hey life masters this is Stefan James
from project life mastery and today I'm
going to share with you how to plan your
day like Tony Robbins now you probably
already know who Tony Robbins is famous
success coach reaching and impacting
millions of people all around the world
and you've probably wondered and asked
herself how the heck does Tony Robbins
achieve so much how does he do so much
how does Tony Robbins plan his day well
I'm gonna share with you exactly how he
does it in this video I'm gonna break it
down and walk you through the steps of
what he does he actually developed his
own time management method called rpm ok
rpm is what it's called or PM which
stands for the rapid planning method and
he also breaks it down as an acronym now
anytime that you plan out your year
month week day whatever it might be okay
regardless of what it is it has to
consist of the R which he calls the
result knowing a specific result or
outcome that you're after for that day
and this is kind of like a goal okay
you've got to make sure that you
condition yourself to not just focus on
what you need to do each day but what
the result is that you're after because
the to-do list that you have is all to
contribute towards a specific result and
if you know what that result is then you
can come up with maybe a better list of
to dues or actions that can allow you to
achieve it so always starting with the
result and that requires you to ask
yourself the question first thing in the
morning or anytime you're planning
anything is what is the result that I'm
after what's the result what's this
specific and measurable result the
target that I want to achieve okay
so that's number one you're gonna know
more than one result obviously but
number one is the result next is what he
calls the purpose the purpose is why you
want to achieve the result so you get a
ask yourself why do I want this why do I
want this results what will this result
give me see Tony believes that if you
have enough reasons to achieve something
you can get yourself to do anything that
these reasons this purpose is going to
be the fuel that will motivate and drive
you towards achieving it a lot of people
there is kind of aimless
achieving throughout the day there is
they get caught up in activity and they
mistaken activity with accomplishments
two very different things you can be
busy and do a lot of stuff but it
doesn't mean that you're achieving any
results or making any progress and the
purpose also gives you a sense of
satisfaction and fulfillment behind why
you're doing what you do right so if you
ever find yourself lacking the
motivation come down to your purpose
come you know ask yourself why am I
doing this what will this give me why is
this a must for me that that will fuel
you towards putting the energy in the
effort towards achieving it next is what
he calls calls it your map which stands
for massive action plan okay massive
action plan so now that you know what
your result is you have a purpose for it
now what is your massive action plan by
taking action on this list which is your
to-do list it will allow you to achieve
the result okay so this is the
methodology so let's break it down and
I'll kind of show you how this works so
the first thing that you actually want
to do before you start your day before
you even kind of go through the rpm
process the first thing you're going to
want to do is to is to capture okay this
is basically a process of you writing
down everything you can think of that
you need to do okay are that you want to
do so you kind of you know the kind of
the analogy he gives is that imagine as
if you're moving houses for example or
apartments and you just kind of take all
your belongings you just kind of throw
it on the floor those are all the things
you have and you first got to start with
that you got to know everything
everything that you have out there
everything that you need to do but then
once you have that list you need to
organize it you need to organize certain
things that you have and organize it in
certain to to certain results or rpm
plans okay so for example if you start
off your day and there's first
brainstorming everything you can think
of well you might think well you know I
got to write my book I'm just gonna give
you some examples I need to workout at
the gym
I gotta call my accountant I need to
record say three videos for my youtube
channel I got to proofread my book or
hire someone to proofread it for me
maybe I gotta you know get a get a book
cover I got a set up I'm gonna set up a
new bank accounts then I've gotta you
know spend time with my kids or plan
I'll say plan date night so as you can
imagine I mean you probably might have a
list of like 50 things right like we all
do and the worst again strategy that
people have is ace make a list and they
just try to take s number one you just
get so overwhelmed by seeing a list I
don't know about you but man I have a
whole list that I planned out I'm like
oh my god this so many things that's so
overwhelming and it's because you're
looking at it in a way of it being a
long list and you're not chunking and
actually organizing it and categorizing
it together so what you essentially do
is you take this list and organize it
and ask yourself what are the results
that I'm after what are the outcomes
that I'm after for this week or for this
day and so you'd organize it and let me
show you how that would work so for
example a lot of yous are already
related that I can chunk together so
write book proofread the book and you
know get a book cover you know these
these are things are kind of like one
chunk and this would basically fit into
a result a result that you'd have around
you know publishing a book and you'd
want to be clear and what that result is
another category would be something for
my body right so work it at the gym and
I'd probably have more around that but
that's that's another results that I'm
after you know recording three videos
that might be something more related to
a result around content creation and
then you know bank account that might be
another result date night that's more
for relationships
okay so now already we've got a few
different outcomes and there's only
gonna be so many outcomes that you're
focused towards on a daily basis so now
we want to clarify the outcomes and you
would do this process like my favorite
way of doing this is using evernote
evernote is like a free software that
you can download on your computer you
can download it on your phone and
everything as well but it's a it's a
great resource because I like it because
I can put it in my phone and I can share
