higher value
products that you get you know a nice
big Commission that makes it a bit
easier when it comes to page search
because if you've got a bigger
Commission it's easier to cover cost you
pay traffic and much more stuff but yeah
let's talk about Amazon affiliate
website so the thing with being an
Amazon affiliate is that the commission
rates compared to other and fit box
programs are quite low I think the best
you are going to get is around 10% but
it can be as low as 1% or 1/2 percent of
the sale which you know on $100.00 sale
or whatever is not a huge amount so
you've got to be really careful when
you're running paid ads that everything
adds up quickly and my advice on this is
you need to think of ways you can get
the best value from those clicks the
problem is if you send people from your
paid search campaign onto Amazon a fruit
website and then they go off to Amazon
and they make a purchase Amazon then
owns that customer they've got their
email address they call their contact
information and they can then resell
multiple types of thing get quite a lot
of value out of that customer whereas
you're only going to get paid that
little bit of Commission on the first
order and if it's not a big order it
might not cover the cost of the paid ads
so you need to get more value and where
you can do that is to capture that
customer before they go off to your site
and make a purchase through Amazon so if
you're on Facebook for example and
you're thinking of running some Facebook
Ads what I suggest you do is rather than
create a campaign that sends people
straight to your site and to go and buy
a product I would create a campaign that
drives people to your Facebook page and
so that people come to your Facebook
page via one of your paid ads and then
they click like and they're obviously
liking your Facebook page the reason why
I recommend this is because then you
have that customer on your page and then
you can then send messages to them and
communicate with them many times over
period of time so say for example you
run a Facebook campaign and it's coming
in at say 50 cents maybe $1 per like you
can get value from that dollar
by approaching multiple products those
people over time and you know hopefully
then you'll get more than the one sale
from them and you'll also be able to
other products maybe not even Amazon
related products you might move into
other things and you've still got them
on your Facebook page and you can you
know talk to them send messages and
communicate with them so let me give you
another example of how you can get value
maybe you're running Google AdWords
campaigns which is where your ads can
show on Google the search engine
someone's doing a search on Google for
your product that you haven't to be
promoting on your Amazon affiliate
website you send them through to your
site from Google you need to capture
their details before they click off and
go and make that purchase on Amazon so
two ways you can do this the first is
you can have a pop-up come up you know
maybe saying get our free newsletter
that's got loads of information about
whatever you're you know doing on your
website and hope that that captures
their information
the other option you've got and this is
for people that are running the wus own
plugin which I'm sure a lot of you are
there is an option in there that you can
turn on and you can capture people's
email addresses as they go through the
checkout now I've not really
experimented with this too much and I
know where to switch it on you go into
the blue zone settings I'll put it up on
the screen now show you where to do that
I don't know how well this works I'd
love to hear your feedback if you've
been using it basically what that does
is it collects all the email addresses
puts them into file and you can then
download them and put them into your
MailChimp or whatever email provider
you're going to be using and again
you're then able to communicate with
those customers on an ongoing basis and
you know promote other products to them
and other things you know whatever you
like to do so in summary what I'm saying
is if you're going to run paid search
campaigns that's great
but you're going to think of how you can
capture that customers information
before they go off to whoever you're
promoting say Amazon and make that
purchase so you've got some value from
that paint per click on top of the
Commission that you're going to be
earning from those clicks now if you're
interested in doing the Facebook stuff
in terms of creating a page maybe people
to go on but then promoting that page
using Facebook Ads
I'll put a link to a video one of these
corners not sure which one to do I did a
little while back it was around the
viral site that I did but the principles
are still the same in terms of running
ads and getting like so picolet with
that and I may do a Google AdWords one
in the future as well
setting up campaigns and all that sort
of stuff proceed with caution if you're
going to set up some paid campaigns
start with small budgets make sure that
you're able to track everything on
Facebook is quite easy because it'll
tell you how many likes you've gotten a
cost per like but if you're sending
people to your site make sure you
install the Facebook pixel and all that
stuff and you've got Google Analytics so
you can see what's working in terms of
paid search because what you'll find is
you create a campaign with lots of
different adverts and maybe different
targeting it'll only be some of that
that actually really works really well
and you know generates useful good sales
and the rest would just be a waste of
money so you do need to get your
tracking in place to make sure that you
can see exactly which adverts and stuff
working I hope I'm not been rambling too
much in this video it was very early