it with my different devices and
everything - and it's I've used you know
Tony actually has a book I like a binder
that helps you do this that I have but
you have to kind of carry around a big
book with you and I said I find it's not
that practical that often so I like to
do it through Evernote but you could do
it whatever way you want pen and paper
if you like if you prefer that
okay so what is the result let's take
one of those so I want to think of a
result that's related to the book that I
want to launch okay so my result will be
two to easily to easily launch my new
book on I'm gonna say morning rituals
because I've got a book on that shut out
267 morning ritual habits on Amazon
check out the book I'll link it below
easily launch my new book morning on
morning ritual morning ritual habits to
impact thousands of lives lives and
enjoy the process now you might be
thinking oh my god stuff that's a long
result why did I write it out this way
because I want to make sure that the
result is empowering that the language
that I'm using is exciting that when I
look at it when I read it when I focus
on it I'm like yeah that's what I want I
want to easily launch my new book on
morning rituals to impact thousands of
lives and enjoy the process so you know
if that's my result that's a lot more
empowering and motivating than launch a
book write a book right because now I'm
tying in
part of the reason and purpose behind it
as well making it more compelling and
that's really a very important tip for
you is that a lot of people they have
impotent goals they have goals and
results that aren't that exciting and
compelling for them so they don't feel
any emotion towards achieving it the key
here is to make it so that when you read
it you get excited you get inspired by
it and I might even clarify this even
more to be more specific
so to easily launch my new book on
morning ritual habits to impact
thousands of lies and enjoy the process
while making at least thousand dollars
in royalties okay so now it's more
measurable - I can track it over time so
that's that's an example of a result now
next I want to ask myself what's the the
purpose okay what are the reasons that I
have now what I love to do I'll use a
different color for this I like to think
of at least three reasons that achieving
this result for me is a must so I'll
think of three different ones why do I
want this why do I want to launch my
book why do I want to impact thousands
of lives why do I want to make at least
a thousand dollars in royalties from
this well you know one reason for it
could be to create a new passive income
stream and I think about like yeah
that's awesome yeah that's why I'm doing
it I want to make a new additional
income stream awesome that's one reason
to inspire others you have a morning
ritual awesome yeah so that's another
reason I want it I'm doing this because
I want to inspire other people the value
the benefits of having a morning ritual
in their life you know morning rituals
have changed my life I want to share
that with other people so that they can
benefit from having an empowering
morning ritual as well my book is gonna
help them to be able to do this you know
another reason might just be you know to
feel proud of myself
now to feel proud to be like yeah you
know what I follow through on things
that I say that I'll have a book out
there I could be proud of that will
always be there that people can benefit
from or maybe it will establish more
credibility for me or maybe it will help
my business in some way or maybe one of
the reasons will help me be a better
writer you know or better publisher or
learn this new process there's many
different reasons I could think of but I
lead I like to at least come up with
three okay three that I just kind of
write them down real quick for that
result and boom it gets me excited
motivated that this is why I'm doing it
and sometimes the reason is like a
negative one it's like man if if I don't
do this I'm gonna feel stupid if I don't
do this I'm gonna feel like I'm letting
myself down how many feel disappointed
myself I'm not doing what I said right
or I'm gonna feel like I'm
procrastinating my life I'm gonna have
lower self-esteem because of that and
sometimes the painful reasons can also
motivate you as well maybe for you it's
like to never again be broke you know
I'm tired of living this way
unacceptable I want to prove other
people wrong I'm gonna show them what
you're capable of when you set your mind
to something there could be many
different reasons next is now that I
know the results and the purpose then
what's my massive action plan so now I
can start to take those things that I
captured earlier but now that I know the
result and what I'm after I can come up
with new ideas I can create I like they
called a could do list all the things
that I could do that can allow me to
achieve this result so if this is the
result what are all the things that I
could do what's my massive action plan
so I'd write down okay well I get to
write my book great next I got a proof
read the book and I'm sure there's many
more actions to them just kind of doing
this quickly for you and this is kind of
a bigger picture thing that you might
even do like on a weekly or monthly
basis and when you when you get this
down when you do it daily it's it's
gonna be less a lot easier and faster
and a lot less but then you're gonna you
know proof read the book or I'm gonna
set up a KDP account Kindle direct
publishing I need to get book cover
I could publish the book now because I
know this result I'm like hey well what
s it gonna do well I want to make a
thousand and royalties maybe I'm gonna
come up with like a strategy right like
a launch strategy someone I like right
come up with a launch strategy because I
can't you know this plan here if I just
did this okay that will allow me to get
a book out there but does that mean I'm
gonna achieve the result of a thousand
dollars in royalties no I gotta have it
I gotta think more about how I can
achieve this result so I got to think of
a launch strategy maybe I gotta find you
know like this you know plan the
marketing marketing plan for it right or
maybe I've got to get some people that
can help me out and review the book you
know or maybe I need to decide on the
date for the launch maybe I've got to
get other people's feedback on the cover
or to go through the book and give me
feedback on it you know maybe there's
more things that you can think of now
all of a sudden so you're gonna have a
list okay now out of this list one thing
that's important understand is that not
all of these actions are equal okay some
of these actions are going to produce
the result a lot easier and faster than
others so always what you want to do is
do an 80/20 analysis understand that 20%
of the actions that you take are gonna
produce eighty percent of results and
you got to prioritize what's most
important what's highest leverage under
this list so I mean the highest leverage
thing that I see here is to write the
book so for me what I like to do is I
usually will put like an asterisk if
that's like super important but also
prioritize it on a scale from one to ten
so for me this is like ten proofread the
book I'm gonna say I'll say that's an
eight okay set update the KTV accounts I
mean that's that's an eight as well get
poke cover I'll put that as an eight
publish the book eight launch strategy
we'll put that as a a six plan marketing
put as a six as well so basically what I
want to determine is what's the most
important thing for me to focus on and
the most important thing for me to focus
on to achieve this is to work on writing
the book okay so that means that
once I finished this process and I
planned out you know might my difference
rpms and I usually only have like three
for the day one usually for my health
one for my relationship one for my
business maybe and then it might change
I'm gonna have a little bit more or
certain ones on the weekend for my
spiritual life or for my social life or
my mindset or emotion soon like
different ones like that too but I
usually only have like three to five
rpms but then I look at them and I say
okay what's most important and I
understand I'm not gonna get everything
done today I don't need to all I need to
get done is the highest leverage thing
so for me this would be the frog that I
want to eat first thing in the morning
right eat the Frog you want to make sure
the first part of the day you're doing
the highest leverage thing so for me I
know that if I can work on this in the
morning and maybe I spend like an hour
then for me that's a high leverage thing
that I did maybe for me with my health I
did the same process is to workout at
the gym right so for me that might be
like a high-level high leverage thing
for me to do and I prioritize that maybe
for my relationship that date night
planning it out that's a high leverage
thing so I always make sure I get done
the highest leverage thing for that day
and I usually have at least three to
five that are like the stars like the
asterisk so that's a must these other
things that don't get done they get
moved forward to the next day or the
next week okay and I just kind of always
pre prioritize as I check this off the
list
okay what's the next highest leverage
thing okay great it's proof-read great
what's the next highest leverage thing
and I'm reading my result reigniting and
reminding myself of what my purpose is
and sometimes coming up new reasons
every day and I'm reprioritizing to know
what I need to focus on this the next
most important thing okay so it's a
constant reprioritization and then also
the next level is you look at your list
and see if I can delegate this can I
delegate the proofreading absolutely who
says I have to proof read the book it's
probably better that I don't proofread
it because maybe I getting a different
perspective is more beneficial so maybe
I don't need to do this
this one here I can outsource this to
fiverr.com to hire someone or upwork.com
to hire someone or maybe my mom can do
it or maybe a friend can do it right and
they can proofread it for me
so now I've taken it off my plate maybe
even the book cover who says that you've
got to do that maybe you can hire
someone a designer to do that for you
right so now you're leveraging even
publishing like all of this you can
actually delegate it you could outsource
it to someone else and you know that way
you're working smarter you can get more
done in less time and that's essentially
what Tony does at this stage is he's a
master delegation he has two to three
personal assistants right he has a whole
team of people that support what he's
able to do and so what Tony's job is
every day is to only focus on what's
most important and what's highest
leverage in his life so for him when he
has like a big event that he's speaking
for he knows like number one is to speak
at the event but he also has other
outcomes for that day and a plan where
he's gonna do his morning ritual to be
in his best possible state that he's
gonna you know do certain things to
prepare so that he can be supported in
focusing on what's highest leverage for
him and then he'll outsource everything
else to other people so that he doesn't
have to do everything himself so that's
really how you have to think is how to
leverage yourself as much as you
possibly can because that's the only way
they're gonna be able to do more because
there's only 24 hours in the day you
have the same amount of time as
everybody else and so you're only gonna
be able to do so much on your own and
that's why we have to delegate and
leverage other people as much as we
possibly can and you know one thing he
also does - which I find very valuable
is at the end of the day or the end of
the week to really celebrate what you
did accomplished to really feel good and
take it in like yeah you know what I
crushed it
I might not I've gotten everything done
that I wanted to and that's okay but
let's focus on what I did get done let's
focus on the growth and and the progress
that I did make and whatever it gets
rewarded gets repeated success always
breeds more success so when you take a
moment to acknowledge that and celebrate
the magic moments of your day and edge
of your week you get more inspired and
it's like
continuous loop where you feel momentum
going where you want to do more the next
day and you repeat this process and you
get that momentum that's gonna last you
a long time so this is his process for
planning out his day I highly recommend
it I mean I do this in my life and I
love it and it gives you a sense of
fulfillment behind what you're doing
because now you're not just kind of
blindly doing things for no reason or
purpose or result behind it you're
starting first with white with what you
want why you want it and then what you
need to do to achieve it and it's just
gonna it's gonna make sure that you get
that juice that fulfillment not that
emptiness at the end of the day where
you're like you know you got a bunch of
things done but you don't feel complete
or fulfilled by it this will change that
and that's one of the biggest benefits
that I've gotten from it now Tony is she
has a program called time of your life
that teaches this highly recommend it
